Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN) celebrated Tesla‘s declining stock while speaking to a Wisconsin crowd on Tuesday. Walz was in the state for a campaign event on behalf of Wisconsin Supreme Court candidate Susan Crawford. The event was in Eau Claire, which is Rep. Derrick Van Orden’s (R-WI) district. The winner will determine a liberal or conservative majority in the state’s highest court. Crawford is running against Brad Schimel, who received campaign donations from PACs funded by Tesla CEO Elon Musk. This connection, which became the main theme of Crawford’s recent campaign ad, prompted Walz to mention the company.

On Tuesday, President Donald Trump offered to let the United States take control of nuclear power plants in the war-torn country of Ukraine in order to serve as a deterrent against ongoing attacks by Russian forces.
According to The Hill, President Trump made the offer during a phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, amid ongoing efforts to negotiate a ceasefire between the two warring countries.
“American ownership of those plants would be the best protection for that infrastructure and support for Ukrainian energy infrastructure,” said National Security Adviser Mike Waltz and Secretary of State Marco Rubio in a joint statement after the call between the two leaders.
The chief irony of Chief Justice John Roberts’ tenure at the Supreme Court is that the man so doggedly devoted to defending the judiciary has done so much to undermine it. In so doing, he has threatened not only the court’s legitimacy but the republic itself.
