When it comes to targeting wasteful, ineffective, and questionable government spending, the Trump administration is not just focused on personnel costs and expensive subscriptions to Politico. It has also shown a desire to tackle the mandatory government spending that comprises the majority (and a growing share) of the federal budget. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) recently released a proposed rule relating to the Obamacare Exchanges. (A summary is available here.) In some cases, the rule, which needs to go through a formal notice-and-comment period before taking effect, restores policies from the first Trump administration that the Biden interregnum undid. Other policies in the rule attempt to tackle

Right around the time Louisiana had the Medicaid expansion my primary care Dr. sold his practice to a private equity firm. They built him a beautiful office that basically serves to harvest federal dollars. Medicaid patients get blood work every time the go in, for the initial visit and the follow up the next week and the follow up in a month. I get very good care with my private insurance but I venture to say the Medicaid patients get 70% more “fluff” then I do. I’m willing to bet you wouldn’t have to kick anyone off if you eliminated the unnecessary procedures and visits.

Further reason to scrap Obamacare. It has always been about working taxpayers paying the freight of the parasites. Otherwise the forced premiums would have been cheaper than private health insurance.

obamacare needs to be rescinded - NOW. I've been in the business of selling medical insurance for 30 years. Initially, we had decent plans people could afford, since obamacare hit the streets it has been AWFUL, premiums have significantly increased & coverage has significantly decreased. Singularly, it is the BIGGEST REDISTRIBUTION OF WEALTH SCHEME EVER PERPETUATED ON A POPULATION IN HISTORY.

#9 I was also in the insurance business. Mostly property and casualty, but we also did group and health. Obamacare was a nightmare and has never achieved its purpose, to provide affordable care to everyone who needed it. It was actually a sham and was meant to be the forerunner to the left's dream, nationwide socialized health care with no private choices like getting it on your own from one of those evil insurance companies. I am on Medicare now but have a supplement with Mutual of Omaha and am well pleased with them. Needless to say, the docs and staff like to see the supplement so they know they won't have to be trying to get what Medicare doesn't pay and the deductibles from their patients. It's not cheap for the two of us but well worth it.

One of President Donald Trump’s first actions upon entering the White House was to order federal employees to return to the office. The government workforce, he has repeatedly contended, could not be productive from home. “I happen to be a believer that you have to go to work. I don’t think you can work from home,” Trump said on Feb. 11. “Nobody’s going to work from home, they’re going to be going out, they’re going to play tennis, they’re going to play golf. They’re going to do a lot of things. They’re not working.” Three days later, Trump traveled to his sprawling Mar-a-Lago mansion in Palm Beach, where he remained for parts

The FBI's relentless witch hunt against Donald Trump has taken yet another bizarre turn. New revelations show the bureau secretly obtained Trump and Pence's government phones from Biden's White House in May 2022, as part of their “investigation.” “The Biden White House turned over government cellphones belonging to President Donald Trump and former Vice President Mike Pence to the FBI in May 2022 as part of a bureau probe into the aftermath of the 2020 election, tying Trump to that investigation without sufficient predication,” Fox News Digital reports. According to the report, the FBI did not need a warrant to obtain the government phones, but sources told the outlet that

Some of the content unpublished from the site was on veterans who had received the nation's highest military recognition, the Medal of Honor, according to military news site Task & Purpose. Last night, over 100 young conservatives gathered at Trump Tower for a party on the building’s mezzanine level. The dress code? Dress like you’re going to meet your future husband/wife. The host of the evening, Raquel Debono—the influencer who popularized the slogan “Make America Hot Again”—wore Chanel earrings and, like most women in the room, a perfect blowout. The event—hosted by Debono’s employer, “Date Right,” a conservative dating app—was advertised as “a night for the bold, the based, and the beautiful to meet, mingle, and embrace the chaos.”

Senate Republicans in Minnesota are set to introduce a bill that classifies "Trump Derangement Syndrome," commonly referred to as TDS, as a mental illness. For those not privy to the latest medical journals, TDS is a condition where otherwise normal humans turn into frothing, wild-eyed lunatics at the mere mention of a particular golden-haired president. Symptoms include spontaneous outbursts of "Orange Man Bad!", an uncontrollable urge to blame him for everything (including, but not limited to, their burnt toast), and a knack for seeing Hitler in everything he says. The bill, already logged into the legislature website, will be formally introduced and read in the chamber on Monday.

Hunter Biden fled last week to South Africa for a luxury vacation — with round-the-clock Secret Service protection — avoiding a grueling deposition scheduled for this week in a California lawsuit. California District Court Judge Herman Vera granted Hunter’s motion to dismiss the case Thursday after the former first son claimed he was too broke to continue suing former Trump staffer Garrett Ziegler and his nonprofit Marco Polo. But photographs show Hunter was already in Cape Town the day the case was dismissed, staying in a $500-a-night beachfront villa described on its website as an “ultra-luxurious designer home with spectacular 180 degrees unobstructed views of the sea.”

United Nations aid agencies have been sent questionnaires by the US asking them to state if they have "anti-American" beliefs or affiliations. Among the 36 questions on the form, sent by the US Office of Management and Budget (OMB) and seen by the BBC, is one asking if they have any links to communism. Some of the world's biggest humanitarian organisations have received the questionnaire, including the UN Refugee Agency and the International Committee of the Red Cross. The Trump administration has launched a cost-cutting drive across the US government, led by billionaire Elon Musk, and has closed down much of its foreign aid.

Five states are considering legislation or ratifying constitutional amendments that would either implement voter ID or prevent non-citizen voting, as both issues have become significant election integrity concerns. Iowa, Maine, Michigan, Utah and Wisconsin are in the process of strengthening election integrity by pushing forward bills or proposed constitutional amendments that would verify a voter’s identity and/or ensure that they are a U.S. citizen before voting. Only about half of the states have voter photo ID, and just 15 explicitly prohibit non-citizen voting.

President Donald J. Trump is reportedly drafting a new travel ban, which will likely trigger the liberal media. It’s a broader order, as opposed to his initial executive order on immigration that listed several predominately Muslim nations. The press erroneously framed this order as a Muslim ban. It wasn’t—Indonesia, the world’s most populous Muslim nation, was not on the list. It was not even Trump’s list—Obama was the one who initially picked the countries in question. The new one Trump is cooking up has 43 nations on it (via NYT):

Clinton-appointed Judge Richard Young has ordered the Indiana Department of Correction (IDOC) to provide sex change surgery for a “transgender” inmate who murdered a baby. The inmate, Jonathan Richardson, who now goes by “Autumn Cordellioné,” is in prison for the reckless homicide of a baby. Richardson was convicted in 2001 for strangling his then-wife’s 11-month-old daughter to death. The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) filed the lawsuit against the Indiana Department of Corrections seeking a sex change on behalf of Richardson in 2023, three years after the baby-killer decided to begin identifying as a woman. Currently, there is a law in Indiana banning taxpayer-funded sex change procedures for inmates.

Clinton reportedly traveled to Bordeaux to promote climate change garbage at the World Impact Summit to benefit the Clinton Foundation. I say “almost,” because while officially there are 677 of them, some retired judges have taken senior status and may sit from time to time on cases, so the figure is inexact on any given day. Since President Trump was sworn in for a second term, there have been an avalanche of cases seeking relief from executive actions.
