The US Conference of Catholic Bishops has sued the Trump administration, asserting that President Trump's order suspending refugee grants was illegal and demanding millions in what it claims is owed to Catholic charities for work performed under the grant. The USCCB represents the leadership of the Catholic Church in the United States,
The suit, filed in U.S. District Court in the District of Columbia, names as defendants the State Department, the Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration and the Department of Health and Human Services. It says the bishops have partnered with the U.S. government

What they don't seem to realize is they partnered with the Democrat party over the past 50 years since they were in charge then, and have mostly been much of that 50 years.
They like many others, get hooked on the funding.
#1, I don't allow individuals at the church dictate my beliefs. They come and go, but Jesus in your life is forever.

As a devout, lifelong practicing Catholic, I share the sentiment of Poster 1.
These bishops are pushing the limits of my understanding and acceptance. They seem hellbent (no pun intended) on ramping this situation up to crisis level, putting the Church in mortal danger. With Francis seemingly coming to the end of his days, we read that he is scrambling to do what Biden desperately and covertly did in his final days of being President.
I feel much concern for my Pastor, a good man who is steadfast in leading his congregation along the right path, openly addressing the perils of modern society and "morality". He's put in an awful predicament.

The USCCB have been corrupt since I was in Catholic school. Any organization getting that much government funding is a government organization, not a charity or NGO. “Follow the money” usually reveals the truth.

Audit these "charities" immediately. Claw back our tax dollars. Make Soros spend all his kick backed tax dollars in defending these "Charities". Of course Soros won't. Soros will let the "Charities" suffer the consequences that result from his America hating mania.

Why is the government giving money to ANY religious group in the first place??
I don't care which religion it is, the government should not be mixing it up in any way with any religion.
What next? The Abortionists of Jesus demands money? The Islamic Terrorists of the Holy Trinity demand money?

You've known since at least November 5th that the American people have rejected you and your pious grift and that the gravy train was off the tracks. You should have begun to shutdown immediately, then you wouldn't be in the shape you're in.
No sympathy here. The taxpayers you've been ripping off deserve every dime of the money Trump's clawing back. Oh, and by the way, we're busted in case you haven't heard, so the money you're demanding is coming from my grandchildren's future wages. Pound sand, Bishops!

Count up the cost of handling their lawsuit. Multiply it by 10. Then the answer for additional aid, if it is worthy, is no until you have"worked off" the cost of your lawsuit to the government.

When my mother’s side of the family arrived in New York from Ireland in 1847, the church didn’t help them. They didn’t have a “90-day transition period” either; they just got on the train to Illinois and started farming as soon as they arrived.
Now, when anyone wonders why I’m no longer a practicing Catholic, I have one more reason to give them.

I have read "The Vatican." It stated it was one of the richest corporation in the world. Those bishops and cardinals have plenty of money of their own. They don't need our tax dollars!

Threaten to suspend tax exempt status. Separation of Church and State.technically, the State should not recognize ANY church related NGO. The Catholic Church can go hang on its cross. Really. If they showed more concern for their congregants and less for enriching their coffers, they would have more of both. But they no longer teach or adhere to the word of God.
A pack of Judas Priests who followed the globalist Anti-christs for earthly riches over heavenly ones.

It may be appropriate to remind the Catholic Bishops of what St. Paul wrote in Romans 13:1-7 with particular emphasis on Verse 7. “Pay to all what is owed to them: taxes to whom taxes are owed, revenue to whom revenue is owed, respect to whom respect is owed, honor to whom honor is owed.”
St. Paul made clear that “there is no authority except from God” and “those that exist have been instituted by God.” Simply stated, Law and Gospel designed for the secular world; God created “civil government” as a “servant of God” for protection of mankind “as an organization that abides by the laws of incorporation and governance” and the “church” for the “gathering of believers through the gospel.”
St. Mark recorded, “Jesus said to them, “Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's.” (Mark 12:17)
The Catholic Bishops are, essentially, seeking tax money that has been rendered to America’s “Caesar” (government) which appears to disregard not only God’s authority as written in Romans 13:1-7, as well as the directive of Jesus as written in Mark 12:17. Further, their litigation ignores America’s Founding Fathers requiring a “wall of separation” between America’s church and state (government); “church” seeking “civil government” taxpayer money.
Abraham Lincoln: “Sir, my concern is not whether God is on our side; my greatest concern is to be on God's side, for God is always right.” May the Catholic Bishops be as reflective about being on God's side as was Abraham Lincoln.
