A federal judge on Feb. 14 rejected an emergency bid by eight inspectors general fired by the Trump administration to have their jobs restored.
District Judge of the District of Columbia Ana Reyes forced the attorney for the inspectors general to drop the request for a temporary restraining order during a virtual hearing, opting instead for an expedited schedule to hear their request for a preliminary injunction.
Reyes expressed frustration that the plaintiff’s counsel, Seth Waxman, filed suit on Feb. 12 for the order requesting emergency same-day relief, which would have included backpay 21 days after the firings occurred,

Tone deaf and powerless, Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee ran out of stall tactics and finally had to submit to a vote Thursday on the confirmation of President Donald Trump’s FBI director nominee, Kash Patel.
“We have a pretty good idea of what the outcome will be today, and I am appalled that my Republican colleagues are prepared to confirm a man so publicly hostile to the agency, its people, its goals, its mission, that he intends to lead,” Sen. Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., said.
Yes Dick, we all did. Last week. When Democrats delayed the vote for a week, and again Thursday morning when Democrats forced

New York federal Judge Paul Engelmayer’s temporary restraining order blocking the Trump administration’s access to Treasury documents happened so fast it’s unlikely he carefully read the case filings. The filings from the 19 suing Democrat state attorneys generals were so voluminous, and Engelmayer’s order was entered so quickly, that it could not possibly have been the product of reasoned judicial analysis and reflection. The stench is so bad, questions of possible corruption must be answered.

The IRS will be audited by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), President Donald Trump said on Feb. 13.
“The Internal Revenue Service will be looked at like everybody else,” Trump told reporters at the White House in Washington.
He said that just about every federal agency will be examined by DOGE, led by billionaire Elon Musk. “They’re doing a hell of a job. (snip) you know they go up, and they talk to some of the people about certain deals, and they get all tongue-tied because these people get it. They’re very smart people. We need smart people.”
The IRS declined to comment

You have all heard the term “Deep State.” (snip) we define the deep state this way: Deep state is a type of governance made up of potentially secret and unauthorized networks of power operating independently of a state’s political leadership in pursuit of their own agenda and goals.
(snip)
Like everything in the US Government, the structure of informal “Deep State” organization is parsed into silos based on subject areas and interests. Those making decisions about which governments are friends, which are to be treated as foes, and which should be targeted for “regime change” are not the same ones making decisions about what biological agents are potential threats,

The U.S. attorney in charge of federal prosecutors in New York City’s borough of Manhattan resigned on Feb. 13 after a directive to drop corruption charges against Mayor Eric Adams.
Danielle Sassoon, the interim U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York, has stepped down, a spokesperson for the office confirmed.
Sassoon, a Republican, was elevated to the position on Jan. 21, the day after President Donald Trump took office.Bove said the timing of the charges threatened the case’s integrity because they came after Adams criticized former President Joe Biden’s administration over its handling of immigration. He also said the prosecution “has unduly restricted Mayor Adams’ ability to devote full attention

A federal judge has removed a block he had previously placed on the Trump administration’s buyout program for federal workers, denying unions’ request for a preliminary injunction.
Massachusetts Judge George O'Toole said in a Feb. 12 order that the plaintiffs lacked standing and the court does not have subject matter jurisdiction over their claims.
This is a developing story and will be updated.

WASHINGTON—A new list from the White House assesses the Department of Government Efficiency’s (DOGE’s) financial impact so far at more than $3.4 billion, with substantial savings realized through cuts to the Department of Education.
The latest numbers, provided to The Epoch Times on Feb. 11, include $59 million that Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) staff sent to house illegal immigrants in New York City hotels. The White House has sought to claw back that money.
The list also includes a variety of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) contracts and grants, many in the Department of Education, as well as moves against DEI-related directives and policies deemed as out ofstep

President Trump has fired the top watchdog for the US Agency for International Development (USAID) — just as details resurfaced that the controversial agency had bankrolled the college education of an al Qaeda terrorist with ties to 9/11 hijackers.
Paul Martin, who had served as the inspector general since 2023, was informed by a White House official via email Tuesday that his termination was “effective immediately.”
Martin wasn’t given a reason for his firing, a copy of the email shows. The White House wouldn’t comment on his termination.

Deep weeds walkers can infer quite a bit from the Zelenskyy pablum, including the necessary photograph that accompanies the text written for him by the CIA. And without a scintilla of doubt, the CIA wrote the Twitter text. Remember, in order to understand the Ukraine dynamic, it’s always World War Reddit, which is high on optics and narrative.
Yes, once you fully accept that situation – then you realize President Trump is negotiating with the CIA, through the installed representative we call Volodymyr Zelenskyy. That’s the context.

Malone has a lot to say about PDJT's apparent nomination of Gerald Carter, a veterinarian, And Associafe Dean of Global One Health, to be the head of pandemicreponse. From CBS: "Trump taps Gerald Parker to be new head of pandemic office as bird flu threat grows". Malone has alfeady weighed in on bird flu in his own articles. He calls it "fearporn",which could preceipitate another nightmarish and damaging covid-style reponse when there is likely little threat to humans.
