After speaking with President Donald Trump, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced Canada will do more to enforce border security and control the flow of illegal drugs."I just had a good call with President Trump," Trudeau wrote in a post on X. "Canada is implementing our $1.3 billion border plan — reinforcing the border with new choppers, technology, and personnel, enhanced coordination with our American partners, and increased resources to stop the flow of fentanyl. A federal judge Friday evening refused to block the Labor Department from giving Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) access to confidential systems or firing employees for refusing to hand over the credentials.
U.S. District Judge John Bates found the plaintiffs hadn’t show enough injury to have legal standing to bring the lawsuit. “This data includes the medical and financial records of millions of Americans,” wrote Bates. “But on the current record, plaintiffs have failed to establish standing. So although the Court harbors concerns about defendants’ alleged conduct, it must deny plaintiffs’ motion at this time.”
On Thursday, it was revealed that a staffer who worked for the DOGE under Twitter/X owner Elon Musk had resigned after the Wall Street Journal made a White House inquiry about posts the staffer was allegedly linked to on the social media platform that claimed, among other things, that "I was racist before it was cool."According to the report, the account linked to 25-year-old Marko Elez, who worked for Musk in other roles prior to this one, also posted similar racially-charged messages in 2024:

New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy’s office furiously tried to back-peddle Monday after he boasted that he had opened his home to a migrant and taunted the Trump administration “to try to get her.’’

American-Israeli Keith Siegel was released by Hamas Saturday morning in the latest hostage-for-prisoner swaps — making him the first US citizen freed by the terror group under the ongoing cease-fire deal.
Siegel was released just before 10:30 a.m. local time when the Red Cross organized his release with Hamas after he spent the last 484 days in captivity.
Siegel, 65, an occupational therapist from Chapel Hill, N.C., was kidnapped along with his wife, Aviva, when Hamas raided their home on Kibbutz Kfar Aza on Oct. 7, 2023.

The Trump administration is considering three potential areas for the absorption of refugee Gazans after President Donald Trump announced that the US plans to take over the Gaza Strip and relocate those currently there to rebuild the area, N12 reported on Wednesday.
According to the report, the areas being considered are Morocco, Puntland, and Somaliland.
The report noted that what these three countries share in common is a strong need for US support, as Somaliland and Puntland seek international recognition, and Morocco has an ongoing territorial dispute over Western Sahara.
Somaliland has been looking for recognition as an independent country.
Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) joined a mob of dozens of House Democrats in harassing a Department of Education (DOE) employee who was tasked with blocking them from storming into the building on Friday.
