Campaign Myths Exploded: JD Vance Is a
Net Negative

Original Article

Posted By: Dreadnought, 1/27/2025 6:13:31 PM

It’s now become “a thing” among conservatives to wait for the JD Vance ambush of Sunday morning mainstream political media. Clips of Vance expertly handling hostile questioning from Face the Nation‘s Margaret Brennan circulate around conservative Twitter the way Michael Jordan–era highlight reels used to get played throughout the day on rebroadcasts of Sportscaster. Do we think this would be happening for Nikki Haley? Or for Doug Burgum? Is anyone among the many, many pundits who confidently explained that JD Vance was a disastrous, “net-negative” pick who “will do harm” to the ticket going to revisit his views?

I love J.D. Vance. He is a straight talking heavy hitter. The media activists (who long ago abandoned journalism) look so mean spirited and disingenuous with their endless cheap shots and gotcha questions, questions which Vance easily counters with facts and common sense.

Isn't it fun to watch liberal heads explode as Trump's people deconstruct the dems and the media? Vance is a national treasure. He was solid on the vicious campaign trail and has continued to gracefully and brilliantly overwhelm liberal stupidity.

It is beginning to get clearer than Trump may have had more than a VP in mind when he chose Vance. A successor to the leader of the MAGA movement. The Democrats for some reason chose not to fully turn on their Election Theft Machine this time round. But it may be different in '28. Vance's straight shooting no nonsense approach might be the right weapon.

I watched the VP debate and was floored. I've never seen a more capable politician and promising statesman in my life. I think Trump picked him to be an exemplar of the leadership we must have from now on. I think Trump picked his true legacy. I think Vance's administration will testify to the love Trump had for us and our nation. I believe the Almighty sent Trump to be raised by his rigid but wealthy and principled old man so that he'd have both the financial and emotional resources to defy the democrats, defeat them, and reestablish a nation where men and women of Vance's character could not just aspire to high office, but be sought for it. Like all Conservatives, I'm a liberal, and as such, an idealist.

President Donald Trump wants to help illegal migrants self-deport from the United States as some of his supporters complain about the slower-than-hoped pace of deportations and Democrats launch a massive resistance. “We’re doing a self-deportation [program], and we’re going to make it comfortable for people, and we’re going to work with those people to come back into our country legally — the good ones,” Trump told the Spanish-language division of Fox News. He added: The only thing I haven’t determined is what are we going to do? We’re going to give him a stipend, we’re going to give him some money and a plane ticket,

According to Svyrydenko, Ukrainian negotiators have “adjusted several items within a draft agreement.” If the American side is satisfied with those adjustments, a memorandum of intent could be signed very soon. Zelensky’s remarks echoed the assessment given by Economy Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, who said “significant progress” has been made on the deal.

Gaza? Tunnels? Tehran? Yes, the IDF hit Hamas in all of those places, including in Iran's capital when Israel took out its top leader Ismail Haniyeh. However, the Wall Street Journal reports that the IDF and Israeli intelligence have struck hardest at the heart of Hamas -- its wallet: Israel last month cut off supplies of humanitarian goods to the enclave, some of which Hamas had been seizing and selling to raise funds, according to Arab, Israeli and Western officials. Its renewed offensive has targeted and killed Hamas officials who played important roles in distributing cash to cadres and sent others into hiding, Arab intelligence officials said.

A pair of earthshattering, history-altering, Chris Christie-sized stories broke this week, but they’ve (mostly) skated beneath the political periphery. That’s because you can’t grasp the sheer enormity of the consequences until you connect them together. On their own, they’re inconsequential, back-of-the-page news stories — scarcely soliciting a shoulder shrug from political wonks. But together, as a one-two punch, it will change American politics forever. And it will murder the modern Democratic Party. There’s been a slow-moving coup… but nobody’s noticed! It’s tied to the larger political realignment nationally:

So much for the "he criticized Democrats" narrative that formed around Cody Balmer. The arsonist targeted Josh Shapiro and his family over perceived slights to "the people of Palestine," according to police search warrants, as well as Shapiro's Jewish faith. The timing of the attack -- on Passover -- strongly suggested domestic terrorism in the first place. Now police and prosecutors claim they have evidence to back up that assumption, as well as evidence of Balmer's left-wing extremism ... in the familiar form of Che Fever: The suspected arsonist who allegedly tried to kill Pennsylvania Gov. The Internal Revenue Service is making plans to rescind the tax-exempt status of Harvard University, according to two sources familiar with the matter, which would be an extraordinary step of retaliation as the Trump administration seeks to turn up pressure on the university that has defied its demands to change its hiring and other practices. A final decision on rescinding the university’s tax exemption is expected soon, the sources said. The administration already has blocked more than $2 billion in funding from the nation’s oldest university, which is fighting the White House’s policy demands, citing the constitutional right of private universities to determine their own teaching practices.

A distant ocean-covered world, teeming with life. That's the most likely explanation for a new discovery made by scientists, who say they have detected the most promising signs yet of life outside our solar system. Using data from the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST), the astronomers, led by the University of Cambridge, have identified the chemical fingerprints dimethyl sulfide (DMS) and dimethyl disulfide (DMDS) – molecules that indicate life. Here on Earth, these molecules are only produced by living organisms – primarily microbial life such as marine phytoplankton. The molecules have been detected in the atmosphere of exoplanet K2-18b, which is located around 124 light-years from Earth in the constellation of Leo.

The United Kingdom’s supreme court ruled Wednesday that males who identify as women do not fall qualify as women under anti-discrimination law, a monumental decision that will have major consequences for British law. The high court defined “woman” based on sex rather than gender identity, keeping it within the bounds of scientific reality rather than giving into the demands of left-wing activists. The ruling specifically addressed Britain’s 2010 Equality Act, an anti-discrimination law that covers nine protected characteristics and applies to various sectors of British life.

I’m often darkly amused by common examples of inherently false nomenclature: “Jumbo shrimp.” “Government ethics.” “Unbiased news media.” And one of our society’s biggest falsehoods-in-a-name: “Non-governmental organizations.” Until recently these groups have been widely seen as international, idealized versions of domestic non-profits. We thought of them as do-good organizations set up by people who really care — about the environment, or poor people, or children, or freedom. We imagined they raise money, help the downtrodden, send out press releases and engage in other private activities to promote the causes they favor. They’re not government entities, we thought

And he has imposed tariffs on Chinese goods, a retrograde, far-right policy–even if tariffs were formerly recommended by the Times’s own Democrats. That would have been smart. But he appears to still be there and still grandstanding. It’s not just Biden family artwork that’s struggling to sell these days. Former President Joe Biden’s attempt to bill $300,000 per speaking appearance is finding few takers, The Post has learned — as some of his own former aides say it’s time for the 82-year-old to leave the spotlight for good after reminiscing about “colored kids” Tuesday in his first public address since leaving office. A source familiar with Biden’s faltering speaking career said that the 46th president’s standard pitch is $300,000 — 25% below Barack Obama’s $400,000 asking price upon leaving office in 2017. It’s unclear how negotiable Biden’s rate is.

New York Attorney General Letitia James’s mortgage fraud problems just got even bigger, and may now include the possible breaking of campaign disclosure laws. Questions are now being raised about a foreclosure sale in December 2008 that involved James as a purchaser. Documents show her name appearing on the “Final Foreclosure Accounting” for the purchase of a single-family home at 21 Peters Street in Martinsville, Virginia. Two other names appear on the same document as additional purchasers, Johnsie Finney and Philip Finney. Interestingly, James’s first named is misspelled as “Letitua.” One has to wonder whether this misspelling was intended to make the transaction harder to track.
