Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) had good qualities. He pushed through Trump’s judicial nominees during the first presidency, got his tax cuts passed, and is a noted legislative strategist and tactician. It doesn’t mean he always bats a thousand, but McConnell got key portions of the Trump agenda passed after the 2016 election. Now, he’s erased all that goodwill with this dastardly vote against Pete Hegseth for secretary of defense. McConnell’s defection, plus that of Sens. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) and Susan Collins (R-ME), led to Vice President JD Vance performing his constitutional duty to break the tie.

Somebody got to Mitch. He's not too far behind Biden now in a couple of ways. It's time to make Turtle Soup and throw water on the Wicked Witches of the North. Old politics will no longer be tolerated.

As seems to be the case with most old politicians, I'm finding myself looking forward to the day he is at room temperature. He should have retired years ago and enjoyed his twilight years, but like so many he sold his soul and got addicted to the power. He'll never live long enough to spend all the bribe money, so whats the point?

The citizens of KY have a great opportunity to get rid of mitch. They can use the biden replacement rule. He needs to GO! or be made to pay dearly. It would be justice, not elderly abuse. The elderly abuse is allowing him to remain in power. These evil cretins never retire.

If you do what you have always done, you'll get what you've always gotten. This is demonstrated clearly in McConnell leadership in the Senate. Years of go along to get along with alleged collegiality between the political parties. All the while the Democrats march in lockstep with each other opposing everything while Republicans need to be herded like cats. Nothing gets done. Hegseth threatens that mindset. He is not the normal pampered 5 Star General desk jockey. Nobody has experience running an organization the size of something the size of the US military. That's why you surround yourself with good people. Hegseth is smart enough to acknowledge that.

McConnell has never been a friend to MAGA. He went along with the agenda to preserve his power. I don't think he expected Trump to win, or if he did, he thought his Swamp creds would give him some sort of 'in' with the second Trump Administration. He'a political reptile that slithers toward his best advantage.

So, Turtle, you voted against Hegseth because he didn't demonstrate that he could manage a $3 trillion defense budget. Are you kidding me?
I'd like to point out that you, Turtle, as a US Senator in a leadership role were not particularly effective in managing the entire US budget. Recall that the US government is over $36 trillion in the hole now thanks to you.

McConnell is now the Liz Cheney, Mitt Romney, Mulkowski, Collins wing of the party. He is a bitter, vindictive old man that lost the Senate leadership, because all the new Senators won due to Trump's endorsements. McConnell is in the same loser category as Hillary and Kamala, and they will soon be seen commiserating together.

McConnell voted against Hegseth because Trump wants to stop that useless war in Ukraine and Hegseth will be integral in doing it. McConnell's graft payments are going to be cut off. And thats why NC RINO bags of putrid human waste Senator Tilli$$ was thinkin about voting 'no' also. These 'senators', including the splittail rino bags of putrid human waste love their graft.

I've just watched two R senators (Mullins OK and Marshall of Kansas) on Fox News NOT call out McConnell, Collins or Murkowski. when asked about the vote to confirm Hegseth. So sick of the Senate's good old boy and girl country club congeniality.

I just can't believe that regular people in Kentucky that McConnell supposedly represents, really want this kind of behavior right now. The GOP dinosaurs leaving office cannot happen soon enough. He thinks the GOP is still the party of Buick dealership owners and the country club set.

Let's see what kind of balls John Thune has. Today, he needs to take McConnell's Chairmanship of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Defense away from him. It's clear that he will not be fair with Pete Hegseth. AND quite frankly the traitorous corrupt China loving POS needs to be made an example of. Thune, take that Chairmanship away for the sake of your leadership, for the sake of Pete Hegseth and Donald Trump and for the sake of the country. Be a leader. DO IT!!!

Think of the song Mona Lisa as you read this
Mitch McConnell, Mitch McConnell, your Mom named you
You’re the dude who wears the creepy smile
Don’t turn your back on Mitch McConnell
He’ll betray you in a little while
Some have called him “Turtleneck”, indeed
He’s a Senator from Kentucky
His resignation’s what we need
An insider from the Dark Side
Colludes with them always
Oh, how I hope for happy ending
Sooner than later is the best
We can get on with good governance
And put his silliness to rest!

Mitch was concerned about all the questions Hegseth didn't answer. Those questions were never asked. The Dems only wanted to question him about women in the military and all the smear lies put out there. I have no idea whether he is capable to doing the job or not but he has the will and desire to make our military great again. That's more than Austin ever did. With Hegseth having Trump backing him, I hope our adversaries will think twice about attacking any of our allies.

The fact that Pete Hegseth unashamedly revealed, in the opening statement of his confirmation hearing, that he and his wife pray together each morning, give all glory to Jesus Christ and ask that His will be done, gives me far more faith in his ability, and determination to successfully carry out his duties for the good of our country, than others who are, and have been, in important leadership positions for many years - especially the past four years.
Secretary Hegseth is following the example of other great, successful leaders throughout history, by humbly and sincerely seeking God’s providential guidance. Worldly wisdom alone is never enough.
He, and all others of that mindset, have the grateful, unceasing prayers of many committed believers.
I would feel a lot more comfortable about some others in our government, if there was more evidence that they were doing the same toward the good. America’s decline is obvious proof that their leadership is based in an entirely different mindset.
We have been granted an opportunity to avail ourselves of the experience, knowledge and information of the world’s best minds, and to seek the wisdom and blessings of our God and the precepts and principles on which our country was founded, as guidance in its implementation. May our new leadership take full advantage of it, and more join with them. To God be the Glory. His will be done.

I hope Mitch serves out him term. The Governor of Kentucky is a demoncrap. If Mitch resigned the gov would appoint a left wing looney. Mitch is old. He does what he wants to do. Ever now and then he does something useful. VP Vance is right. When you win the margin doesn't matter.
