If you have to be somewhere you don’t want to be — like, say, the inauguration of Donald Trump — you may as well make it known you’re not down with the program. At least, that’s what it seems Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson did. Yesterday, during the inauguration, while Mark Zuckerberg was yucking it up with Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez and Elon Musk simply could not hold himself back from throwing a thumbs-up to the camera, Justice Jackson sat quietly. With her judicial robes, she wore a collar and a pair of earrings made up of cowrie

Far-left Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) is urging civil disobedience against Donald Trump’s slew of executive orders.
Since taking office on Monday, Trump has signed a slew of executive orders targeting everything from immigration and the border all the way through to ending DEI and dismantling the deep state.
In one of her regular live stream videos in which she lays out the roadmap to a socialist America, the New York Congresswoman urged people to simply ignore or disobey executive orders signed by the president.
She explained:

President Donald Trump's Department of Government Efficiency is looking into stopping production of the penny to save taxpayers money.
In a post on X Tuesday night, the Elon Musk-run group pointed out that a penny now costs three cents to make - triple its value.
That cost taxpayers a whopping $179 million in fiscal year 2023, the post said.
DOGE has been tasked with coming up with recommendations on how to cut federal spending.
It's unclear if it would advise permanently killing off the penny, or just halting or trimming the penny's production.

Right Rev. Mariann Edgar Budde responded to President Donald Trump's criticism of comments she made during her sermon at the Washington National Cathedral on Tuesday. On Trump's first full day of his second term, Budde, of the Episcopal Diocese of Washington, delivered a sermon focused on "unity," also targeting specific comments directly at Trump on issues like illegal immigration and LGBTQ youth. Trump and Vice President JD Vance sat stone-faced as she urged Trump to "have mercy," and the president indicated to reporters afterward he didn't care for the remarks.

Fox News’ Greg Gutfeld apparently had enough of co-host Jessica Tarlov’s shenanigans about the second Trump presidency and the slew of executive orders that have virtually undone everything Joe Biden did over the past four years. In 36 hours, an entire presidency was revoked. Tarlov asked Gutfeld about birthright citizenship, which led to Gutfeld unleashing an epic tirade against liberal America being incapable of understanding this moment.
First, on the immigration questions, Gutfeld aptly noted that you don’t need to like everything in a restaurant to like the establishment. That’s the typical authoritarian tendency of the Left—you must like or comply with everything they say, including candidates.

The Trump administration has reportedly reassigned more than a dozen career Justice Department officials, including one who played a central role in pushing for the FBI raid of Mar-a-Lago.
The new assignments – given to at least 15 longtime officials – will see the federal employees remain within DOJ but in the roles where they are expected to wield less influence on the department’s major decision, the Washington Post reported on Tuesday.
Some officials were notified they were being transferred just hours after President Trump was sworn-in on Monday, according to the outlet.

President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Wednesday rescinding President Lyndon B. Johnson’s Executive Order 11246, which mandated government contractors take affirmative action.
The order more broadly ceases diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) “discrimination in the federal workforce, and in federal contracting and spending,” the White House noted. The federal government’s hiring practices will now be merit-based, with employees being rewarded for “individual initiative, skills, performance, and hard work.”
One major facet of Trump’s move is terminating Johnson’s 1965 order.

Liz Cheney's pardon from former President Joe Biden might be keeping her warm at night as she wanders the frozen political wasteland of her own making, but she might not want to get too comfortable with her current situation.
On Wednesday, Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-LA) announced the formation of a new J6 subcommittee that will be tasked with continuing the investigation into "all events leading up to and after January 6." This new committee replaces the Committee on House Administration's Subcommittee on Oversight, and will once again be chaired by Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-GA). Here's the interesting twist: it will now fall under the purview of

Kamala Harris was all smiles and affection for her 'beloved' second gentleman Doug Emhoff in the immediate aftermath of her crushing presidential election defeat.
But now that President Donald Trump has been sworn into office, for sore loser Harris, it is now all about the blame game, and her target has flipped to her 'dead weight' husband.
And as she weighs her political future – maybe a 2026 run for Governor of California or another try for the nation's top job two years later – she has to consider whether Emhoff is an asset or a liability.
One source exclusively told DailyMail.com: 'There's plenty of blame to go around

In a shocking revelation, sources claim that former President Joe Biden’s National Security Advisor, Jake Sullivan, instructed National Security Council (NSC) staffers to "hold over" into the second Trump administration, allegedly to spy on and sabotage President Donald Trump’s presidency. This reported intent mirrors similar tactics used during the early days of Trump's first term, raising questions about the lengths some in the government may go to undermine the transition of power.

This morning, while people were still sweeping up confetti and collecting empty champagne flutes from the inaugural balls, President Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and their wives attended the National Prayer Service at the National Cathedral. For the more liturgically-minded readers and those wayward Episcopalians, the order of service can be found here.
A certain amount of ecumenicism is to be expected and appreciated at such a service. Jesse J. Swann, Jr., chief of the Piscataway Conoy Tribe, gave the invocation. Rabbi Susan N. Shankman read from Deuteronomy 10:17-21, and cantor Susan Bortnick offered the Jewish call to prayer. There were the requisite high-ranking members of the Episcopal Church

CNN boss Mark Thompson told more than 100 journalists and top on-air talent including Jake Tapper and Anderson Cooper that they ought to avoid “pre-judging” President-elect Donald Trump while cautioning them “against expressing any outrage of their own” during the inauguration, according to a report.
Thompson convened a virtual editorial meeting Sunday that included Tapper, Cooper and scores of other senior news personalities to discuss CNN’s coverage of the inaugural ceremonies that took place the next day in Washington, DC, according to the Status newsletter.
