Is there anything Donald Trump can't do...or can't be blamed for?
I just finished a post on how his mere election was enough to lift economic confidence boats across the choppy waters of commerce, from consumers to small business to the like of Goldman Sachs.
And now comes this news that the state willing to put off taking care of their suffering wildfire victims because it's more important they 'Trump-proof' their whack-job woke policies...has suddenly thrown in the towel at the looming inauguration of that very nemesis [snip]
Newsom's Electric Truck mandate was going to be nearly the final nail in the commerce coffin.

EVs in general are a joke. EV trucks are a total and complete joke, 100% unworkable. Short range, low load.
A typical semi tractor fuel tank is 150 gallons. The energy in that diesel fuel is about like 25 Tesla batteries, probably more. EV trucks are not workable at all.

Dems admit to wanting to create "road diets".....closing down existing travel lanes, causing increased traffic congestion with the INTENT to make cars unworkable.
Years ago, we build more and better highways to reduce travel times and improve convenience. Now the Dems and EcoCrazies want to destroy all our progress, push us back to the 1920s or maybe 1880s.
And people VOTE for this? Judicial Watch has reported 1.2 million invalid voter registrations removed from LA COUNTY alone. How many more invalid voters are there still on the rolls. Seems like maybe if about 1 registration in 9 is invalid, probably the elections have been crooked for a LONG time.

So I guess that means all those companies that were forced by the government to buy EV road fleets are screwed!

What about the existing regulations that bar most Diesel trucks from CA, creating the trucking shortage that adds to the port congestion?
Did they let in the Fire Trucks from Oregon? Last I heard the fire trucks were quarantined up near the state line because they did not have KommieFormia's latest Emission Certifications.

Very ironic that 'California air regulators voted to phase out sales of new gas vehicles by 2035' but we never voted for the regulators.

Now we need to get rid of the rest of the EV "mandates". More like dictates. While we're at it, let's get rid of the imbecilic wind turbine and solar panel garbage. Getting rid of ethanol in our gas would be icing on the cake.

RE #6, as long as farmers get to vote, we'll be wasting billions putting corn into our gas, so that farmers can make a hell of a lot more money selling corn. Just because there are a dozen reasons why it is a bad policy, it won't change. Farmers vote for higher corn prices, which happen because of the ethanol production from corn.

So much of what they want is aspirational, not realistic.
In SoCal there are roughly 18,000 registered trucks handling port business.
About 400 of those are EV.
Very little infrastructure exists today (maybe 200 spaces) which takes 4-6 hours to charge.
This means only 1 move per day for a truck since there are Hours of Service rules that restrict how many hours a day a driver can operate their truck (may drive for 11 hour after being off for 10 hours).
The port expects a 6 times increase in electricity use in the coming years and that's not considering all of the other electricity use increases across the board or the massive demand from AI (which is why some are looking at needing nuclear power).
China will still build hundreds of coal fired power plants.
CA forest fires have created more CO2 than 1 year of vehicle traffic.

How many electric trucks would it require to rebuild LA? Generators, chainsaws, heavy construction equipment..?
