In the wake of the devastating wildfires that have ravaged Los Angeles County, Governor Gavin Newsom has unveiled an ambitious initiative dubbed the “Reimagining LA 2.0” to reconstruct the city. This plan, which he refers to as “reimagining LA 2.0,” aims to rebuild the city with a focus on modernization and resilience, particularly in anticipation of the 2028 Olympics and the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Star Wars star Mark Hamill is wondering how many of his fans plan to boycott watching any part of the coverage of President-elect Donald Trump’s upcoming inauguration ceremony, weeks before the historic event.
The rabidly left-wing Luke Skywalker star jumped to his BlueSky account once again to gin up hatred for Donald Trump and Republicans with a post reading, “Who else is really looking forward to not watching the Inauguration?” The post also had a meme reading, “I will not be watching the sad mockery of someone swearing an oath they have no intention of upholding.”

New York — Veteran opinion columnist Jennifer Rubin is becoming the latest in a long list of Washington Post figures to leave the troubled institution. Rubin is partnering with former White House ethics czar Norm Eisen and launching something new: a startup publication called The Contrarian. The startup’s tagline, “Not owned by anybody,” is a pointed reference to billionaire Washington Post owner Jeff Bezos and other moguls who, in Rubin’s view, have “bent the knee” to President-elect Donald Trump. “Our goal is to combat, with every fiber of our being, the authoritarian threat that we face,” Rubin told CNN in

A suspect seen starting fires with a blow torch in a Los Angeles neighborhood Thursday afternoon is not being charged with arson because a police investigation found “no probable cause.” The man is still being detained on a felony probation violation amid the ongoing investigation, Los Angeles Police Department Assistant Chief Dominic Choi said in a press conference Friday.
The arrest comes amid growing speculation that at least some of the LA fires were started by arsonists.
The suspect was arrested Thursday night on suspicion of arson near the Kenneth fire, a wildfire that started at about 2:30, Thursday afternoon. The suspect, believed to be a homeless man, had reportedly been

President Trump’s trolling of Canada continues to trigger all of the right people including outgoing Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
Now, one can add another highly influential leftist and potential Canadian Prime minister to the list.
Jagmeet Singh, the leader of the radical-left New Democratic Party (NDP) and candidate for Prime Minister, is still hopping mad over Trump’s trolling posted a deranged message to Trump on Sunday afternoon on his X account.
“I have a message for Donald Trump,” Singh began. “Our country’s not for sale.
“Not now. Not ever.”

WASHINGTON - U.S. Special Counsel Jack Smith concluded that Donald Trump engaged in an "unprecedented criminal effort" to hold on to power after losing the 2020 election, but was thwarted in bringing the case to trial by the president-elect's November election victory, according to a report published on Tuesday.
The report details Smith's decision to bring a four-count indictment against Trump, accusing him of plotting to obstruct the collection and certification of votes following his 2020 defeat by Democratic President Joe Biden. It concludes that the evidence would have been enough to convict Trump at trial, but his imminent return to the presidency, set for Jan. 20, made that impossible.

The Palisades Fire that has devastated Los Angeles and killed at least eight people may have reignited from scorch marks left by an earlier inferno that is believed to have been caused by fireworks set off on New Year’s Eve, according to a report.
The remnants of the New Year’s Eve fire likely could’ve been reignited by strong winds — which have made the current blazes difficult to control — even six days after it was put out, the Washington Post reported. (Photo) An analysis of satellite images, radio communications, videos as well as interviews by the publication found that the deadly Palisades Fire began in the same area

Former Trump attorney Michael Cohen is demanding President Biden pardon him like he pardoned his son Hunter before President-elect Donald Trump can take office.
Cohen discussed his efforts to reach out to the Biden administration for a pardon on MSNBC’s "The Weekend" Saturday morning. He claimed that not giving him a presidential pardon would continue to allow him "to be in danger" of a Trump prosecution.
Cohen argued Biden has an obligation to protect him and other critics from Trump, like he protected his son Hunter. "Yeah, I put in the application for a presidential pardon because I believe that Joe Biden has the same responsibility to me that he had

As we’ve reported, Meta is nuking its fact-checking division and is going to rely on a Community Notes-type system similar to what rival social media platform X uses. Meta property Facebook in particular was notorious for censoring people and outlets over the last four years, especially when users criticized the Biden administration, its Green New Deal policies, COVID policy, and other hot-button issues. Essentially, it became a de facto arm of the Democrat Party, and now that the Trump administration is coming to town, there’s a whole lot of groveling and finger-pointing.
The fact-checking industry is obviously not pleased that they’re taking a lot of the blame,

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) under Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas is reportedly attempting to kill the Laken Riley Act, a bill that requires the DHS to take illegal aliens who have been charged, arrested, or convicted for crimes such as theft, larceny, burglary or shoplifting into custody.
Pablo Manriquez, a news reporter, wrote in a post on X that “sources at DHS” were informing him that the cost of the Laken Riley Act was estimated to be between $20-$30 billion.
Manriquez added that the DHS sources had cited “a $7 billion figure just for beds BEFORE the mandate’s costs on local law enforcement.”

If excuses were good for putting out fires, California’s Democrat chief executive Gavin Newsom could have his state fixed in a jiffy.
As California sailed into the weekend literally ablaze, Newsom thought there was no better time to sit for a half-hour podcast interview with a former Obama administration official. It was beautiful and truly everything we’ve grown to expect from a Democrat in a position of authority.
In 30 minutes, Newsom explained that every criticism leveled at him is “misinformation,” that he is just as much a victim as anyone who saw his home burn to ashes, and that he’s helping fix the problem even though it’s not his responsibility.
