With each news cycle, it seems that lame-duck President Joe Biden is going out of his way to say, “To hell with you!” to the American people and to the tens of millions of voters who made it clear in November that they want a new way forward. As RedState’s Rusty Weiss reported, in his latest move to place a cap on the Worst Presidency of All Time, Biden chose to award Presidential Medals of Freedom to two of the most divisive figures in America, twice-failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and far-left financier George Soros, a man whose life's work appears to be tearing down America as we know it.

As we reported, Joe Biden laughably presented former Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney the nation's second highest civilian award—the Presidential Citizens Medal—on Thursday for her role in being a key member of the corrupt J6 Committee. It was a Hollywood-produced show trial where there was no Republican cross-examination of witnesses, and Cheney herself has now been credibly accused of tampering with a witness, a charge that can come with a lengthy prison sentence. As if she needed to be shown yet one more time that she joined the wrong team, the medal ceremony was a cringefest where Biden was up to his usual creepy shenanigans. She got applause Thursday—

President Biden will award the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation’s highest civilian honor, to former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, billionaire Democratic megadonor George Soros and several others at a White House ceremony on Saturday.
The White House said Clinton, Soros and the 17 other recipients of the prestigious award are “individuals who have made exemplary contributions to the prosperity, values, or security of the United States, world peace, or other significant societal, public or private endeavors.”
“President Biden believes great leaders keep the faith, give everyone a fair shot, and put decency above all else,” the White House said in a statement.

President-elect Donald J. Trump will be sentenced on January 10, but there will be no jail time, not that was ever a concern. The laws and statutes got so contorted that even CNN’s Elie Honig, the network's chief legal analyst and former assistant US attorney, couldn’t defend it, aptly calling it a total disaster of a case. In essence, Trump only got convicted because Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg and his team perverted the rule of law. Law professor Jonathan Turley nailed why Judge Juan Merchan wants to get this wrapped on January 10. It’s to give the liberal media the talking point they’ve salivated over for months:

Iran's mullahs would surely love nothing more than to cut a deal with the incoming Trump administration that would enable them to stay in power, build their nuclear weapons and unleash them at a later date.
Bribing adversaries to stop only provides funding, which finances their military so they can attack us later with bigger weapons. That is how North Korea and Iran built their nuclear weapons programs. China's was built by direct investment: a gift to kill us from Uncle Sam.

Venezuela’s socialist regime on Thursday announced a $100,000 bounty for information leading to the capture of exiled opposition presidential candidate Edmundo González.
The bounty on González, who currently lives in exile in Spain, comes days before January 10, 2025, the start date of a new six-year presidential term in Venezuela as per the nation’s constitution. Both socialist dictator Nicolás Maduro and González, a 75-year-old former diplomat, are planning presidential inaugurations in Caracas on that day. Both claim to have won the 2024 presidential election, which a large number of international observers have dismissed as rigged.

As they have throughout the hours and days following the shocking Cybertruck explosion outside of the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada, on New Year's Day, law enforcement officials conducted another press conference in which they disclosed multiple stunning new details regarding the incident. Below are some of the key details disclosed in Friday afternoon's presser:
Authorities recovered the phone of Matthew Livelsberger, the 37-year-old man believed to be the driver of the Cybertruck. The phone was damaged in the explosion, but they were able to extract the data.

Folks, I know this is not a popular opinion, but I have always promised to call them exactly as the data aligns and as I see them unfolding.
Taking a position in support of Tommy Robinson, taking a strong position against Muslim rape gangs in the U.K., and taking a position in favor of Nigel Farage are not controversial positions in the world of MAGA. In fact, they are popular positions widely held by all of us. However, those positions have little bearing on OUR set of challenges in the USA.

It has not been a good day for Kamala Harris. We’ll be rid of her soon enough, but her last big job before leaving will be certifying the results of the election that she just spent a billion dollars to lose. That will be fun to watch.
On Friday, however, Kamala came out of hiding for one of her remaining ceremonial duties: swearing in the new senators. Predictably, even that didn’t go smoothly. She kicked off the day by leading the Senate chamber in the Pledge of Allegiance, only to fumble her way through it.

As editorial writers for a combined 90 or so years, we’ve found ourselves often trying to divine the future in addition to insightfully commenting on the present. So we thought with only a few hours left in the year, we’d look back and see if our foresight was sharp, or maybe just a bit blurry, and if our assessment of current events was on the mark.
What We Got Right
We suggested in February that Joe Biden wasn’t going to be the Democrats’ nominee in 2024. “In short,” we said, “given that the establishment left is now insisting that Biden will be the nominee makes it more likely that he won’t be.”

The Canadian government pledged to crack down on student visa abuse after Indian officials complained about a “well-planned conspiracy” that used Canadian student visas to smuggle Indian nationals into the United States.
According to India’s Directorate of Enforcement, an umbrella agency that coordinates interdepartmental investigations of money laundering, a sophisticated criminal operation in India has been systematically abusing student visas to smuggle Indians into Canada. The criminals allegedly targeted a hundred Canadian colleges and universiti

As desperate, phony, and even dangerous of a campaign Democrats ran this year, and as embarrassing as the outcome was for all of them, nobody came out looking more pathetic than Barack Obama. From 2024’s vantage point, is there any way to look at his legacy but as a tragic blight on American history?
In the final months of the campaign, Obama seemed to know the outcome of the election would say just as much about him as it would about Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, or Donald Trump. And, like all realistic Democrats, he knew that the nominee he supported was on track to lose.
