It has not been a good day for Kamala Harris. We’ll be rid of her soon enough, but her last big job before leaving will be certifying the results of the election that she just spent a billion dollars to lose. That will be fun to watch. On Friday, however, Kamala came out of hiding for one of her remaining ceremonial duties: swearing in the new senators. Predictably, even that didn’t go smoothly. She kicked off the day by leading the Senate chamber in the Pledge of Allegiance, only to fumble her way through it.

American-Israeli Keith Siegel was released by Hamas Saturday morning in the latest hostage-for-prisoner swaps — making him the first US citizen freed by the terror group under the ongoing cease-fire deal.
Siegel was released just before 10:30 a.m. local time when the Red Cross organized his release with Hamas after he spent the last 484 days in captivity.
Siegel, 65, an occupational therapist from Chapel Hill, N.C., was kidnapped along with his wife, Aviva, when Hamas raided their home on Kibbutz Kfar Aza on Oct. 7, 2023.

The Army is refusing to name the female pilot killed aboard the military helicopter that collided with a passenger jet flying into Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport on Wednesday.
In an announcement Friday, the Army, which disclosed the names of the two other soldiers in the chopper who died, said the woman’s family requested her identity be withheld from the public.
“At the request of the family, the name of the third Soldier will not be released at this time,” the Army Public Affairs wrote on their website.

President Trump fired the head of the FBI Washington Field Office, according to NBC News reporter Ken Dilanian.
David Sundberg is the highest ranking FBI official to be fired in Trump’s second term. Trump fired FBI Director James Comey during his first term.
Sundberg oversaw the January 6 investigation and the investigation into the so-called DNC pipe bomber.

A plane reportedly crashed on a street near the Roosevelt Mall in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Friday night, igniting nearby cars and homes in flames.
