Trump Should Erect an Arch for America’s 250th

During the Covid-ridden summer of 2020, amid widespread vandalization of public monuments triggered by George Floyd’s killing, President Donald Trump issued an executive order for the creation of a National Garden of American Heroes to mark the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. It would feature honorific statues of eminent Americans from varied walks of life. The order was promptly rescinded by President Joe Biden, but after his electoral victory in November Trump promised to reinstate it as a key component of “a most spectacular birthday party.” Where the garden will be located has yet to be announced.

Comments:

Whether or not it’s an arch doesn’t matter, but some kind of significant memorial/monument would be a great way to honor the anniversary of the world’s oldest democracy.

The was no "George Floyd killing", this is an often repeated lie. Floyd killed himself with a drug overdose which triggered a heart attack. The police did no harm to Floyd.

"Where the garden will be located has yet to be announced." Anywhere but D.C. Preferably somewhere in flyover country where they would appreciate the tourist traffic and protect it from Antifa.

Somewhere in RED flyover country would be nice. Nearby, PDT can get 100s of acres for his presidential library. What was Orlando like 50 years ago? A whole city/county grew because of Disneyland. The 'library' should plan for hotels, convention centers, restaurants, apartments, camp grounds, shopping, recreation and at least 1 golf course. (another Branson???)

2024 proved to be the year of the reemergence of many once and unfairly pilloried public figures. Elon Musk weathered nonstop attacks on his X social media platform. Furor escalated over his newfound 2024 Trump advocacy—even as he ended 2024 with his iconic Tesla brand still the best-selling car in six states and the most popular electric vehicle in the entire nation. Tesla’s rising stock prices ensured by year’s end that Musk was by far the richest man in the world with a net worth of well over $400 billion. President Biden's jab at President-elect Donald Trump that he could learn about "decency" from the late Jimmy Carter didn’t play well with conservatives online. Carter died on Sunday at the age of 100 as the longest-living American president in history. When a reporter asked Biden what Trump should take from Carter's legacy, Biden replied, "Decency." "Decency, decency, decency," Biden said. "Can you imagine Jimmy Carter walking by someone who needed something and just keep walking? Can you imagine Jimmy Carter referring to someone by the way they look or the way they talk?"

President-elect Donald Trump gave his "complete" and "total" endorsement of Mike Johnson ahead of next month's expected fight to hold onto the House speakership. "The American people need IMMEDIATE relief from all of the destructive policies of the last Administration. Speaker Mike Johnson is a good, hard working, religious man," Trump wrote on TRUTHSocial Monday. "He will do the right thing, and we will continue to WIN. Mike has my Complete & Total Endorsement. MAGA!!!" Trump, championing the GOP as "the Party of COMMON SENSE," also included a warning to Republicans.

What a year it was! My first column of 2024 declared it “The Year of Trump,” and there was never a dull moment as Donald Trump aimed not just to take back the White House, but to stay out of prison and ultimately to stay alive. Now that the election is over, it’s time to look in the rear-view mirror and contemplate why Trump is not just the greatest political comeback in history, but the greatest showman in the world. So let’s consider Trump’s Top 10 best moves in the most consequential election of our lifetimes. It could easily be the Top 100, but that would be bragging.

The president recently told people that he still believes he could have beaten Trump in the November election, despite his rough debate performance in June and his low approval numbers that forced him to leave the race, according to the Washington Post, citing people familiar with the conversations.

Allies of Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., are urging President-elect Trump to publicly reaffirm support for the House GOP leader to avoid a messy, protracted battle that could delay the certification of his own victory. "If we have some kind of protracted fight where we can’t elect a speaker — the speaker’s not elected; we’re not sworn in. And if we’re not sworn in, we can’t certify the election," Rep. Carlos Gimenez, R-Fla., told Fox News Digital. "I would hope that President Trump would chime in and talk to those who are maybe a little hesitant, and say, ‘We’ve got to get going. We don’t have time.’"

In the weeks before the 2016 Trump Electoral College victory, Donald Trump was polling between 35 and 40 percent. He would average only about 41% approval over his tumultuous four-year tenure. No one knows what lies ahead over the next four years. But for now, Trump already polls well over 50% approval. His inauguration in a few weeks will likely not resemble Trump's 2016 ceremony. In the 2016-7 transition, Democratic-affiliated interests ran commercials urging electors to become "faithless," and thus illegally to reject their states' popular votes and instead elect the loser, Hillary Clinton. Massive demonstrations met Trump on Inauguration Day.

Never in U.S. history has a president-elect been welcomed as the real president before his January 20 inauguration. And never has the incumbent president so willingly surrendered his last two months in office and all but abdicated—to the relief of his nation and the rest of the world. One reason so many are welcoming Trump’s return is the universally desperate hope that his election spelled an end to a collective madness at home and its ripples abroad during the last four years. And why not?

“This is the way the world ends,” T.S. Eliot famously wrote. “Not with a bang but a whimper.” He might have been talking about Joe Biden’s presidency. As he prepares to slink out the door, Biden’s final days in the Oval Office offer a perfect metaphor for everything that was wrong with his tenure. He pardoned his convicted-criminal son after vowing not to and his mass commutations included one for a judge convicted of taking kickbacks to send juveniles to for-profit detention facilities. The judge was in Scranton, Pa., meaning Biden even betrayed distraught parents in his hometown.

Joe Biden and the Dem apparat around him have made it plain: They are going to do as much damage to America as they can on the way out the door. Last week brought a record number of presidential pardons, including 1,500 commutations of the sentences of “nonviolent” felons, most of whom were already serving their sentences at home after being sprung from prison during COVID. Except the White House upped the count by overlooking some truly heinous offenses: a Pennsylvania judge who took bribes to send kids to a for-profit “detention” center; an Illinois clerk who embezzled over $53 million from a town of just 15,000 people

More pure idiocy from green pushers spread by the complicit media, via Yahoo News: Climate change is making plants less nutritious − that could already be hurting animals that are grazers More than one-third of all animals on Earth, from beetles to cows to elephants, depend on plant-based diets. Plants are a low-calorie food source, so it can be challenging for animals to consume enough energy to meet their needs. Now climate change is reducing the nutritional value of some foods that plant eaters rely on. Human activities are increasing atmospheric carbon dioxide levels and raising global temperatures. As a result, many plants are growing faster across ecosystems worldwide.
