Representative Mike Lawler (R-NY) said Sunday on ABC’s “This Week” that Rep. Mike Johnson (R-LA) will be reelected Speaker of the House because no member of the Freedom Caucus could not get the 218 votes needed.
Partial transcript as follows:
JONATHAN KARL: First of all, let’s start right there with Mike Johnson. Does he get re-elected speaker of the House? Should he be?
LAWLER: Yes, and yes. The fact is that Mike Johnson inherited a disaster when Matt Gaetz and several of my colleagues teamed up with 208 Democrats to remove Kevin McCarthy, which will go down as the single stupidest thing I’ve ever seen

The Guardian Angels are resuming their patrols of the Big Apple’s subways as if it were crime-riddled Gotham in 1979, after the horrifying arson murder of a sleeping straphanger on a train last week, founder Curtis Sliwa said Sunday.
The red-beret-wearing volunteer vigilante squad is beefing up its ranks to its level 45 years ago, Sliwa said.
“We’re going to have to increase our numbers, increase the training and increase our presence as we did back in 1979,” Sliwa said at the Stillwell Avenue-Coney Island station in Brooklyn where the woman was killed.

In the 1960s, the left-wing radicalism of college students drove massive changes in American politics. The primary issue was the war in Vietnam, but there was more bubbling and churning beneath the surface than just anti-war sentiment. Racial issues had been forced fully into the open. The women's liberation movement was set to explode. Class divisions were heightened as inflation took hold and unemployment began to rise.At the same time that students were protesting in America, they were also marching in France, Germany, Great Britain, and most of Western Europe. The status quo was out. Progressivism (liberalism) was in.
This was the beginning of the progressive era in America and

President-elect Donald Trump has promised to eliminate the Department of Education, an ambitious goal that comes amid backlash to what critics say is the agency’s runaway spending and focus on “woke” indoctrination as American children’s grades decline.
“I say it all the time, I’m dying to get back to do this. We will ultimately eliminate the federal Department of Education,” Trump said during a September rally in Wisconsin. “We will drain the government education swamp and stop the abuse

If you took about a hundred dumpsters, all on fire, loaded them on a train full of burning porta-potties, and crashed the whole thing into a giant pile of the stuff one normally finds under the south end of a northbound horse, that would be the Biden presidency. Befuddled and confused, inarticulate, showing flashes of unfounded anger and creepy whispering, Joe Biden will go down in history as one of the worst presidents in the history of the republic.
We can take some comfort in knowing that Joe Biden will be vacating the White House on January 20th. But he's not going quietly into that good night; instead,

** Who hid these photos from the American public showing likely criminal activity by the Biden Crime Family?
** Why are these government officials, with the CIA, IRS, FBI and NARA still walking free after concealing this likely criminal activity from the American people?
Rep. James Comer (R-KY), the Chairman of the House Oversight Committee, joined Jason Chaffetz on Sunday Morning Futures this morning to discuss the incriminating photos released by America First Legal that were published last week of Joe and Hunter Biden meeting with their Chinese business associates while Joe Biden was in China representing the United States government.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will undergo prostate removal surgery on Sunday after being diagnosed with a urinary tract infection last week.
Netanyahu’s office announced the surgery on Saturday, describing the infection as “stemming from a benign enlargement of his prostate.”
The surgery comes as Netanyahu, 75, leads Israel in multiple conflicts across the Middle East against Iran and its proxy terrorist groups.
Just this week, the IDF launched a series of airstrikes against the Houthi rebels in Yemen, targeting Sana’a International Airport, among other locations.

JACKSON, Miss. – Just days after tornadoes ripped across parts of the South, a deadly and “particularly dangerous” tornado watch affecting millions of people was underway in the Gulf states through Saturday night.
One person died Saturday as a result of multiple tornadoes that slammed Texas earlier in the day, Manvel Mayor Dan Davis said in a post on X.
The victim was killed in Brazoria County, located less than an hour outside of Houston, where multiple homes were destroyed and four other people were injured, according to KHOU.
Three other tornadoes were reported in Waller, Montgomery and Chambers counties in Texas, the outlet reported.
