O Come, O Come, Emmanuel, and Ransom Captive Israel

At the heart of the Christmas story, nestled in the opening verses of two Gospels, lies the birth of Jesus, the long awaited Messiah. These words speak of a King born not in the grand halls of a world capital, but in the squalor of a manger—a place of vulnerability. As the angels proclaimed peace on earth, humanity was presented with the ultimate paradox: the Prince of Peace, born unexpectedly, in the midst of ongoing war and turmoil. For centuries, the people of Israel had awaited the Messiah. Prophecies spoke of a leader—a descendant of David—who would reign with justice, righteousness, and power, establishing peace and ending war.

actually, Jesus was born in the tower (Migdol Eder) where specially appointed shepherds watched the sheep and lambs that were used in the Temple sacrifice. Even more than just shepherds, they were their to protect the lambs chosen for sacrifice. They inspected every lamb to see if that lamb was perfect for sacrificial use. He was PLACED in the stone manger after birth (wood will rot) and wrapped in the under clothes that the high Priests had worn (swaddling cloths). Like the lambs birthed there, He was without spot or blemish and He was guarded by angels from all harm. An angel led the 3 wise men- not a star. And the 3 wise men traveled a thousand or so miles to give Him Gifts that were so much money, that He and His family and His disciples would be rich and had enough money to sustain His Ministry. It was worth many millions in todays $$. They did not come on the night He was born, but about 18 months later. On the night he was born, the priests from Jerusalem Temple came (about 6 miles) to see the Messiah. Or, as John the baptist called Him- The Lamb of God.

I started a self-improvement project a few years ago to read the Bible from beginning to end. I am now in Romans, after finishing the four Gospels a month or so ago. Perhaps the King James Version of the Bible is not actually a reliable history of the beginning of Christianity since in that book there is nothing like what #1 has posted.

“In contrast, it was three Gentiles—the Magi, astrologers from the East—who, guided by a star, traveled great distances to worship the newborn King.” NOWHERE do the Scriptures state how many magi there were who followed the star to where Jesus was. They presented him with three types of gifts, but no mention of how many magi did that.

if you go to the first Passover in Egypt and read about the Blood of the Lamb on their door.....if you did deeper into the Temple rules and laws, you will find that each jewish home in Egypt, would have to take the first born lamb of the flock and be the best of their flock for each house. Then they would have to bring that little lamb into their home for 14 days....in that time they would come to love that little baby lamb.....and then kill it for the Passover meal. All this stuff is not explained in the KJV Bible. You have got to dig and dig from other sources...secular history, biblical history. God's Word does not begin and end in the KJV or any other version. be a Biblical detective. read in contex.

#12~ As informational, the instructions given to Moses ARE the same instructions presented in Judeo-Christian Bibles as exhibited below with the King James Version corroborating what is written in the Hebrew Bible. The lamb is to be brought into the house on the TENTH of the month, and on the FOURTEENTH of the month it would killed in the evening; the lamb is held for four days, not held for 14 days. What is NOT written in the King James Version or the Hebrew Bible is the “opinion” that the “members of the household would come to love that little baby lamb.” ~~~ https://www.chabad.org/library/bible_cdo/aid/9873/jewish/Chapter-12.htm Exodus 12 - Shemot (Exodus) - HEBREW BIBLE 1The Lord spoke to Moses and to Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying, 3Speak to the entire community of Israel, saying, "ON THE TENTH OF THIS MONTH, let each one take a lamb for each parental home, a lamb for each household. 5You shall have a PERFECT MALE LAMB IN ITS [FIRST] YEAR; you may take it either from the sheep or from the goats. 6And you shall keep it for inspection UNTIL THE FOURTEENTH DAY of this month, and the entire congregation of the community of Israel shall slaughter it in the afternoon. 7And they shall take [some] of the blood and put it on the two doorposts and on the lintel, on the houses in which they will eat it. Exodus 12 - KING JAMES VERSION 12 And the Lord spake unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt saying, 3 Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, In THE TENTH DAY OF THIS MONTH they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to the house of their fathers, a lamb for an house: 5 Your lamb SHALL BE WITHOUT BLEMISH, A MALE OF THE FIRST YEAR: ye shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats: 6 And ye shall keep it up UNTIL THE FOURTEENTH DAY of the same month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening. 7 And they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it. ~~~ What is written in Scripture is he inerrant Word of God. Many to Blame for LA's Ring of Fire 0 replies

When a politician says "don't politicize" a significant event like the fires that have swept Los Angeles County, it's a good bet they are attempting to divert attention and shield themselves from the consequences of their inaction. Such is the case with California Governor Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, who seem to be blaming others. Bass traveled to Ghana for a wedding after the National Weather Service issued a fire watch, citing "critical fire conditions." The following day, the watches were upgraded to warnings. Meteorologists advised that a "particularly dangerous situation" was developing. Upon her return, Bass refused to answer a reporter's questions.

A mob of far-left agitators heckled U.S. Defense Secretary-designate Pete Hegseth as he appeared before the Senate Armed Services Committee at a hearing Tuesday to confirm his nomination. Sporting pink faux-military uniforms, they looked exactly how you'd expect: [Tweet] Prior to the proceedings, members of the group CodePink, an anti-Israel instigator known for organizing pro-Hamas protests on Capitol Hill, jeered at President-elect Donald Trump's pick to lead the Pentagon. "No Hegseth. No Religious Extremist," said one of the signs brandished by the activists. "No Christian Jihad," another read. An activist wore a button bearing a red "X" over the Jerusalem Cross.

It has been two months since Vice President Kamala Harris lost to President-elect Donald Trump, but a new report reveals that some Democrat donors are still being charged. As Democrats continue to reel from the decisive Republican victory in November, recurring charges are adding insult to injury for some who donated to help steer Harris toward victory. According to a report from Politico, a joint fundraising committee that worked with the Democratic National Committee (DNC) still has some donors enrolled in recurring payments. This is causing some strife among those who gave to the campaign.

Before we get to the gist of the article, we can all agree that nobody trolls better than President-elect Donald Trump. The guy's not only a master at trolling; he often uses the Democrats' own words to reduce them to rubble, which he did throughout the 2024 presidential campaign. In the two most memorable examples, Trump hopped a ride in a Wisconsin garbage truck in response to outgoing President Joe Biden calling his supporters "garbage." And in response to Vice President Kamala Harris' unsubstantiated claim (lie) that she once worked at McDonald's, Trump responded by working a short shift at a McDonald's drive-through window.

WASHINGTON - U.S. Special Counsel Jack Smith concluded that Donald Trump engaged in an "unprecedented criminal effort" to hold on to power after losing the 2020 election, but was thwarted in bringing the case to trial by the president-elect's November election victory, according to a report published on Tuesday. The report details Smith's decision to bring a four-count indictment against Trump, accusing him of plotting to obstruct the collection and certification of votes following his 2020 defeat by Democratic President Joe Biden. It concludes that the evidence would have been enough to convict Trump at trial, but his imminent return to the presidency, set for Jan. 20, made that impossible.
