Two Republican Senate candidates are refusing to concede after losing, and their allies are raising questions about how the election was conducted in a pair of swing states Donald Trump won. In Wisconsin, Eric Hovde said he was considering seeking a recount in his loss to Democratic Sen. Tammy Baldwin and cast doubt on election patterns that experts called ordinary. In Arizona, Kari Lake has not conceded to Democratic Rep. Ruben Gallego, just as she refused to concede when she lost the 2022 race for governor. Her campaign called it “hard to believe” that Lake lost to Gallego.

After spending four months in federal prison for snubbing a congressional subpoena, conservative strategist Steve Bannon had a message Tuesday for prosecutors in cases against him and President-elect Donald Trump. “You wait. The hunted are about to become the hunters,” Bannon said outside a New York court where he’s now facing a state conspiracy trial as soon as next month. He stepped into a waiting car without elaborating on what “the hunters” intend to do.

Walmart is testing technology which would allow customers unlock secured display cases with their cell phones. In the past few years, Walmart and other major retailers have increasingly locked up items in-store in a bid to prevent shoplifting. The move has been controversial, with many customers complaining about having to wait for an employee to unlock the shelves in order to retrieve their items. To speed up the process, Walmart is testing tech in a few hundred stores which allows cases to be unlocked using a cellphone, rather than by hand, Bloomberg reported.

Rev. Al Sharpton announced that he is organizing a rally in Washington on Jan. 20, coinciding with both the inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump and the Martin Luther King Jr. federal holiday. The outspoken Trump critic announced the rally on MSNBC earlier this week. “While Trump supporters will be on one side of Washington watching him take the oath of office, I will be at the nation’s capital working to keep the dream alive,” Sharpton said. “There has never been a more important time to peacefully organize and mobilize.” In 2017, the largest anti-Trump rallies in Washington were held one day after his inauguration.

The Ohio Senate on Wednesday approved a ban on transgender students using bathrooms that fit their gender identities and sent the measure to Republican Gov. Mike DeWine. The Republican-backed bill applies to public K-12 schools and institutions of higher education. It requires the schools to designate separate bathrooms, locker rooms and overnight accommodations “for the exclusive use” of either males and females, based on one's gender assigned at or near birth, in both school buildings and facilities used for a school-sponsored event. The legislation would not apply to school employees, emergencies or people helping young children or those with disabilities.

The FBI has seized the CEO of Polymarket's phone and electronics after the election-betting platform successfully forecast Donald Trump's win. Shayne Coplan, 26, was targeted at his Soho home during a dawn raid on Wednesday, sources told the New York Post. The insider blasted the seizure as 'grand political theater at its worst'. 'They could have asked his lawyer for any of these things. Instead, they staged a so-called raid so they can leak it to the media and use it for obvious political reasons,' the source said. Coplan was reportedly not arrested or given a reason for the raid, but it is thought to be linked to his accurate predictions.

A judge recused himself Tuesday from presiding over Arizona’s fake electors case after an email surfaced in which he told fellow judges to speak out against attacks on Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign for the presidency. In the Aug. 29 email, Maricopa County Judge Bruce Cohen lamented that he didn’t speak out when Harris was called a “DEI hire,” believes that white men must speak out against unfair treatment of women, and raised a historical lesson from the Holocaust about the need to speak up when people are attacked. Cohen didn’t specify who made the comment regarding Harris.

Smuggling organizations in Mexico are rushing migrants to the US-Mexico border before President-elect Donald Trump takes office. With the promise of shutting down the border on day 1 of his administration, Trump is largely seen as disrupting the record-breaking flow of human traffic that has taken place under President Joe Biden, where a minimum of 11 million migrants have crossed into the country. In the most recent example of this, nearly 300 people, including more than 50 children, were caught crammed into the back of a semi-truck in Mexico headed for El Paso, Texas.

David McCormick filed a lawsuit challenging at least 15,000 provisional ballots in Philadelphia in the Pennsylvania Senate race, hours after claiming victory over Democratic Senator Bob Casey. McCormick, a Republican, held a slight lead over Casey in the battleground state's Senate election on Friday. McCormick's campaign has declared victory, but Casey has not conceded the race, as Democrats note there are still some outstanding ballots, and the race may end up within the threshold for an automatic recount. The Associated Press projected McCormick as the winner, with 97 percent of the vote counted. [SNIP] On Friday, McCormick's campaign filed a legal challenge to 15,000 to 20,000 provisional ballots in Philadelphia.

New York City can’t use an unconstitutional, two-century-old “anti-pauper” law to block the state of Texas from offering migrants free bus rides to the city from the southern border, a state judge has ruled. The court on Thursday dismissed a lawsuit brought by Mayor Eric Adams in January against charter bus companies contracted by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott. It sought to bar them from knowingly dropping off “needy persons,” citing an 1817 state law that criminalized bringing an indigent person into the state “for the purpose of making him a public charge.” Justice Mary Rosado said in a sternly worded decision that the law is unconstitutional for several reasons.

After President-elect Trump's victory, Iran must now prepare to contend with the man it's been trying to assassinate for years. Tehran had reportedly been interfering in the U.S. election on behalf of Vice President Kamala Harris. But with former Trump’s win, the regime will have to prepare for a U.S. leader who is, at the very least, a wild card. On Wednesday, the Telegram channel of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IGRC), its military force, posted a video threatening to kill Trump. It ended with footage of a bloodied Trump and the words "We will finish the job."

Nikki Haley, a failed presidential candidate and former ambassador to the United Nations, tried to smear President-elect Donald Trump as “shallow” after he stated he would not offer her a position in his second administration. The comment appears to expose Haley’s resentment of Trump, who defeated her in the 2024 Republican presidential primary race. Haley dropped out in March after Super Tuesday. She eventually said she would vote for Trump over Vice President Kamala Harris in the months leading up to Election Day, but the endorsement did not cause Trump to bring Haley on the campaign trail as a surrogate, angering many establishment Republicans.
