It is official. The 97th Oscars have a host and his name is Conan O’Brien.
The Emmy Award-winning television host, writer, producer and comedian will be the sole host for the 97th Academy Awards on March 2, 2025, Academy CEO Bill Kramer and Academy President Janet Yang announced today. It will be O’Brien’s first time hosting the broadcast.

Whoop-de-doo! I made the mistake of watching this garbage once, back in 2002. Never again will I be subjected to Whoopi Goldberg wondering where are all the black hobbits!

Huh, "brilliant humour"? Only if you are in seventh grade.

And I'll continue to not watch. Arrogant, nasty crazies giving each other awards is not interesting.

An un-funny host of a non-serious award ceremony in front of woke, untalented actors and actresses preening for each other on a channel that no one will watch.

I barely know the names of any actors at this point. Ditto for comedians. I haven't watch the Academy Awards since before Clinton was elected. I don't foresee a future where I would ever care about them again, but I could be surprised.
Just like the NFL, once I gave it up I could no longer see the appeal of it any more.
I never did like Bud Light, or PayPal. Amazon is harder.

The last time I remember watching the Oscars was the year (1992?) when Silence of the Lambs got several golden statues. Very entertaining. Conan O'Brien once made a comment that tickled me about the bad, bad city where my paternal grandmother was born: Camden, New Jersey, long infamous for its high crime rate. (My great grandfather moved his family to Philadelphia as soon as he could, around the turn of the Twentieth Century century.) O'Brien, aware of Camden's lofty reputation, said that it was "the New Jersey of New Jersey." LOL

The last time I watched the Oscars was on a B&W TV on the only tv station in town.
I have no intention of ever watching it again.

Conan can be very funny. I hope he stays away from politics and looks to Billy Crystal for hosting tips.

The Oscars jumped the shark a long time ago. Nobody goes to the movies anymore, so the awards have been reduced to a bunch of celebutards slapping each other on the back.

If the host was Billy Crystal I would watch it. Genuine humor versus goofy humor of Conan.

I haven't seen a movie in the theater for years! I wouldn't know any of the nominated movies to begin with. Why would I waste my time watching something I don't care about??
