The Election Is Looming — and These
Washingtonians Are Running Scared

Kate Brown moved to Washington for politics. But on election week, she’s leaving town for the same reason. “I just want to get the eff out of Dodge,” Brown told me recently. “I don’t feel like dealing with it.” “It,” in this case, doesn’t mean the tension of working an election. Brown does marketing and communications for mostly libertarian policy wonks, and election week isn’t exactly a busy time for book talks and white papers. Instead, she’s worried about safety — though she can’t quite picture exactly what the threat looks like. “I’m not entirely sure what’s going to happen,”

They should be afraid - VERY afraid - of starving or having to move back to flyover country. But more importantly they should polish whatever exists as far as a resume. They might not even be able to secure jobs as dogcatchers. Trash collectors maybe since they are already such.

When Trump wins I believe there will be violence and start watching out for yourself. At one time in my life I never ran from anything but I’m thinking about staying home the day after the election, it’s probably a good idea.

That's an easy one, Kate. A Harris "win" will be followed by shocked silence and a feeble search for the cheaters hindered by the DOJ. A Trump win will produce burning cities, injuries, killings, suicides and howling at the moon. Yeah, I would leave town too.

They must figure that Trump is gonna win and the mostly peaceful protests from those on the loony left will destroy the city. I can't remember any cities burning due to protests by those on the right side of the political spectrum.

Former President Donald Trump announced Sunday his support for a tax credit for family members who care for an ill parent or loved one. Trump unveiled his policy proposal at his historic rally at a sold-out Madison Square Garden. “I’m announcing a new policy today that I will support a tax credit for family caregivers who take care of a parent or a loved one. It’s about time that they were recognized, right?” Trump said, drawing a roar of cheers from the crowd. “They add so much to our country and are never spoken of — ever, ever, ever — but they’re going to be spoken of now.

The Madison Square Garden rally for President Donald Trump has been rocking. We reported earlier about the massive crowds trying to get in, some of whom had been there since Saturday morning and had stayed overnight. The Democrats, including vice presidential nominee Tim Walz, equated it to a Nazi rally held in MSG in 1939. We also reported how that was belied by the very people there, with many Jewish people--including a Holocaust survivor who had decried the despicable Hitler references that Kamala Harris had been tossing around. Then the whole narrative about the comparisons is stupid because MSG had four different venues; it's not even the same

David French’s current New York Times column is the manifesto of a self-described Never Trumper. French recounts the four lessons he claims to have learned from his nine years of opposition to Trump. They seem to me to be deeply deluded. Lesson number one is that “Community is more powerful than ideology.” French’s point here is that Trump is not a Reaganite purist, but nevertheless has been embraced by the Republican Party. But French completely fails to acknowledge the many ways in which Trump aligns, ideologically, with the Republicanism that has been mainstream since the 1980s.

NEW YORK — Former President Donald Trump cemented his image as the biggest showman in U.S. politics by bringing his Make America Great Again road show to the world’s most iconic arena. Taking a detour from crucial battleground states, Mr. Trump, joined by a star-studded cast of surrogates, told the thousands who flocked to see him at New York’s Madison Square Garden that the election is a stark choice between the status quo’s “gross incompetence” and the dawn of the “four greatest years in the history of our country.” “I’m thrilled to be back in the city I love,” Mr. Trump said. “I’d like to begin by asking a very simple question:

The natural cynic in me is loathe to ever partake in analyzing early voting numbers, but there is one exception. Jon Ralston has a long history of breaking down the data in Nevada and has proven that his model should be taken seriously. With that said, it's panic time for Kamala Harris. Ralston has released his latest blog on the early returns, and they paint a picture of a race slipping away from the Harris campaign. Things are so bad that she'd now need to dramatically overperform with independents to make up the difference. Republicans have increased their statewide lead to 31,000. That’s right at 5 percent.

Over 100 planes were involved in the attack on Iran on Saturday, including the cutting-edge F-35. Israel’s preliminary strike on radar targets in Syria was aimed at “blinding” Iran’s capabilities, quickly escalating into an offensive targeting Tehran and Karaj, Iran’s capital and another strategic location. The IDF confirmed the operation focused strictly on military targets, steering clear of nuclear and oil facilities to prevent wider conflict escalation. High alert remains as Israel anticipates potential retaliation, not only from Iran. This large-scale assault involved over 100 aircraft, including F-35 “Adir” stealth fighters, traveling approximately 2,000 kilometers. According to foreign reports, strikes focused on Tehran and Karaj,

At this time of a probable losing national campaign, when the number of days left to catch up slowly dwindles close to single digits, campaign aides, surrogates, and party leaders begin the process of forming the traditional circular firing squad. These are political professionals whose cred rests solely on their track record. There are no points for finishing second. It is vital to their future employment prospects that they avoid the stink of defeat at all costs. Hence, finger-pointing. Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris over judgment, character and mental fitness. It is gender. Not a joke, not a hyperbole, not about Democrat or Republican. Everyone is wondering what will happen on November 5. Will Trump win the election? Or will the Democrats, aided by their Deep State operatives in the FBI and CIA, manage to “fortify” the election once again? This may surprise you, but I think he’ll win—although that’s not the end of the story, and there’s not necessarily a happy ending. Two months ago, I didn’t think Trump would win. I was confident that the same “cabal” of Deep State cronies Time Magazine wrote about in 2021—the secret junta that really rules America—would never allow Trump to win in a fair election.

Former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Mark Milley, recently called Donald Trump a “fascist to the core” and “a wannabe dictator.” That such a senior military leader would feel comfortable saying this about his former boss is remarkable given that similar statements by officers have, in the past, resulted in severe punishment. The U.S. Constitution makes the president—the only democratically elected leader in the chain of command—commander in chief. Military leaders serving under the president owe him both deference and respect, regardless of whether their policy preferences differ.

He’s comfortable here. Maybe he’d like to sleep in his own bed.” Hochul contrasted Trump’s rally with Vice President Harris’s itinerary. She’s campaigning in the critical battleground state of Pennsylvania. Trump will be going to his “known, familiar” environment, but it won’t serve him on the campaign trail, Hochul argued.

The oil giant is deceiving regulators and consumers with claims that all plastics are recyclable and its “advanced recycling” processes keep enormous amounts of plastics out of landfills. This is her first campaign appearance apart from the DNC in August, and we're almost at the election. She scarcely could have done less. But to be fair, surrogates Barack Obama and Bill Clinton haven't been doing well for Kamala either. They seem to be accidentally throwing her under the bus and stepping in it more than helping her. Barack basically attacked black men for not being sufficiently supportive of her and suggested they were misogynistic.

Former First Lady Michelle Obama has hit the campaign trail for Vice President Kamala Harris — but critics are panning her 11th-hour sales pitch as “racist” and “sexist” and saying that her words reveal more about her than they do about Harris. Obama ignored the possibility that Harris — who catapulted to the top of the Democratic ticket on the tidal wave of President Joe Biden’s ouster from the race — was simply a weak and unlikable candidate, and instead argued that the voters were the only possible weak link in the chain. That, she claimed, was the result of racism and sexism in the electorate.
