TDS And The Media’s Agitation Of Mental Disorders

Original Article

America has a mental health problem. The Boston Globe reported this week on a “mental health crisis in Rhode Island schools.” A Lafayette, Louisiana, news outlet reported on a “mental health crisis” in the state’s jails. In the upper Midwest, a handful of American Indian tribes claim social media is causing mental health problems among tribal children. Worrisome as these and other reports are, things could get exponentially worse. One analysis of what may lie ahead comes from former ABC News Political Director Mark Halperin. During an October 15 interview with Tucker Carlson, Halperin was asked how Democrats might react in the event Donald Trump wins a second term.

I think unresolve guilt lies at the bottom of it. It is easy to see how people troubled by unconfessed guilt over past abortions or sexual transgressions might want to pose as victims fighting oppression to feel better about themselves. You can also see how people addicted to the government dole or prospering from government favoritism like union members or crony capitalists might similarly rationalize how they deserve it for this or that reason. When any of these people's self-serving belief system is challenged by conservative policy proposals they feel threatened personally and double down. You can see how this leads to irrationality and a flight from reality and reason. Communist organizers have learned how to feed into this with supportive rhetoric and rationales to gain their support.

Welp, look who's back in the news. I reported on Friday about the continued decline of Michael Cohen, a one-time personal lawyer of former President Donald Trump. In a nutshell, Trump Derangement has so ravaged Cohen's bitterly obsessed mind that he continues to publicly embarrass himself in absurd — yet hilarious — ways. For example, as I covered in a Friday article, Cohen appeared on Thursday's episode of MSNBC's “Deadline” to warn that if Trump wins the presidential election, he will do "exactly what he says he will do ... rewrite the Constitution. And he is going to destroy our tripartite system, get rid of the judiciary,

Kamala Harris was offered an opportunity to finally work at a McDonald's restaurant but never responded to the invite, a statement circulating on social media indicates. A franchisee on X posted what they describe as "an internal statement to the McDonald’s system from the US Senior Leadership Team" regarding Donald Trump's visit to a McDonald’s in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. They describe the memo as "100% real." By now, most of our readers know that Trump swapped out his suit jacket over the weekend with an apron and proceeded to work the fryers and the drive-thru section at the fast food restaurant. Pretty much everything Donald Trump does triggers the left and their media allies. That certainly was the case in the aftermath of his visit to a Pennsylvania McDonald's where, as we reported, the GOP presidential nominee seemed in his element while working the fry station and interacting with employees and drive-thru customers. Indeed, wahmbulances have been on standby for the Usual Suspects who, among other things, have suggested this whole thing, which appeared to go over well, was no big deal because presidential candidates "frying food" for the cameras was not a new thing, although we're hard-pressed to find another example in modern history

Democrats publicly said that Trump was goaded into the June debate. Biden issued an “anytime, anywhere” challenge to Trump, and did so while Trump was on trial in New York. Joe said, “I understand you’re free on Wednesday,” which was an insult line written for him. Trump’s trial had an off day on Wednesday. The challenge was best remembered for multiple cuts. Apparently, it took Biden five takes (edits) to get a 14-second challenge. But he got it right. Sort of. [Tweet, video] Trump accepted. The stage was set and the rules agreed to.

More North Carolina residents turned out to vote on the first day of early voting than in 2020, according to a report from the Associated Press. This comes as residents in the Tar Heel State are dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, which claimed the lives of over 200 people. Reportedly, all but four of the early voting sites planned for the 25 counties impacted by the storm were open for voting (via AP): Preliminary data shows a record 353,166 people cast ballots at more than 400 early voting sites statewide on Thursday, compared to 348,599 on the first day in October 2020, the State Board of Elections said Friday.

Betteridge's Law of Headlines asser that "Any headline that ends in a question mark can be answered by the word no," but there are exceptions. This story might just be one of those exceptions. As the entire world knows by now, Donald Trump spent a little time this weekend "working" at a McDonald's drive-thru in Feasterville-Trevose, Pennsylvania. It was a campaign event, so of course it was staged, but the Left's outrage — I'm not even sure it's feigned — told you everything you need to know about how effective it was to see a billionaire former/future POTUS appearing so cheerful and confident working the crowd and the fryer.

On Friday, though, Vice President Harris spoke about attacks on the freedom to vote, and she specifically referenced the state of Georgia. Former President Trump nearly broke the internet when he arrived for a Sunday shift at a Pennsylvania-area McDonald’s and worked the drive-thru window. The campaign stop underscores allegations that Vice President Kamala Harris never worked at a McDonald’s during her college career as she apparently claimed on her resume. “Hello everybody,” Trump said walking into the store. He then took off his jacket and donned a black and yellow apron. “I like it all,” Trump replied when asked what his favorite item is on the menu. “I like every everything, but I do like the french fries.” Trump also mocked Harris’s alleged employment at the fast-food restaurant.

Canada sure seems to be a popular destination for Americans who suddenly find themselves in a position where leaving the United States is a good idea - at least in their fevered imaginations. The problem is, these people, who are almost exclusively creatures of the loony left (yes, I know that's a redundancy) almost never follow through on their threats. On Friday, Politico gave us some examples from Michigan - and these people are daffy. “Oh, God, she has to win: I don’t want to live in a Trumpian hellscape,” said Erin Conklin, a 62-year-old retired homemaker and artist. “We might have to leave: Canada, if they’ll take us.”

I officially retired from the US Army on 1 August 2004 and vividly recall sitting and watching the 2004 Democratic National Committee convention. At that convention, a fella named Barack Hussein Obama gave the keynote speech. He had just become a State Senator in Illinois. Angela and I listened to a rousing, emotional, rhetorical speech using the southern pastoral iambic pentameter rhythm and said to each other...this is the guy the Democrats are going to run for President. We were correct in our assessment from 2004. We all witnessed a meteoric rise of someone whom we had no idea of who they were. As a matter of fact, Obama once

“Even if you flippin’ fries at McDonald’s,” Oprah Winfrey once said, “if you are excellent, everybody wants to be in your line.” I thought of this quote when Donald Trump turned up yesterday at a McDonald’s restaurant in suburban Philadelphia to do a shift making French fries, then handing bags of food to drive-through customers. The trip to McDonald’s in Bucks County, where the former president made French fries and served customers, is causing the Left to melt down, and it’s over the dumbest reason. The man was shot in July, with another lunatic waiting to take shots at him as he golfed in West Palm Beach, Florida, in September. Once in a great while, what happens at the bottom of the ballot can reshape a state’s political future for decades to come. While New Yorkers on Election Day will vote on the controversial “Equal Rights Amendment,” Ohio is ground zero for an effort to wrest control away from the people and give it to unelected, Fauci-like bureaucrats to achieve “redistricting reform.” And the movement is anything but organic: It’s an out-of-state (and even international) attempt by left-wing politicians to trick voters into rewriting our state constitution by passing Issue 1.
