‘Progressive’ California At War With Progress

Much has been made, as it should have been, about the stark differences with Elon Musk’s SpaceX and the once-great NASA’s pathetic woke-DEI-politically correct existence. Musk wins on merit, but in California, that’s not what counts. So Musk has been vilified because he dared to leave the progressive plantation. SpaceX has been launching rockets from the Vandenberg Air Force base in Santa Barbara County for more than a decade. It wants to increase the number of annual launches from six to 36, and maybe even more. The Air Force has no problem with the plans. The California Coastal Commission does. It voted 6-4 last week to block the increase.

Given the commissar's admission that the refusal was due to his exercising his First Amendment rights, this should be a very short lawsuit.

The take-home here is that Caryl Hart believes that people should not be involved with politics (though she is), Gretchen Newsim does not believe NC should have internet communications during their life-threatening emergency, and Mike Wilson does not believe premium products should be developed (may he drive a yogi). What a pile. It is no wonder that Ca had lost its luster

"...while claiming his desire to help the hurricane victims with free Starlink access to the internet,” said Alternate Commissioner Gretchen Newsom." Starlink was a line in the FEMA budget until Democrats cancelled it because Elon's company was too large and crowded up smaller and diverse companies.

There is no more free speech in California. There is only state-approved speech. And they are pretty darn proud of it, if you watched the videos of that Coastal Commission hearing and the smugness of the commissars. After his lawsuit, I hope Musk uses the money to buy California back from the communists.

Why do these California Coastal Clowns have anything to say about what happens on a FEDERAL Air Force base? This is like some HOA blocking a federal highway project. These puke are way out of their league.

Interesting that it's the California Coastal Commission which is objecting to the increase in the number of flights which then provides the cover for the Democrats in California. Wonder if the CCC also makes the decisions for the Ports in SD, LA, Long Beach, Hueneme and Oakland when the ocean carriers decide to add strings to their service offerings too.

Understanding the Dramatic Jewish Shift

The Jewish vote is, for the first time since Reagan beat Carter 44 years ago, likely to be close. Considering that Hillary Clinton garnered over 70% of the Jewish vote in 2016, and Trump less than one-fourth, this is a tectonic shift in Jewish allegiance away from Democrats. But it’s not hard to understand why even Jews with leftist leanings are reevaluating their loyalties this year. As a community rabbi, director of a popular Jewish study center that attracts Jews from all backgrounds, and an officer of the largest rabbinic public policy organization in America, I am very well acquainted with local and national Jewish thought.

As the latest polls Sunday showed Donald Trump and Kamala Harris neck and neck with just 23 days to go until the presidential election, Democratic spinmeisters are trying to calm the bedwetters, and Barack Obama has been dispatched to scold black men for not being impressed by his protégé. But as uncomfortably close as this election is, one thing is certain: Tim Walz has to be the worst VP pick on record, in stark contrast to JD Vance. If Harris loses, her self-indulgent decision to reject popular Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro in favor of a running mate even dumber than she is,

Revolutionary Guards commander Esmail Qaani, commanding officer of Iran's crack Quds Force, has not been seen in public since the September 27 air strike that killed Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah. Media sources in the Middle East have conflicting accounts of General Qaani's whereabouts. However, several sources report that he's under investigation for his ties to Israel. The Arabic-language al-Arabiya network reported that Mr. Qaani “is under surveillance and isolation, following the Israeli assassinations of prominent Iranian leaders.” Another report from Sky News says that Qaani suffered a heart attack while being questioned about the recent spate of intelligence failures in Iran.

Former President Barack Obama on Thursday admonished Black men reluctant to support Democratic nominee Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election, suggesting some aren't rallying behind her because she is a woman. Obama's stern remarks, delivered to supporters at a Harris campaign office in Pittsburgh, came as polling shows former President Donald Trump, the Republican 2024 nominee, has made slight inroads with Black males, particularly young Black men. Democrats also worry about signs of lagging Black turnout next month even as the country could elect the first Black woman president in U.S. history.

Nearly 450 7-Eleven stores across North America are closing for underperforming, according to the company. Seven & I Holdings, 7-Eleven’s Japan-based parent company, announced in an earnings report Thursday that 444 7-Eleven stores are closing because of a dip in sales, particularly cigarette sales, as well as decreased traffic and inflation. A list of which stores will be closing was not released. 7-Eleven has 13,000 stores across the U.S. and Canada, which means the closures would only impact 3% of the company’s portfolio. The convenience store chain has faced six consecutive months of traffic declines, including a 7.3% dip in August.

Between 2017 and 2019, just about the only story Washington cared about was whether Donald Trump would be nailed by the Justice Department for treason. After all, he had worked with Vladimir Putin and his cronies to win the White House, hadn’t he? And yet, at the end of a three-year investigation into this supposed collusion, Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s team charged no American with conspiring with Russia to influence the election. His final report said the investigation “did not establish that members of the Trump campaign conspired or coordinated with the Russian government in its election interference activities.”

Former President Obama is drawing backlash for recent comments calling on Black men to turn out for Vice President Harris in November’s election. At a campaign stump for Harris on Thursday in Pittsburgh, Obama said that despite Harris raising upward of $1 billion, “we have not yet seen the same kinds of energy and turnout in all quarters of our neighborhoods and communities as we saw when I was running.” That lag in energy, he added, appears “to be more pronounced with the brothers.” “You’re coming up with all kinds of reasons and excuses; I’ve got a problem with that,” he said. “Because part of it makes me think -

Bob Woodward has a new book, War, about the inner dynamics of the Biden White House, some of which you probably guessed to be true in the long four years we’ve suffered under this man. It paints a picture that’s become familiar: an angry old man, not in control, and holding seething resentment toward pretty much everyone, including Barack Obama. It captures the baffling arrogance of Mr. Biden, who has never done anything remotely significant to earn such a demeanor.

Maybe the primary complaint against Kamala Harris is that voters don’t know who she is nor where she stands on issues, given her flip-flopping-for-votes campaign. But we can be sure that her instincts are to bridle the economy rather than unleash it. Not many weeks ago, we argued that Harris’ Marxist roots, from both her mother and father, inform her economic positions. It should be kept in mind whenever looking at her economic proposals. Without giving her economic positions a label, Harris, who has spoken appreciatively of the impact her parents had on her, is definitively, though not necessarily nominally, a Marxist.

WASHINGTON — Vice President Kamala Harris angrily dodged questions on border policy, Iran and President Biden’s fitness for office in an contentious interview with Fox News host Bret Baier — as more polls showed her losing the initiative in the race for the White House. The 26-minute interview with the Democratic nominee kicked off with a tense grilling by Baier on immigration policy — with Harris repeatedly refusing to say that terminating former President Donald Trump’s “Remain in Mexico” policy was a mistake. Baier’s first question schooled Harris about the effects of the current administration’s more permissive policies, which allow many illegal border-crossers to await asylum rulings inside the US, before asking

What happened Wednesday night to Kamala Harris on Fox News may have been the equivalent to what happened to President Joe Biden at that infamous debate in June — irreparably exposed her as unacceptable to voters. Remarkably, she offered nothing new in terms of her weak, often confusing answers to obvious questions, but she did finally face probing lines of inquiry and necessary follow-up

Vice President Kamala Harris is adding to her recent “media blitz” that until now has included stops at mostly friendly news outlets, talk shows and podcasts (which the Democratic presidential nominee has still inexplicably managed to bomb). Yet, this week, she’s shaking things up and doing her first ever sit-down interview with Fox News. The interview will take place Wednesday with Fox News anchor Bret Baier. Baier has said that he won't treat Harris with kid gloves during their conversation, and that any editing of the interview will only be for “timing” and that “no topic is off the table.” Sounds promising.
