The Secret Service in America not only failed to protect President Trump from nearly getting assassinated on two occasions, but it’s so discombobulated that agents are now shooting themselves.
WUSA 9 revealed today that a United States Secret Service (USSS) agent was on duty Saturday evening right before 8 p.m. when he “negligently” discharged his weapon and shot himself. The incident reportedly happened near 32nd and Fessenden Streets in northwest Washington, DC.
He was taken to a local hospital for treatment and is expected to recover from his injuries. The Secret Service is not making any further details public at this time as they plan to investigate what happened.

I think the Secret Service should be renamed Kamala's Keystone Kops or KKK for short.

From the article: "These inexcusable breaches were made possible by former DEI-loving Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle. Reports have revealed that instead of hiring the best possible agents, Cheatle has focused on ensuring more non-white and female agents regardless of qualifications."
"Her replacement, acting director Ronald Rowe, has refused to fix these glaring issues and is now on the hot seat with Congress and the public."
Possibly recruiting from South Side Chicago.

Anyone who carries a gun should be very well trained in its use, including disassembly, cleaning, and practicing the right things on the range, with professional instruction as necessary. Without exception, all safety rules should always be obeyed, and accidents like these wouldn't happen. I don't know what type of pistol this agent shot himself with, but maybe he needs to look into a Glock (three internal safeties) with the proper holster. First generation Sig P320s are thought to have been prone to negligent discharges, and many were recalled. A number of owners, mostly police, took a bullet in the leg. Ow.
Another report stated that the USSS agent who fired at would be assassin Routh when he poked his SKS (Chinese variant of the AK-47) barrel out of the hedge, was within ten feet of him. If he was that close, how did he miss? And why did a civilian witness, not government agents, provide the necessary information leading to Routh's arrest on I-95 some fifty miles north of West Palm Beach?

They carry Glock 19s. The typical idiot move is to reholster with your trigger finger still inside the trigger guard.
This is a huge safety violation. Finger meets holster edge, trigger finger is pushed into the trigger. Bang. Lots of blood.
When not ACTUALLY pulling the trigger, the trigger finger MUST be straight, resting on the frame of the gun.
This is taught in Firearms 101.

Years ago, I worked at a nuclear facility that had a serious guard force. Every unauthorized discharge of a weapon was investigated and usually resulted in the guard being separated from the force. Several guards were fired while I was there.

Re #5. The SKS is totally unrelated to the AK rifle. Literally, the only thing the have in common is the cartridge.
SKS is semiauto only, 10 round fixed magazine. AKs take 30 rd replaceable mags and in military service they are full auto.
Neither noted for accuracy.

This almost never happens with revolvers. Carry one in the chamber of an automatic and its just a matter of time.

This wouldn't have happened if the agent had left that the one bullet that he was issued in his pocket.
