As Democrats revel in Vice President Harris closing the polling gap against former President Trump, speculation is ramping up over who might serve in a potential Harris Cabinet if she prevails in November. Any Cabinet appointee would likely face a razor-thin Democratic-controlled or GOP-controlled Senate, meaning Harris would have to balance partisan realities with her desire to break the mold with her choices, like naming the first woman to head the Pentagon.“I’m sure it will be very diverse. I think it will be a mix of people who have been around Washington for a while in these kinds of roles because she respects that,

A gas explosion in a coalmine in Iran’s South Khorasan province has killed at least 51 people and injured 20, Iran’s state media said. The accident was caused by a methane gas explosion in two blocks, B and C, of the mine run by the Madanjoo company, state media said on Sunday. The governor of South Khorasan province, Ali Akbar Rahimi, told state TV: “Seventy-six per cent of the country’s coal is provided from this region and around eight to 10 big companies are working in the region, including Madanjoo company.”

No Republican has won statewide in New Mexico for 10 years. A series of ad buys from multiple political action groups aims to change that this November. Earlier this month, the Piñon Post, a conservative state paper, reported on a new commercial campaign attempting to spoil Democrats’ expectation to maintain the state’s five electoral votes for Kamala Harris and reelect Sen. Martin Heinrich. The ads from a group called Election Freedom, Inc., attack Heinrich and Harris over inflation and the incumbent border crisis.

A very simple ballot counting rule was affirmed by the Georgia election board on Friday in a 3-2 vote. The “hand count” ballot rule (183-1:12) is very basic and simple. Essentially it says all the paper ballots must be hand counted and matched to the number of people recorded electronically to the vote. Example, if 1,000 votes are electronically counted, there should be 1,000 physical ballots to match. This is not complicated and will not take much time. The ballots are not being checked for voting accuracy, or vote recording/candidate specifics.

He’s the NYPD’s oldest retired gumshoe, still plays the harmonica and remembers the day he met famed bank robber Willie Sutton — who happened to be half-naked at the time. Howard Bach, who turned 100 in July, joined the police force in 1948 after serving as a US sailor for four years on the USS Mississippi in the Pacific during World War II. He retired from the NYPD in 1978 after 30 years on the job. “It was quite an experience,” Bach told The Post of his NYPD career.

Hypocrite, thy name is Varma. Believe it or not, it takes a lot for the blue-state diehards of the Big Apple to start paying attention to a conservative commentator. But when Steven Crowder published a secretly recorded video, it cut right through the jugular of our political divides, exposing the open hatred we seem to all share for one type of villain. This human nature is best explained by the poet Dante in The Inferno. Past the heretics, far-beyond the gluttons and usurers, and even below the murderers and blasphemers, the eighth circle of hell is the realm of false prophets and hypocrites.

Federal authorities raided the home of NYPD Interim Commissioner Thomas Donlon on Friday — just over a week after his predecessor, Edward Caban, resigned following an FBI raid at his residence. Donlon admitted to the search in a brief statement released by the department late Saturday night — saying that authorities “took materials that came into my possession 20 years ago and are unrelated to my work with the New York City Police Department.” He added that the department would not be commenting further, as it’s not an NYPD matter.

Some weeks there’s not much of great importance. Others, like this week, there is almost too much to absorb, but in my view the key items are the destruction of the terrorist Hezb’allah organization, the vacuity of Kamala Harris and the media’s great efforts to glide her into office while hiding her agenda, the pernicious ruling class and why they have forfeited our trust, and lastly, the pending scandal which ties celebrities and key Democrats to sex trafficking and racketeering.

A man named Steve Rosenberg, who is a Jewish Democrat from Pennsylvania, recently appeared on FOX News to explain why he is supporting Trump and why he believes other Jewish voters should do the same. He clearly trusts Trump to deal with the conflict in the Middle East and the rising antisemitism in the United States. As Scott Jennings recently pointed out on CNN, the antisemitism we are seeing in this country right now is coming from the left. Jewish voters have typically been part of the Democrat coalition but that may change this year.

One benchmark I've always applied in judging a public figure's intelligence is their ability to speak extemporaneously. Ronald Reagan was good at it, as was Bill Clinton. George W. Bush was only fair, and off of the teleprompter, Barack Obama was pretty bad. Joe Biden never was any good at it, even before he went senile. Kamala Harris, when she attempts to speak, is an absolute train wreck. Her word salads are legendary; her delivery is stilted and awful, interspersed with her annoying, nervous cackle. She attempts to come across as smart and well-informed

It is perhaps belaboring the obvious to note that the United States hasn't always given the original inhabitants of much of our territory a fair shake. That's history, and those people are long gone now - but some members of the lesser-known native groups are still fighting for recognition. One of these is North Carolina's Lumbee tribe, which is recognized by the state of North Carolina but not by the federal government. At a rally in North Carolina on Saturday, former President Donald Trump promised to sign legislation granting the Lumbee federal recognition. Vice President Kamala Harris’ senior advisor, Keisha Lance Bottoms, gave a lame excuse for why the Democratic presidential candidate rarely gives interviews or speaks with the press. “She’s too busy” to do media interviews, Bottoms claimed. CNN’s Jake Tapper grilled the former Atlanta mayor, who wanted to know why Harris isn’t "sitting down for regular interviews or fielding questions from the press” compared to former President Donald Trump, who is in front of the cameras nearly daily.

She has launched her presidential campaign on a platform of taking on corporate wrongdoing and clamping down on billionaires. But in practice, Kamala Harris is seeking advice from the same big business leaders she claims to be raging against. It's a heck of a thing, to be in a line of endeavor that may not only place one's self in danger but also one's family. That is, nonetheless, the position former (and, we can hope, future) President Donald Trump finds himself in today. Fox News host Brian Kilmeade’s brand-new interview with former President Donald Trump will be appearing exclusively on "One Nation," Saturday night. One of the things that is most challenging for Kamala Harris is how to paint herself as a "change agent," when she's part of the Biden-Harris administration. Most Americans find that the administration has been a failure, and don't want four more years of it. So, what does she do when she is the effective incumbent? Harris and her running mate Tim Walz are bizarrely trying to paint former President Donald Trump as the incumbent, and themselves as the "new way forward." It's basically trying to turn reality on its head. She can't afford to be clear about their own radical policies;

Vice President Kamala Harris has decided to dodge former president Trump and skip this year’s Al Smith Dinner — a major election year event that generations of candidates have attended — becoming the first presidential hopeful to duck out since failed presidential wannabe Walter Mondale in 1984. While Trump has agreed to go to the 79th iteration of the Archdiocese of New York’s dinner on Oct. 17, Harris’s camp says she will instead campaign in key battleground states on the final stretch before election day, her campaign told The Post.

Democrats are losing their advantage over Republicans regarding requests for mail-in voting in the 2024 presidential election, according to recent data. A chart created by Eric Daugherty, the assistant news director with Florida’s Voice, showed that in Florida, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania, Democrats were experiencing a downward trend in the number of requests for mail-in ballots compared to the same time in 2020. Daugherty’s chart cited Michael Pruser, a writer with DecisionDeskHQ, and John Couvillon, the founder of JMC Analytics and Polling, as sources.
