The man in custody in connection with what is being described as a second attempt to assassinate former President Donald Trump was vocal about U.S. support for Ukraine and has a long criminal and civil court history, including a conviction for possessing a machine gun.
Ryan Wesley Routh, 58, was taken into custody after shots were fired at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida, on Sunday, three senior law enforcement sources said. In 2002, court records show, he was convicted of possessing a weapon of mass destruction — the machine gun.

There are several great issues on which the presidential election (and Congressional elections, too) should turn.
One is our out of control national debt, which promises to first hamstring our government, then bankrupt us. But no one is talking about it.
Another is America’s deteriorating military readiness. The Europeans are scrambling to defend themselves against possible Russian attack; that in itself is a good thing. But they are doing it in large part because they believe that we no longer have the level of readiness needed to come to their aid. Trump hints at this issue occasionally, but that is about it.

The attempted assassination of Donald Trump on Sunday afternoon in Florida, just nine weeks after a previous attempt in Butler, Pa., has reignited concerns about the violent and hateful rhetoric coming from the political left.
Mere days before Trump was shot in Butler, Joe Biden declared, “It’s time to put Trump in the bullseye.” Of course, that's just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the violent rhetoric from the left.
For years, Biden and the Democratic Party have relentlessly compared Trump to Hitler, branding him a threat to democracy and a would-be dictator. Such rhetoric has continued to this day. Kamala Harris has been using incendiary

As we exposed earlier, the Regime Media have wasted no time in blaming former President Donald Trump’s “rhetoric” for the second assassination attempt against him. The evening newscasts have now picked up MSNBC’s lead, tying the attempted shooting to the “dogs and cats rhetoric coming out of Springfield, Ohio. Watch as Linsey Davis, in her return to the Whirled News Tonight anchor chair since her horrendous moderation of the ABC presidential debate, ties the aborted assassination attempt to Springfield in her opening rundown: embed linsey LINSEY DAVIS: Tonight, breaking news as we come on the air. David Frum, a prominent “Never Trump” pundit and former speechwriter for President George W. Bush, claimed that former President Donald Trump and his running mate Sen. JD Vance (R-OH) “want to present themselves as near-victims of violence” following the second assassination attempt against Trump that transpired on Sunday.
“Trump and his running mate have spent the past week successfully inciting violence in Springfield, Ohio. Today they want to present themselves as near-victims of violence — in this case, of violence completely unrelated to themselves and at a very safe distance from themselves,” Frum wrote in a Sunday X post.

Sunday, following a reported second assassination attempt on Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, Rep. Tim Burchett (R-TN) placed the blame on the left for an increase in vitriolic rhetoric.
According to the Tennessee Republican, Democrats were inciting those who he described as “on the edge,” and they knew “exactly what they were doing.”
“[C]learly, we have got to be careful because the power of suggestion is what we’re seeing right now,” he said. “The left has just ramped up their vitriol. You’ve seen the tweets that y’all are saying something about ‘they need to learn how to aim better’ and things like that. Those are the types of things that incite

Reverend Dr. Jacqui Lewis said on MSNBC’s broadcast of “The Saturday Show” that former President Donald Trump is “exactly like” Nazi leader Adolf Hitler.
Host Jonathan Capehart said, “Give me your response to what Donald Trump is doing?”
Lewis said, “It’s outrageous but expected by an authoritarian who wants to take us to Nazi Germany. We exploited racism, fascism to Nazi Germany. We know how to do it.”
She continued, “Let’s not pretend that Donald Trump isn’t exactly like Mussolini, exactly like Hitler, he is that guy. I want to say something to the American people. I live in a neighborhood, Jonathan.

Representative Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) said Sunday on MSNBC’s “Inside” that MAGA is a domestic threat that former President Donald Trump is stoking them.
Crockett said, “Springfield is going through hell, but they are going through hell because the guy who says he wants to be the commander-in-chief is actually bringing that hell to their footsteps. He decided amplify a lie on a national debate stage and that harming American citizens and that is a problem. When I talk about MAGA, I talk about the fact that when we finally swore in, we swore to defend against those that are coming against us, whether they are domestic or international. Right now,

After the second attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump in nine weeks, Republicans reacted to the news.
Trump’s running mate, Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio) sounded wistful as he expressed his relief that Trump wasn’t hurt. Congressional leaders weighed in. House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) and his wife visited Trump at Mar-a-Lago, while Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) called for federal investigations into the assassination attempt: House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-La.), himself the victim of an assassination attempt, called out the Secret Service and other authorities for not doing enough to keep Trump safe:

Fox News has reported that the alleged suspect in the second Trump assassination attempt is Ryan Wesley Routh, as we reported earlier.
He allegedly aimed a rifle through the fence on the golf course where Trump was. He was about 300-500 yards away. Law enforcement claimed he had an AK-47 with a scope and and a Go-Pro camera at the fence. He also had a bag with ceramic plates. The Secret Service fired at him and he fled in a black SUV. A citizen saw him and took a picture of his license which the citizen gave to police. The suspect was later caught on the highway

The ABC News debate between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris failed to move the needle in the presidential election, ABC admitted Sunday.
ABC’s own poll of 3,276 adults, produced for ABC by Langer Research Associates with fieldwork by Ipsos, showed Harris failed to achieve any benefit beyond her base. “Vote preferences haven’t moved meaningfully,” ABC News reported. “This poll finds the race at 51-46%, Harris-Trump, among all adults; 51-47% among registered voters; and 52-46% among likely voters. Each is within a percentage point of its pre-debate level in ABC/Ipsos polling.” ABC News, particularly debate moderators David Muir and Linsey Davis, have been roundly criticized for bias against Trump.

Ryan Wesley Routh, 58, has been identified as the man who was arrested in the assassination attempt against former President Donald Trump. The suspect called Mr. Trump a threat to democracy.
According to authorities, he was spotted by Secret Service agents Sunday in the bushes outside Mr. Trump’s golf course in West Palm Beach, Florida.
Officials said they found two backpacks, a GoPro camera and an AK-47 style rifle with a scope where Mr. Routh was hiding. He fled in a black SUV but was located and detained after a witness gave police the vehicle tags. According to his LinkedIn account, he is the owner of Camp Box Honolulu,
