Amid all the "vibes" and proclamations of joy, Kamala Harris' campaign isn't going quite as well as her handlers and the press would have you believe. A new report from CNN is shedding light on where the race stands and casting doubt on Harris' outward show of confidence.
Jen O'Malley Dillion, who is Harris' campaign chair, shared internals at a leadership retreat. They paint a picture of uncertainty, with the vice president not having "any one sure path to 270 electoral votes." At a leadership retreat for top aides in Wilmington last week, Jen O’Malley Dillon – the campaign chair hired by Joe Biden and retained by Kamala Harris

We've seen media going completely over the line when it comes to bias in the aid of Kamala Harris and the Democratic narrative.
We saw the bias of the ABC moderators during the debate. We've seen the media constantly twisting the statements of former President Donald Trump and Senator JD Vance. There was, for example, the AP's horrible twist on what JD Vance said about a school shooting, claiming he said it was a "fact of life," but leaving out that he said it was a bad thing that it was a fact of life. Some of the media doesn't seem to even care anymore how overboard

Eric Holder was supposed to be in charge of vetting Kamala Harris' VP running mate choices.
I don't know what they did to vet people; I know they didn't have a lot of time. But they surely messed up when it comes to Tim Walz. There seems to be a never-ending bounty of damaging stories about Walz, including stolen valor, which rightly sets people on edge.
Harris probably should have picked Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro because he was more moderate and would probably have helped the campaign in Pennsylvania. Not doing so earned them accusations of antisemitism and toadying to the radical left.

We continue to hear troubling things about the failures of security around the assassination attempt against former President Donald Trump.
The media may want to brush the incident to the side as ABC did during the debate, but even Democrats like Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) are troubled by what they are hearing. After he was in a meeting with Acting Secret Service Director Ronald Rowe, he said that we would be shocked and appalled not only by what we will hear about Secret Service failures, but that we should also be appalled and astonished by the failure of the Department of Homeland Security to provide information

The start of this is going to sound like the intro to one of those truly awful old stand-up jokes.
You know, the ones that always start like, "So, a priest and a rabbi walk into a bar..."
Only this is a tale of two campaigns and the commemoration ceremonies of the ghastly events of September 11th, 2001.
At Ground Zero yesterday, everyone showed up - both POTATUS, Kamala, Trump, J.D. and all the assorted luminaries associated with that day and with New York itself.
There was a very nice moment between the Trumpster and Harris.
Trump even patted her hand before he let go.

Hamas’s 24 battalions have been almost completely “shattered,” and the terror organization has been reduced to a “guerrilla” force, according to Israeli government spokesman David Mencer in a media briefing on Thursday.
Mencer was commenting on the report Wednesday by Israeli defense minister Yoav Gallant that Israeli soldiers had recovered a memorandum from a dead senior Hamas commander to Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar in which he said that the terrorist group had been reduced to 25% of its former capacity, that it was running out of rockets, and that it was losing support from the Palestinian civilian population,

The majority of likely voters say they blame Vice President Kamala Harris for record levels of illegal immigration at the United States-Mexico over the last three and a half years, a New York Times/Siena College poll reveals.
The poll asked likely voters “How much blame, if any, do you think Kamala Harris as sitting vice president should receive for … problems at the border” — record illegal immigration, in other words — to which 63 percent said they place “a lot of blame” or “some blame” on Harris.
In April of 2021, President Joe Biden asked Harris to lead the administration’s effort in “stemming the movement of so many folks, stemming

I wrote earlier about the new Insider Advantage post-debate poll on Michigan that now shows former President Donald Trump up by one, 49 to 48 percent, with 800 likely voters over Sept 11-12. It actually moved three points from Harris +2 to Trump +.1 on August 8.
I wanted to take a deeper dive into the backend of the poll.
According to pollster Matt Towery, one reason was a five-point lead with independents.
“The poll also showed a slightly higher amount of support for Trump among African-Americans (around 20%), which may be an aberration, or a reflection of higher African-American numbers seen in recent national surveys

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) declared victory Thursday in the battle of Rafah, having destroyed Hamas’s four battalions there over the course of four months.
It was a battle that Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic Party nominee for U.S. president, told Israel not to fight, warning of the consequences for civilians there, and even threatening to withhold U.S. weapons.
“I have studied the maps,” Harris said, declaring that it was impossible to attack Rafah without hurting civilians. Israel, believing it would lose the war without taking Rafah, entered anyway.

Which Canadian-born CNN regular is more annoying: David Frum or Daniel Dale? Frum did stop short of banging his fists or stamping his feet. But on today's CNN This Morning, the Trump-detesting pundit was more taciturn. He said thanks to the "probably stupid" rules of the Constitution, Trump could win the election with an Electoral College majority despite losing the popular vote count. Frum was responding to a statement by CNN reporter Edward-Isaac Dovere that some in the Kamala camp believe that if the election were held today, she would lose. Frum began by claiming: "We need to be more specific about what we mean by 'lose."

Best news of the day, especially since the New York Times fails to recognize its failure. In a piece that's mainly intended as fluff, the Gray Lady falls back on nearly as many clichés as its subject while getting nowhere near the real issues she faces. The NYT headline and subhead provide a good crystallization of their shallow approach: Harris, After a Debate Success, Confronts a Battleground ‘Game of Inches’ Her campaign is riding high, but still sees the race as an exceedingly close grind. Her aides have new hopes of focusing the race squarely on Donald Trump’s fitness for office. A game of inches, eh?

Right now, Taylor Swift is the biggest popstar in the world. Nobody’s bigger. She’s also an astoundingly inept judge of character. Her capacity for misjudging others is legendary.
Fortunately, she sings about all the lousy, stupid choices she makes. In fact, she’s built a very successful career by being an inept judge of character.
Anyway, the same woman who thought it would be a swell idea to date John Mayer made a critically important, earth-shattering announcement earlier this week (I hope you’re sitting down): Taylor Swift is… Team Kamala!
And you should be, too!
