Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi made a fool of the United States — and the Biden-Harris administration rewarded him for his ridicule.
Last Sunday, the National Interest reported that Egypt is ditching US F-16 fighter jets for their Chinese competitor, the J-10C. The US had offered to upgrade Egypt’s aging fleet of F-16s. Sisi said no, and chose China instead.
On the face of things, Egypt’s betrayal makes no sense. A year ago, Egypt was on the brink of insolvency. Its external debt made up 46% of its GDP.

I don’t know whether to laugh or cry, though in this instance, it’s not a statement regarding some appalling examples of liberal media bias. For the Ohio Haitians ‘eating the pets’ story, it’s pure entertainment, maybe a touch of schadenfreude: the liberal media is being tortured in their attempt to neutralize the story. Contrary to the establishment press, this story hasn’t been debunked. There’s no way within 48-72 hours that authorities can verify dogs and cats are not being eaten by the tens of thousands of Haitians in Springfield, Ohio.

Since former President Trump announced JD Vance as his running mate, the Ohio senator has become the bane of the corporate media, routinely appearing on liberal networks to spar with partisan journalists and dismantle the latest fake narratives about the GOP presidential nominee and his agenda. That pattern continued on Tuesday night following the debate between Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris on ABC. Just moments after both candidates made closing arguments, one reporter attempted to ensnare Vance in a “gotcha” question about the viral story of Haitian migrants allegedly eating wild geese and even dogs and cats in Springfield, Ohio.

Brothers Phil and Terence Banks — both targets of a federal investigation into close allies of Mayor Eric Adams — have a taste for the finer things and like to hang out at swanky Manhattan nightclubs, The Post has learned.
Phil Banks, the city’s deputy mayor for public safety, frequents Casa Cipriani, a posh, members-only establishment on South Street that charges patrons a cool $3,900 per year in dues — on top of the one-time initiation fee of $2,000, according to sources and the club website.

During Tuesday night’s debate, ABC News moderators David Muir and Linsey Davis interrupted Donald Trump five times to “fact-check” his answers.
They did the same to Kamala Harris … never.
The vice president was allowed to skate through the debate without substantive follow-up questions or pushback on some of her obviously false claims. Kamala claim: “As of today, there is not one member of the United States military who is in active duty in a combat zone in any war zone around the world, the first time this century.”
Fact check: Our troops in Middle East are absolutely in a combat zone, under attack from Iran,

Donald Trump got to Kamala Harris’ core problem in his debate close, waving off all her promises about what she’d do in office: “Why hasn’t she done it already?”
Hard to think of a better riposte to her “We won’t go back” slogan — which aims to appeal to Americans’ desperate desire for change from the Biden policies she shares.
Harris had a pretty smooth night: She did her homework for once, including prepping lines guaranteed to get under Trump’s skin — some of which plainly did put him off-balance.
And of course she had backup from the moderators, ABC’s David Muir and Linsey Davis —

Andrew Cuomo is set to be grilled over his administration’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic — including an infamous mandate that forced infected patients into nursing homes.
The House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic is going to to question the ex-New York governor on Sept. 10 about the “unscientific guidance” that led to the deaths of thousands of senior citizens.
The COVID subcommittee has already conducted a closed-door transcribed interview with Cuomo in June, during which the governor came across as “shockingly callous,” Wenstrup added.

President Biden and Senate Democrats are racing to confirm more judicial nominees than former President Donald Trump did while in office.
However, they face a difficult schedule to get it done, with several time-sensitive pieces of legislation due this fall and an entire month out of session in October.
Prior to the August break, Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Dick Durbin, D-Ill., announced that seven nominees had been advanced out of committee to be considered for confirmation. It's unclear when these votes will take place once the Senate is back.

Caution: Those with sensitive stomachs or respect for the truth should stop here.”
That’s the warning label The Washington Post should have slapped on a recent essay.
Unfortunately, it didn’t and let the writer gas on as if his fabulist claims were grounded in reality.
The op-ed was doubly dispiriting because, although it appeared in The Washington Post, it was written by the publisher of The New York Times.
Both outlets likely thought the joint imprimatur would increase the audience and impact.
Instead, the resulting flop magnifies their effort to spread misinformation.
Both outlets apparently still think Americans are foolish enough to trust Big Media to tell them the truth.

For some time now the Left has been salivating over the prospect that New York judge Juan Merchan would jail Donald Trump on September 18, before the election. Reports were that a cell in Riker’s was being readied for him and even that he’d be denied Secret Service protection (such as it is) while incarcerated. Not going to happen. The week stated off badly for Manhattan District attorney Alvin Bragg, the prosecutor of that case, when on a hidden camera Nicholas Biase, Bragg’s chief spokesman said, “Honestly, I think the case is nonsense.” (When the video by Steven Crowder’s operative was made public, he claimed he denied he meant it,

Elon Musk is on pace to become the world’s first trillionaire by 2027, according to a new report from a group that tracks wealth.
Informa Connect Academy’s finding about the boss of electric carmaker Tesla, private rocket company SpaceX and social media platform X (formerly Twitter) stems from the fact that Musk’s wealth has been growing at an average annual rate of 110%. He was also the world’s richest person, with $251bn, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, as the academy’s 2024 Trillion Dollar Club report began circulating Friday.
