Science was meant to disprove religion

Many atheists, including eminent scientist Richard Dawkins, believe religion is antithetical to science. But a blockbuster study reporting evidence of ancient traces of hemoglobin, a key protein in blood, encrusted into the famed 'Shroud of Turin' contradicts this 'black and white' vision of science and spirituality. [SNIP] DailyMail.com has heard from scientists in other fields whose life-long pursuit of empirical truth in the lab has led them to 'believe in God as the author of creation.'

For those who believe, no proof is necessary. For those who don't, no proof will suffice.

I saw a TV show about the Shroud of Turin, and one speaker pointed out that millions of people have been buried in shrouds -- but this is the only case where such an image was formed. How was it formed? No one is quite sure.

Can;t get past the headline, which is wrong. The advances in Western science are basically the outcome of people saying there is one God thus one rule everywhere. This is the insight from which it all came. In physics the trailblazers have as far as I can remember always been believers albeit often idiosyncratic. The one branch that hugely boasts of nonbelievers in the lead, is biology. so scrap that headline and stop flattering the self-opinion of the atheitsts who have done little of note in science. Thx

Science, originally, was to "discover" and "reveal" God's works. As usual, the devil tried to pervert it to his own purpose.

What is "science" other than the study of God's creations? Many of these "scientists" are clueless leftist morons who often get it laughingly wrong, but that's not His fault.

"Science was meant to disprove religion" Really? This is the first I have heard of this, but at only 68 years old, I'm still 'wet behind the ears'. I always believed..... and I still believe.... that real Science is the quest for FACTS and the TRUTH.

Hard to get past the headline. Science was NOT meant to disprove religion, although some try to use it for that purpose. Science is a means to discover and understand the truth of the physical world. It has no function in the spiritual world, although the more we understand the material world the more we realize that some power other than pure chance had to have a hand in it.

“Darth Vader” is now aboard the Democratic Party Death Star and CNN couldn’t be more pleased with a neocon icon’s endorsement of nominee Kamala Harris. Former Vice President Dick Cheney announced that he would be voting for Harris in November, joining his daughter Liz Cheney who also proclaimed her loyalty to the current standard bearer of the Democratic Party, a warmongering entity that is dragging an unsuspecting nation into WW III. Cheney’s blessing had the CNN talking heads gushing about the significance of getting Never Trump “Republicans” in line with the continuation of the disastrous Biden-Harris policies, even if they are now voting Democrat.

The retailer known as Big Lots is preparing to file for bankruptcy as other companies across the United States have recently done. Individuals with knowledge of the situation said the discount home goods store may file as early as Sunday, Bloomberg reported on Friday, noting the company is planning to sell its stores through a court-supervised process. [SNIP] Big Lots, which has around 1,400 stores and employs over 30,000 people, has suffered from declining sales for years, including in recent quarters as rising inflation squeezed the wallets of its budget-conscious shoppers. Its share price has plunged to around $0.50, after peaking above $72 in 2021.

Qaid Farhan Alkadi is the Bedouin Arab taken captive by Hamas on October 7, and on August 27 rescued from his calvary in Gaza by the IDF after enduring 326 days in captivity. Many of the media stories about his rescue did not mention that he is an Israeli Arab. [SNIP] He was shot because he refused to tell Hamas members where Jews were hiding in the kibbutz where Alkadi worked as a security guard. Israel’s army rescued a Muslim Israeli from Hamas’ terror dungeons. Keep that rescue in mind when you hear Israel being accused of committing “genocide” of Palestinian Arabs.

A bombshell congressional report claims would-be Trump assassin Thomas Crooks was incapacitated by a local cop before he was killed by a Secret Service sniper. Two months after Crooks shot the former president's ear at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, a preliminary report from Rep. Clay Higgins offered a differing narrative to the official one pushed by the FBI. While it was initially claimed that Crooks was shot in the head within seconds by a Secret Service sniper, Higgins' report claimed it was actually a local SWAT operator who stopped the gunman's hail of bullets.

Could anyone have imagined twenty years ago or even in the darkest days of the Obama administration that Islamic terrorists would feel free to rampage across the streets of Manhattan waving terrorist flags? But here we are. No arrests. No FBI agents knocking on their doors. Despite formal condemnations and press releases, the Jihadists know that they have the backing of the Democrats, the Left, and the media. What else do they need? This is what they’re doing a week before 9/11. Can you imagine what they’ll do on 9/11?

A federal judge on Saturday blocked key portions of Ohio’s new law restricting lawful permanent residents, visa-holders and others from contributing to statewide ballot issue campaigns. The injunction came one day before the law was to take effect. U.S. District Judge Michael H. Watson, in a 53-page ruling, prohibited the state from pursuing civil or criminal liability for any alleged violations based on the definition of a “foreign national.” Ohio’s House Bill 1 passed earlier this year, incorporating what’s already federal law to the state level, prohibiting foreign citizens from contributing to political campaigns.
