The great theologian Dietrich Bonhoeffer offers a useful observation: "Stupidity is a more dangerous enemy of the good than malice. One may protest against evil; it can be exposed and, if need be, prevented by use of force. Evil always carries within itself the germ of its own subversion in that it leave behind in human beings at least a sense of unease. Against stupidity we are defenseless. Neither protests nor use of force accomplish anything here; reasons fall of deaf ears; facts that contradict one’s prejudgment simply need not be believed… For that reason, greater caution is called for when dealing with a stupid person than a malicious one."

In a move that felt like an inevitability, longtime media maven Brian Stelter is making his return this month to the airwaves and to CNN. In an announcement made to subscribers of the “Reliable Sources” newsletter (something I missed initially, as the previous overlord of that release had cut off my subscription), Stelter trumpeted his return to the fold. This appeared to be something on the horizon, given Brian’s frequent guest appearances made over the past few months.

Venezuela’s attorney general’s office has requested that an arrest warrant be issued for opposition leader Edmundo Gonzalez over his refusal to respond to three summons to testify about an opposition website that published detailed information about the country’s disputed presidential election.
The arrest warrant request for the 75-year-old Gonzalez from the Democratic Unity Roundtable, an electronic copy of which was viewed by The Epoch Times, comes as part of a probe into his claim that he was the rightful victor of the July presidential election, in which President Nicolas Maduro was declared by officials as the winner.
The accusations leveled against Gonzalez in the arrest warrant request include usurping

There is a lot of drama happening surrounding former President Donald Trump’s visit to Arlington Cemetery to honor the 13 servicemembers who were killed in a suicide bombing attack at Abbey Gate in Kabul, Afghanistan. The attack occurred on August 26, 2021, during our shambolic exit from the country, which will go down as one of the Biden administration’s most infamous foreign policy failures. Trump was there. Joe Biden and Kamala Harris were not. The optics were atrocious, which led to the liberal media spewing fake news about the ceremony.
They accused Trump of politicizing the event, then attacked the Gold Star parents who voiced their outrage

A couple of summers ago, I saw a huge, brightly marked wasp crawl out of a hole in the sandy soil above a curb. It was such a striking creature and its burrow so cleanly excavated that I had to know more.
I finally identified the creature as a cicada killer wasp, and while it may have been an impressive and attractive insect at a glance, its habits were nightmarish. The female, you see, flies up to an unsuspecting cicada that is minding its own business, singing to the summer from a tree, and paralyzes it with a sting. It then transports the helpless creature to its burrow.

WASHINGTON — Former Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., on Wednesday endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for president, the latest high-profile Republican endorsement for Democrats.
Cheney's comments took place during an appearance at Duke University’s Sanford School of Public Policy. “Because of the danger that Donald Trump poses, not only am I not voting for Donald Trump, but I will be voting for Kamala Harris,” Cheney said in a video of remarks posted to X.

Republican Voters Against Trump launched an $11.5 million ad buy in key swing states on Tuesday, marking the group’s largest ad buy so far this cycle.
The group is targeting voters in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Arizona. Additionally, the ad buy will also run in Nebraska’s competitive 2nd Congressional District. $4.5 million of the ad buy will be spent in Pennsylvania, while $3 million will be spent in Michigan and $2.2 million will be spent in Wisconsin. The group will spend $1.5 million in Arizona and $375,000 in Nebraska’s 2nd Congressional District.
The Biden-Harris administration is planning to accuse Russia of a “covert” and “sustained effort to influence the 2024 presidential election” and take a “series of moves” to address it, “six sources familiar with the matter” told CNN.
CNN reported that the administration will accuse Russia of doing so by claiming it uses Kremlin-run media and other online platforms to target U.S. voters with disinformation.The report did not provide evidence or examples of the disinformation, but it said RT — Russia’s state media network — is a major focus of the announcement.

The daughter of embattled Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis was arrested in Georgia for driving with a suspended license.
According to The Daily Mail, 25-year-old Kinaya Willis was pulled over for driving while using a cell phone on August 24 in Tyrone, Georgia when officers realized she had a suspended license.
Kinaya Willis told the police officer that she was using her cell phone “due to her mother calling her related to her pregnancy.”
Fani Willis showed up to the scene as officers arrested her daughter.

This comes as the Secret Service is spread thin and struggling to meet demands. Things are so bad that the US military is being called in to supplement Secret Service personnel.

25-year-old Kinaya Imani Willis was booked into Fayette County Jail, about half an hour south of Atlanta, on August 24 for driving with a suspended license.
