Progressives suffered a major blow in Tuesday night’s primaries as Rep. Cori Bush (D-Mo.) became the second “squad” member to lose to a challenger this cycle.
Coming just hours after Vice President Harris announced Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as her running mate in a move seen as a win for the progressive wing of the party, Bush’s loss put internal party frictions over the Israel-Hamas war on full display. Along with Missouri, voters also headed to the polls in Kansas, Michigan and Washington state to set up key matchups for November.
Here are five takeaways:

A lot of people don't realize that George Washington didn't win the Revolutionary War by being a master class tactician. His reputation as one is kind of mixed, actually. His main strength came from being able to pull his army through difficult times that would have stopped other armies cold. He outlasted his opponent until they succumbed to the problems he overcame through sheer grit and determination. Your opponent can be larger, better funded, well-connected, and technologically superior, but if you can last five minutes longer than they can, then all their advantages don't matter.

Democrats at a rally in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on Tuesday to welcome Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) as Vice President Kamala Harris’s running mate chanted “Lock him up!” after she attacked former President Donald Trump.
Karris repeated a portion of the speech she delivered to Democratic campaign headquarters last month.
On that occasion, she said:
As many of you know, before I was elected as Vice President, before I was elected as United States Senator, I was the elected Attorney General as I’ve mentioned to California, and before that I was a courtroom prosecutor. In those roles, I took on perpetrators of all kinds. Predators who abused women, fraudsters

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) referred to a crude sex joke based on a fake meme to make fun of rival Sen. JD Vance (R-OH) during a rally in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on Tuesday as Vice President Kamala Harris’s running mate.
“I can’t wait to debate the guy,” Walz said, to cheers. Then he added: “That is, if he’s willing to get off the couch and show up.”
The crowd roared with laughter.
“You see what I did there?” he said, clearly aware of the joke. The joke refers to a meme that claims Vance had sex with a couch, based on a fake citation from his memoir, Hillbilly Elegy.

Dell has made another round of layoffs, which The Register understands have cut deep and seen even company veterans let go.
HR exit meetings kicked off on Tuesday morning, spurring a wave of LinkedIn status changes, while others found comfort venting or trading information in online forums.
Dell confirmed the layoffs to The Register.
"Through a reorganization of our go-to-market teams and an ongoing series of actions, we are becoming a leaner company. We are combining teams and prioritizing where we invest across the company. We continually evolve our business, so we're set up to deliver the best innovation, value and service to our customers and partners," Dell told The Register by email.

Democrat presidential nominee Vice President Kamala Harris had a picture-perfect vice presidential nominee pick with Josh Shapiro, the Democrat governor of Pennsylvania.
Shapiro is a young 51. He’s a smooth talker. He’s seen as fairly moderate. Above all, he’s the popular governor of a state Harris must win.
Instead.
Harris chose Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN).
And who is Tim Walz…? He’s an aging, radical, open-borders socialist with a DUI to his name, a questionable service record, and a man who only became a national figure as the governor who allowed the left-wing terrorists in Black Lives Matter and Antifa to burn down large swathes of Minneapolis during the George Floyd Riots of 2020.

Kamala Harris loved Tim Walz’s governing record in Minnesota. His biography and record of winning tough races resonated with her. And most of all, she just really liked him.
The Minnesota governor and vice president sat down for a one-on-one interview Sunday and connected, despite having little relationship prior to the vice presidential selection process, according to two people close to the process granted anonymity to discuss private conversations.
But several other factors were important to Harris as well, according to one of the people. Harris appreciated Walz’s two terms as governor because he had accomplishments in Minnesota that Harris wants to replicate

With Tim Walz officially on the ticket with Kamala Harris, conversations about what kind of impact he'll have are raging. Most Republicans see it as a gift. A far-left governor from a non-swing state with a radical record and countless soundbites to work with.
For Democrats, the picture is murkier. While the press tries to present Walz as a "centrist" simply because he's white and from the Midwest, progressives in the party are overjoyed with his selection. What does that tell you? It tells you that if Jamaal Bowman and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez are excited, then Walz is the socialist he's previously claimed to be.

As recently as last week, Kamala Harris appeared to be on the cusp of picking Gov. Josh Shapiro (D-Pa.) as her running mate. Despite the progressive backlash against him and a slew of scandalous leaks, he was the runaway frontrunner in the betting odds as conventional wisdom held that Kamala needed a "moderate" swing state Democrat to help expand her path to 270 Electoral College votes.
Shapiro's chances remained high even after he faced serious allegations by a fellow Democrat of covering up harassment in his office. The sexual harassment cover-up didn't take Shapiro out of contention, and neither did another cover-up — this one involving murder.

This has already been a weird election cycle, and no, I'm not talking about anything JD Vance said about cat ladies. It's the Democrats that are behaving strangely, even for them - and given that they have been maintaining a Weekend at Bernie's presidency for almost four years, keeping befuddled old Joe Biden in place, insisting he was "sharp as a tack" and "on his game" until they couldn't hide the fact any longer that His Dessicatedness has lost it. So now they have anointed Joe's life insurance policy, Kamala Harris, Queen of the Word Salad. And as RedState informed you, she has picked

X is suing a group of major advertisers over accusations that they held an “illegal boycott” against the platform formerly known as Twitter. In a lawsuit filed on Tuesday, X claims Unilever, Mars, CVS, Orsted, and dozens of other brands conspired to “collectively withhold billions of dollars in advertising revenue” through a World Federation of Advertisers (WFA) industry initiative.
To join the WFA’s initiative, called the Global Alliance for Responsible Media (GARM), companies must agree to withhold advertising from social platforms that aren’t compliant with the organization’s safety standards. X alleges GARM “organized an advertiser boycott of Twitter” to coerce

President Biden’s “border czar,” Veep Kamala Harris, has chosen a fellow soft-on-illegal-immigration politician as her running mate.
Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, 60, who was named Harris’ vice-presidential pick Tuesday, has supported efforts to turn his home state into a sanctuary state while also backing other stances that cater to undocumented migrants. “My position on Minnesota becoming a sanctuary state boils down to who has the responsibility for enforcing immigration laws,” Walz told CBS News in 2018.
“Here’s what I believe: Congress has given federal agencies the authority to enforce immigration laws in Minnesota, and I support their doing so,” he said. “Congress has not given local law enforcement that same authority.
