On Tuesday, the House announced a task force to investigate the July 13 assassination attempt against former and potentially future President Donald Trump. It was a rare move of unanimity, as the plan to set up the task force passed by a vote of 416-0. The task force will be comprised of 13 members, Republicans and Democrats. One of the Democrats being considered is Rep. Dan Goldman (D-NY), which is raising eyebrows and causing outrage. The Friday morning newsletter from Punchbowl News references Goldman and even mentions that he's "seen as a strong candidate for the panel."

I can’t help but feel contempt for Dan Goldman. He’s a talentless, big-mouthed, supercilious lunkhead who obviously owes his success to his family’s fortune and status. He routinely appears on various congressional committees where he talks incessantly and is totally unaware of the fact that he makes a complete ass of himself every time. During one committee hearing he questioned mothers of children whose deaths were the result of illegal immigration and was so condescending that at one point one of them snapped and said, “You think I’m stupid! I’m not stupid!” In the same hearing he clumsily patronized another mother whose child OD’d on fentanyl and told her he regretted that she “(was) called by Republicans to appear before this committee but (didn’t) have the background to really understand” border issues and ended by saying that he “hopes she, uh, is, uh, doing ok with, um, that.” She was enraged and asked him if he’d ever even been to the border and he told her he was the one asking questions, not her. He is a disgrace.

I do not think it would surprise many people to learn that Dan Goldman was the money man behind the assassination attempt. Not saying he was but it is most certainly not out of the realm of probability.

Note to Speaker Johnson just do what Nancy Pelosi has already done. Just say NO and appoint whomever you want. Definitely not Goldman or any of the other democrat skels mentioned in the article. The only problem is being able to find democrats who are not skels. There are a few and Johnson should name them to the committee. BUT definitely do not let Hakeem Jeffries pick who he wants. Just use the same tactics democrats use. Not more Mr. nice guy, Johnson. We are clearly at war. Be a leader, be Patton.

On Friday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “All In,” Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) praised President Joe Biden as someone who “has put together the most progressive agenda and accomplishments of any president in modern history.” While discussing his lack of a formal endorsement of 2024 Democratic presidential candidate Vice President Kamala Harris and what commitments he wants from her, Sanders said, “I’m going to do everything I can to defeat Donald Trump, clearly the most dangerous president in our history, somebody who doesn’t believe in democracy, the right of women to control their own bodies. We don’t talk about it enough, this guy thinks climate change is a hoax

Donald Trump is courting the votes of cryptocurrency investors by promising to make the US a 'Bitcoin superpower' with far less regulation. The former president gave a speech to the Bitcoin 2024 conference in Nashville on Saturday and offered the crowd a high-profile government scalp. 'On day one I will fire Gary Gensler,' he told the crowd, speaking of the Securities and Exchange Commission chairman.Trump received so much applause that he repeated his pledge, adding, 'I didn't know he was that unpopular'. Gensler has waged a fierce enforcement crusade against the underregulated currency market.

A majority of Americans, including a significant number of Democrats, now see Biden’s failing mental health as a national security threat, according to new polling from Rasmussen Reports. Biden’s address to the nation this week did little to nothing to allay the concerns. Biden did not seem well or even fully engaged, mentally. This is why there has been an ongoing call for him to step aside from not only his campaign, but the presidency. The Washington Examiner reports: Most, including 39% of Democrats, fear Biden a ‘threat’ to US security

Donald Trump has mocked Joe Biden's golf swing, speaking style, and walk almost a week after he dropped out of the presidential race. The former president eventually turned his attention to his new opponent Kamala Harris at a rally in key swing state Minnesota on Saturday night. Trump revved up the 8,000-strong crowd in St Cloud with his impressions of the president, and called Harris 'Marxist' and 'evil' for her immigration record.'I don't wanna waste a lot of time because it's over now, right, he's gone, I told you he would be, I told you he wasn't going to make it,' he said of Biden.

Two frontrunners have emerged in the race to be presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris’s second in command: Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro and Arizona Sen. Mark Kelly. Shapiro, 51, and Kelly, 60, each represent 2024 swing states Democrats badly need to win in November. “Shapiro is toward the top,” said one insider familiar with the back and forth. “Locking down Pennsylvania would change the entire trajectory of the race.” Another prominent Democrat on the Hill warned talks were still “fluid.”

Vice President Kamala Harris’s track record of gaffes and word salads fell into the spotlight this week after she became the Democrats’ de facto presumptive nominee. Harris is infamous for spouting odd phrases and explanations for simple ideas. In 2022, for example, she marveled over Venn diagrams. Another time she rambled about the “significance of the passage of time.” “More alphabet soup from Kamala,” one X user mocked. (X Video) The Harris campaign apparently believes its candidate will make more gaffes as the party’s de facto presumptive nominee and hopes its content creation can be “ironic content online that’s signaling earnest support for her candidacy — without turning cringe and ruining it,”

Horton was a convicted murderer who brutally ra*ed a woman and stabbed her partner while furloughed from prison under a Massachusetts program in place during Dukakis’s time as governor.

US officials are fretting that without a cease-fire between Israel and Hamas terrorists over the ongoing fighting in Gaza, a war between the Jewish state and Iran-backed Hezbollah is becoming more likely — which will fuel the regional crisis and drag the United States even further into the ongoing conflict, Axios reported. “What happened today could be the trigger we have been worried about and

A Kamala Harris presidency would be historic - but not for the reason you think. The VP's late entry into the 2024 presidential race has raised the prospect of America having its shortest ever leader. At 5ft 2, Harris would be the shortest president since the 6ft 1.5in George Washington took up the role in 1789 (although Harris strongly insists she's around 5ft 4).Statistics suggest that candidates' stature plays a crucial role in whether they're picked for the next president. Two-thirds of US presidential candidates who have won the popular vote were taller than their rival and the average height of US presidents is around 6ft.
