Donald Trump reacted to Joe Biden's bombshell news Sunday that he is abdonding his disastrous reelection campaign, and not surprisingly, the former president and current GOP nominee blasted Biden's record and said he was "was not fit to run for president" and "never was" fit to serve.
"He is the worst president in the history of our country," Trump told Fox News Digital in a phone interview Sunday afternoon. "There has never been a president so bad."
But then he put forth the question that is sure to be discussed as long as Biden remains in office:
And I ask — who is going to

If Joe Biden had decided not to run before the Democratic primary this cycle, it's very unlikely that Kamala Harris would have prevailed in an open primary race. She went down to a blistering defeat, dropping out early in the 2020 race after failing to gain much momentum.
But the Democratic elites who knew there was a problem with Joe Biden decided they were going to roll the dice with him and hope they could sneak him by, until it became clear to them he was hemorrhaging support and was going to lose. That's the only reason we're where we are now. So they went around the primary process

So I’ve been on the road the last couple days and largely out of touch. What did I miss?
Oh. That happened!?
Observations:
• The old saying is that a week is a long time in politics. Last week proved it. If this keeps up, the election is actually about 10 years off from now.
• Well, Democrats are finally unburdened by what has been. They are about to be burdened with what can be, and . . . oh my!
• Was Biden set up? For more than a year, quite a lot of observers have confidently predicted that Biden would not be the nominee, and that the Democratic establishment would swap him out

Make no mistake about it, the Democrats are in big trouble now that Joe Biden has decided to drop out of the 2024 presidential election. Yes, Joe Biden was down in the polls, but the process going forward for the Democrats is going be bitterly divisive and messy.
Soon after he announced he was dropping out, Biden endorsed Kamala Harris to be his successor.
"My fellow Democrats, I have decided not to accept the nomination and to focus all my energies on my duties as President for the remainder of my term. My very first decision as the party nominee in 2020 was to pick Kamala Harris

The FBI reportedly utilized advanced, unreleased technology from digital intelligence company Cellebrite to access the phone of Thomas Matthew Crooks, the man identified as the shooter in the recent attack on former President Donald Trump.
Bloomberg reports that in the wake of the shooting incident at a rally in Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, which left former President Donald Trump with a bullet wound to his ear and resulted in the death of a spectator as well as other injuries, the FBI faced a critical challenge in accessing the shooter’s phone. The device, identified as a newer Samsung model running Android’s operating system, proved resistant to the FBI’s initial attempts at data

The New York Times (NYT) editorial board wants Vice President Kamala Harris off the 2024 ticket because of “profound concerns” about her electability.
The push to dump the nation’s first black vice president was posted just after President Joe Biden announced he would not run in the 2024 election — and it could threaten Democratic turnout in November.
The board first provided some throat-clearing praise for Biden: By agreeing to step down when his term ends in January, he is greatly increasing the chance that his party is able to protect the nation from the dangers of returning Donald Trump to the presidency.

Hollywood celebrities who have despondent for weeks over Joe Biden’s political prospects went wild Sunday following the president’s announcement that he won’t be seeking re-election. Numerous stars paid perfunctory tribute to Biden’s so-called “accomplishments” while prematurely anointing Vice President Kamala Harris as the party’s next nominee.
Stars including Robert De Niro, Ben Stiller, Bette Midler, Mark Ruffalo, and Jon Cryer all weighed in.
Biden “has a record of accomplishments unmatched by any president in our lifetime. He restored honesty, dignity & integrity to the office,” Disney’s Star Wars actor Mark Hamill

Joe Biden’s announcement that he is not seeking another term as president ranks among the most important and consequential statements from a president in history; you just don’t see many commanders in chief who are eligible for another term decide to hang it up.
And Biden told the public through Twitter/X.
He didn’t do it on camera. (The president’s doctor says he’s recovering from Covid well.) He didn’t do it in a radio address. No, he did it on Elon Musk’s social-media platform, the one that is allegedly dying

NEW YORK -- NEW YORK — Donald Trump's campaign has spent the last year-and-a-half viciously attacking Joe Biden, ridiculing his policies, mocking his fumbles and relishing a rematch they felt they were winning.
But they have also spent weeks preparing for the possibility that Biden might exit the race, readying a bevy of attacks against Vice President Kamala Harris that they unleashed as soon as Biden made his stunning announcement Sunday that he would step aside. Biden soon after endorsed Harris, who was quickly winning support from Democrats to be the party’s nominee.
“Rest assured, we are 100% ready," Trump pollster and senior adviser Tony Fabrizio said at last week’s

Donald Trump’s political team has been preparing to run against Vice President Kamala Harris for weeks, something they got one step closer to on Sunday after President Joe Biden said he is dropping out of the 2024 race.
“We are pretty excited about the fact that he endorsed Kamala,” Richard Grenell, a former U.S. ambassador to Germany and Trump’s acting director of national intelligence, said. “As we know in California, she has never been vetted. … Kamala Harris is a product of this whole system. She’s very far left, unvetted and untested.” There is no guarantee Harris will replace Biden as Democratic nominee, but in the hours

As Kamala Harris appears poised to replace Joe Biden as the Democratic nominee, a past connection between herself and Donald Trump has garnered interest: the GOP nominee once donated to her re-election campaign while Harris was serving as California attorney general.
From 2011 to 2013, Trump gave $6,000 to Harris’s campaign. Trump's daughter, Ivanka Trump, also donated $2,000 to Harris in 2014.
The past disclosure began to circulate on social media as Harris announced her intention to "earn and win" the Democratic nomination.

A top Trump super PAC rolled out a new ad panning Vice President Harris shortly after President Biden announced plans to step aside from the Democratic ticket and endorsed her to become the next president.
Less than an hour after Biden’s announcement, MAGA Inc. unveiled a new spot that is set to run in battleground states in short order panning Harris for the president’s “obvious mental decline.”
“Kamala was in on it. She covered up Joe’s obvious mental decline,” the ad charges, quoting Harris saying in interviews that Biden “is in good shape [and] in good health,” among other comments.
“Kamala knew Joe couldn’t do the job,
