In a memo published on May 8th, Xavier Becerra, Biden’s Secretary of Health and Human Services, announced a new plan to address “racial inequities” in the organ transplant industry. The plan, which covers 90 of the 257 transplant hospitals in the U.S., proposes a points system to grade the included hospitals.
Under this points system, a hospital earns a point for any successful kidney transplant, but 1.2 points for a kidney transplant with a low-income recipient as part of a “health equity performance adjustment.”
While the system is ostensibly colorblind, the Biden administration’s announcement gives race as a motivating factor: Becerra stated that the policy represents the Biden administration

Another shining example of finding racism in a place where is never was to begin with and making it racist.

Not surprising. One of the unstated communist death democrat party's campaign platform position planks is Kill, Kill, Kill all patriotic Americans. The Party of Death opens another front on their war to destroy America and they are winning. Do not ever trust anyone who is a democrat.

Just make sure the DEI transplants are done by DEI doctors.

How about a rule to require facilites to perform transplants regardless of a patient's vaccination status?

We have a neighbor from Hawaii who is of Samoan decent and has been waiting for a kidney for over 6 years. He’s brown but I guess he doesn’t qualify because he DID earn it - by serving in the US Marines.

#4~ Locally, longtime, dedicated politically active Republicans at local, state and national levels are urging voters to vote as early as possible in this year’s presidential election regardless of wanting to adhere to traditionally voting on Election Day. Reasoning is that reality suggests heretofore present-day politically-motivated unpredictable goings-on may present a variety of obstacles that could impede Republicans from casting their votes on Election Day; look, see, watch, listen, connect the dots.

Sure just forget the science that a donor needs to genetically needs to match the patient. I say pass a law that everyone needs to donate one of their kidneys then this might work.

Re #3, YES, exactly, except in Florida. A friend and his wife both came down with COVID very early on. They both went to the doctor. She was given monoclonal antibodies and rapidly recovered. He was denied monoclonal antibodies (white male) and he got garbage non-treatment, eventually hospitalized and died.
Unfortunately, I didn't know he was ill until the day before he went into the hospital. I had some potentially effective treatment, a protease inhibitor which is FDA approved, even though COVID use is "off label" like it is for HCQ and ivermectin. In any case, too late to save him. He died three weeks later.
MURDERED by DEI rules in medicine, denied treatment because he was a white male.

The issue is going to be genetic match. Minority people have a lower chance that someone will donate a kidney that will be a genetic match because.....they are MINORITIES, so fewer people have similar genetics.
It's all about being similar genetically, and a whole bunch of white folks from England and France who have been warring and invading and exchanging genes for 3000 years, and who are 70% of the population are just statistically going to have a better chance of matching up than a 13% minority population, who have continent wide African genetics. How much is a person from the Ivory Coast area going to be genetically similar to someone from Tanzania or South Africa? Black skin, yes, but those populations were highly tribal and both culturally and physically isolated for thousands of years....and likely not very close genetically.
These idiot DEI racists cannot grasp the basics of REALITY, and see everything in "black and white" ONLY terms.
And one more thing. In 100,000 white folks and 100,000 black folks, I wonder how many in each group donate their organs? I'll bet that the rate of donations is very different, but I have no facts, so we'll just have to guess.
As to the Samoan former Marine waiting for a kidney. That's a real shame, and I hope he finds one, but again we have a small, genetically fairly isolated group, which reduced opportunities for a match. Not 200 million Samoans out there to choose from, unfortunately.

Will idiotic policies like this discourage people from signing up to be possible donors? If the donor process is not blind and based solely on need and "a match", many people will not donate.

Not to get off topic but #8 I was stationed at Pearl Harbor for my first Naval tour of duty. One of my shipmates was a Samoan named Topula. He was shorter than he and I'm nearly six feet tall. One on weekend I was able to meet his family. Everyone was way taller than him with two sisters both and twin brothers well over 6 feet tall. He told me his twin brothers were 6' 7". He was the runt of the family. However, he was freakishly strong with a low center of gravity. Plus, he could drink nearly anyone under the table. Good man he was. Now about the kidney transplants. This is just another dumb attempt by the "you ain't Black if you don't vote for me" regime to stoke the racist fire. It's despicable but what else have we come to expect from that lot.

If I, or someone in my family, needed a kidney transplant and didn’t get one because of DEI, I’d sue…bigly.
