The parents of Grayson Murray, the PGA Tour golfer who passed away on Saturday at the age of 30, have issued a statement announcing that their son “took his own life.”
The statement, on behalf of Murray’s parents, Erica and Terry, was shared by the PGA Tour’s X account.“We have spent the last 24 hours trying to come to terms with the fact that our son is gone. It’s surreal that we not only have to admit it to ourselves, but that we also have to acknowledge it to the world. It’s a nightmare,” Murray’s parents said. “We have so many questions that have no answers. But one. Was Grayson loved?

I feel so bad that young people don't understand that it will get better. Maybe not tomorrow, but it will. Having suffered from depression off and on most of my life, someone said this to me at some time and it had kept me going. Personally the meds for depression only made mine worse (alot worse), so I have resorted to more natural solutions and that has helped keep my balance most of the time. I wish this young man had just reached out for help before choosing suicide.

No matter how good he had it, his depression kept him from enjoying his life and achievements. I know, by experience, what depression can do to a soul. May he rest in peace.

I really feel for them. Tomorrow is the first anniversary of my wife's death. I am very alone (still) and I am just keeping it together with duct tape. Not begging for attention, I t is just a horrible time to lose someone needlessly.

FTA - "A lot of hard work pays off. It’s not easy. I want to give up a lot of times, give up on myself, give up on the game of golf, give up on life at times,” Murray said at the Sony Open. “Just persevere, and when you get tired of fighting let someone else fight for you. That’s what happened.”"
My goodness. This is tough. Darn tough. The effects of clinical depression on full display. I wish there were other ways in this world someone like Grayson could grapple with this before exercising the final option. But today's Amerika doesn't believe there is a need. Hence, America's ongoing mental health crisis will go on and on until someday someone or something stops it.

#3, it is very difficult. I am sorry about the loss of your wife. This was years ago but my mom, brother, and grandparents died in a span of ten months. Finding my way back to God has been my only answer. . .

A Holy Man in a corny Shangri-La movie said to a young man contemplating suicide: Do Not Seek Death. It will find you soon enough.

My heart and prayers to the Murray family. Being an avid golfer and avid tournament watcher. I've seen him interviewed after his wins and close losses, it seemed he had his depression and alcohol demons under control. What a sad loss of a life gone way too soon.

A shame. I once heard someone call suicide "a permanent solution to a temporary problem", and that always sounded right to me.
But, I've never been so messed up that it would ever occur to me. Ultimately, it is a personal choice, but probably a bad one.

Lord, have mercy on Grayson and others who consider throwing away their earthly life to be a solution. Yeah, it's a solution -- like 5 is a solution to "1 + 1 + 1" ... i.e. a wrong solution.

Every time a life goes off the rails, either a high profile suicide or even a senseless act of mass violence, I come to the same thought. This started with Columbine and persists to this day...
What kind of damage is being done by first telling public school students that they owe there existence to nothing more than the mere chance of colliding molecules in an otherwise mindless Universe. If we indeed did spring from nothing and for no reason, then no case can be made for life having any meaning that is deeper than mere existence alone.
Now, take a couple of generations raised on this 'foundation' and feed them the lies that the entire world is at risk by 'climate change' and take then adolescent sexual discovery and foment an already difficult time in life with total confusion as to the nature of sex and gender...
Is it any wonder that people get depressed? Perhaps this case has nothing to do with any of these things, but the world is a mess and the 'experts' just keep making it a bigger and bigger mess every time they get out of bed in the morning.
Will it get better? Given what is hammered into our young people day and night... NO, it will only get worse. Someone has to overcome in today's world just to be halfway sane.

My sincere condolences for their loss. My heart goes out to them. Depression is a most difficult illness to have/treat & sometimes the meds only make it worse.

If they're gonna do it they're gonna do it only a matter of when.

Prayers for the Murray family and for Grayson's friends on and off Tour. Inconceivably horrible.
