President Joe Biden welcomed Kenya’s President William Ruto to the White House Thursday for a state visit, marking 60 years of relations between countries.
The state visit is the first time in more than 15 years that an administration has held such a visit for the leader of an African nation.
During the visit, President Biden announced his intent to designate Kenya as a major non-NATO U.S. ally, calling it "a fulfillment of years of collaboration.”

A judge drastically slashed the bail for an illegal alien who is accused of killing a Washington State trooper earlier this year, drawing an angry response from the dead lawman’s family.
Last week, Snohomish County Superior Court Judge Richard Okrent cut the bail for 32-year-old Raul Benitez Santana who was being held in the county jail from $1 million to $100,000, according to Fox News which cited online jail records.
Santana has been behind bars since March for the death of WSP Trooper Christopher M. Gadd, a 27-year-old husband and two-year-old daughter who will now have to grow up without her dad. [Video]

Judge Aileen Cannon on Wednesday held a hearing on Walt Nauta’s motion to dismiss Jack Smith’s classified documents for selective and vindictive prosecution.
Recall that Walt Nauta, a former White House employee and Navy veteran who worked valet for Trump and served as a personal staffer at Mar-a-Lago was indicted along with Trump last year.
According to the federal indictment reviewed by The Gateway Pundit, Nauta was charged along with Trump in counts 32, 33, 43, 35, and 36 – for the ‘crime’ of moving boxes of documents from one room to another at Mar-a-Lago.

President Joe Biden is blaming record-setting levels of illegal immigration to the United States on congressional Republicans, suggesting they are standing in the way of “border enforcement.”
On Thursday, a bill to expand legal immigration while permitting tens of thousands of migrant encounters along the U.S.-Mexico border failed in the Senate by a 43-50 vote.
The bill would have, among other things, increased annual green card admissions by 50,000, expedited work permits for migrants released into the U.S. interior, and allowed some 35,000 migrant encounters at the border before the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) could enforce border controls.

Last Friday morning, top-ranked golfer Scottie Scheffler arrived at the Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Ky., for the second round of the PGA Championship. Traffic was stopped due to an accident that had taken place earlier that morning, and Scheffler tried to drive around it. The original reports were that an officer tried to stop Scheffler’s car, and the golfer dragged the officer, causing injury. Police arrested Scheffler and hit him with four charges, including a felony. Det. Washington — The Louisiana Senate passed a bill Thursday that would classify the drugs used in medication abortions as controlled substances, criminalizing possession of the drugs without a prescription. It now heads to the governor for his signature.
The state Senate approved the bill 29 to 7 after it passed the House earlier this week. The bill is expected to be signed by Republican Gov. Jeff Landry, making Louisiana the first state to classify as controlled substances misoprostol and mifepristone — the two drugs used in a regimen to terminate early-stage pregnancies.
Hundreds of Harvard University students and faculty walked out of the school’s commencement ceremony on Thursday, wearing keffiyehs and waving Palestinian flags and anti-Israel banners, videos and reports from the Cambridge campus show.
The Harvard Out of Occupied Palestine (HOOP) coalition, which organized the university’s anti-Israel encampment, posted a video of students marching out of the area in which commencement was held on its Instagram page. Almost four years after the Hunter Biden laptop story was censored by social-media platforms and dismissed by ex-intelligence officials, the Justice Department is planning on using “self-authenticating” data from the laptop at Biden’s upcoming federal gun trial.
Special counsel David Weiss’s team of prosecutors is asking a judge to allow them to use evidence from the laptop during the gun trial. They’ve also asked the judge to prevent Biden from casting doubt on the authenticity of the laptop, which federal investigators verified in late 2019, according to the Justice Department and IRS whistleblower Gary Shapley.

The U.S. Supreme Court on May 23 ruled in favor of South Carolina’s redrawn congressional map, reversing a lower court decision.
The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) challenged the map, arguing legislators were motivated by race when drawing district lines and committed “intentional racial discrimination.”
A panel of federal judges in 2023 said that “race predominated over all other factors” when legislators redrew South Carolina’s First Congressional District, currently represented by Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.). The finding was based in part on the movement of more than 30,000 black voters to a different district.
The Supreme Court upheld South Carolina’s congressional map Thursday, ruling that legitimate partisan aspirations rather than nefarious racial motives animated the district drawing process.
The 6–3 decision that split the Court along ideological lines amounted to a victory for Palmetto State Republicans who battled to preserve a more favorable map for their congressional delegation. “The District Court found that South Carolina drew District 1 with a racial ‘target,'” Justice Samuel Alito, who authored the majority opinion, wrote in the decision for Alexander v. The 15-year-old girl accused of viciously beating classmate Kaylee Gain into a coma will not be charged as an adult, a St. Louis judge ruled on Wednesday.
The case will remain in juvenile court after the judge reviewed the unnamed suspect’s school history and met with the girl and her family several times since the brutal March fight outside Hazelwood East High School.
Gain, 16, was left severely injured in a fight on March 8.
Disturbing video showed her attacker get on top of the teen and repeatedly bash her head into the pavement.
She awoke from a coma several days later, but still has a long road to recovery, her family has said.
Washington—A Senate border bill that was previously blocked by Republicans is seeing dwindling support among members of both parties ahead of another expected vote this week.
During its last floor vote in February, the legislation failed to advance in a 49-50 vote due to opposition from both Democrats and Republicans. It would need 60 votes to overcome the filibuster threshold.
As Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) forges ahead with another vote on the legislation planned for May 23, details about which amendments, if any, will be allowed remain unclear.
It didn’t take long for the Pentagon to all but confirm that the temporary Gaza port constructed at the behest of President Biden is turning out to be a total disaster.

Portland's progressive District Attorney Mike Schmidt has conceded victory to a tough-on-crime challenger after his policies were blamed for ruining the city.
Schmidt, who is the prosecutor for Multnomah County, which covers the Oregon city, conceded the race to Nathan Vasquez shortly after 7pm ET Wednesday.
Voter counts are ongoing, but Vasquez has secured around 54 percent of votes, with Schmidt trailing well behind on 45 percent. The Soros-backed progressive was elected with 77 percent of the vote in 2020 after touting a host of 'equity'-focused policies, in a county that has not voted for a Republican president since 1960.
