World Economic Forum founder and executive chairman Klaus Schwab will be stepping back from his role running the global gathering since he founded it in 1971. Schwab announced his intentions in an email to staff on Tuesday that was shared with Semafor by a person connected to the organization.(snip) Schwab has not named his successor, but said that over the last year, the group’s executive board, “under the leadership of President Børge Brende, has taken full executive responsibility.” Brende is a former Norwegian conservative leader.

Comments:

I imagine that the word "former" in this sentence means just that...."Brende is a former Norwegian conservative leader." I didn't know Norway had any conservatives left.

It’s difficult to believe that the persons involved have changed quite as much as the definition of Conservative has changed to describe them.

I suspect an editing error. "Brende is a former Norwegian conservative leader.," should actually be, "Brende is a Norwegian former conservative leader."

#6 - He's not resigning. He is just "stepping back" from his role as the executive director who runs the day-to-day operation. He's 86 years old...Soros is what, 91, 92? Amazing how these people seem to live forever. Also, if you want a good laugh, the WEF is a non-profit. LOL - what a joke.

A federal judge ordered CBS News senior correspondent Catherine Herridge to reveal her sources for a series of stories about the FBI's investigation of a Chinese American scientist back when she worked for Fox News. The order last week from U.S. District Judge Christopher Cooper in Washington D.C. comes after scientist Yanping Chen filed a lawsuit against the FBI, claiming that the agency violated the privacy act by improperly leaking information about her. While working at Fox News in 2017, Herridge used a confidential source or sources to obtain material about the federal counterintelligence probe of Chen.

A primary suspect in the unsolved disappearance of American teenager Natalee Holloway during a trip to the Dutch Caribbean Island of Aruba in 2005 will be extradited to the United States from Peru. The suspect, Dutch citizen Joran van der Sloot, has never been charged in Holloway's death, and he is being extradited to the U.S. on extortion and wire fraud charges. However, Holloway's family hopes that the extradition will in so way bring justice, or at least closure, to the teen's disappearance. The government of Peru said Wednesday that van der Sloot will be sent to the U.S.

Tim Robbins fell for the media’s COVID-19 narratives hook, line and sinker. But not for long. The actor/director came out earlier this year against vaccine mandates for his fellow thespians, understanding it made little sense given what we’ve learned about the medication. The jab doesn’t stop the spread, nor does it prevent the recipient from getting the virus. Now, he’s taken that learning curve public, courtesy of Russell Brand’s 6+ million YouTube subscribers.

The 2022 elections should have been a wake-up call for Georgia Democrats after they lost eight of nine statewide races in November and saw the defeat of some of the party’s biggest, brightest stars. With the notable exception of U.S. Sen. Raphael Warnock, Democrats lost by larger margins in 2022 than they did in 2018, but with more money, stronger candidates, and a growing Georgia population that is younger, more diverse, and more closely aligned with their politics.

Roberts explicitly sided with his conservative colleagues in their majority opinion to uphold Mississippi's ban on abortions following 15 weeks of pregnancy. However, in his concurring opinion, he expressed a difference in opinion with his colleagues on the matter of overturning the court's decades-old decision in Roe v. That talking point is now floating around, thanks to friendly media outlets willing to overlook (if not actually cheer on) Iran being a country run by very bad people. “One of the culprits behind yesterday’s tragedy is the United States, because of its sanctions that bar Iran from procuring essential aviation parts,”

Amal Clooney played a key role in arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar. If her name sounds familiar it is because she is the wife of actor George Clooney. She advised the International Criminal Court (ICC) in favor of issuing the warrants. The fact that Israel is accused of crimes against humanity when it is fighting for its survival against the internationally recognized terror organization that massacred Israelis and others on October 7, 2023, is unbelievable. Equating Israel and Hamas is unacceptable. How would any reasonable person argue that Israel is the same as Hamas unless that person was an anti-Israel, anti-Jew antisemitic?
