Boeing CEO Dave Calhoun is stepping down at the end of 2024 as the aerospace giant grapples with fallout stemming from the 737 Max crisis. Calhoun, who was tapped to turn around the company in 2020, will "lead Boeing through the year to complete the critical work underway to stabilize and position the company for the future," the company said in a statement Monday. Aside from Calhoun's departure, Boeing announced an overhaul of its management team as it tries to turn around its reputation. Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) chief Stan Deal will also step down, effective immediately. Deal is being replaced by Stephanie Pope, who has been serving as

The term "quality control" shouldn't be in the Boeing lexicon. The quality has to be designed in AND built in at the get go, and can't be dinged and dented in just before take off.. When Boeing became a bean counting stock buy backer, and focused it's laser eyes on the stock market, and attempted to build passenger jets as if they were Revell models, they stepped off the cliff. I don't know that there is a way to survive such idiocy.

The day they replaced measuring performance on quality and safety with achievement of DEI targets, the downward slide started. The problem is that with a company like Boeing all our lives are in jeopardy.

Stop building airplanes in China, build them in the USA, and hire on MERIT regardless of sex, age or race. MERIT, skills, work ethic. And use that for your engineers and managers, too. And stop getting your flight control software written in India by people whose most complex thing in their life when growing up was their father's bicycle. And no, they never had their own bike, and no literally nothing about anything mechanical or aerodynamic....but they "code" cheap, and sorta-kinda speak English. THAT will solve this.

The planes causing the problems were built before these people got the job but who cares, somebody has to take the blame. What they need instead of new faces at the management table is a good, thorough team of engineer/inspectors who can find the cracks and weaknesses before the planes fail when they are full of passengers.

Let me get this straight - Boeing is replacing an engineer (Stanley Deal) with an accountant. That will really improve operations. I went through some of the executive team's bios, and it is sprinkled with GE and Disney alums, and more finance types than engineers. Those two companies are not where I'd go to recruit top executives.

Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R) vetoed Democrat lawmakers’ “assault weapons” ban on Tuesday, along with a number of other Democrat-backed gun controls. On January 23, 2024, Breitbart News noted that Virginia Democrats were advancing an “assault weapons” ban. On February 9, 2024, Breitbart News pointed out that the Virginia House Democrats “assault firearm” ban targeted semiautomatic centerfire pistols — like the 9mm or 45 ACP — if said pistols take a detachable magazine and have a threaded barrel. Semiautomatic centerfire pistols are wildly popular among concealed carriers and target shooters. Some of the most popular semiautomatic centerfire pistols include the 9mm, 45 ACP, and 10mm, and a pistol chambered

Last summer the regime of socialist dictator Nicolas Maduro announced that leading opposition candidate Maria Corina Machado was ineligible to run for office. The country hadn't held an election in five years at that point but Machado was expected to be the leading candidate if the current government agreed to hold an election. The opposition held a primary to decide who would face off with Maduro and, as expected, Machado won despite the government sending out its colectivo thugs on motorbikes to harass opposition voters. Machado hoped that a clear win in the primary would embarrass the socialist government into allowing her on the ballot, but in January

WASHINGTON — The Supreme Court on Tuesday appeared likely to reject a challenge to the abortion pill mifepristone, with a number of justices indicating the lawsuit should be dismissed. The court, which has a 6-3 conservative majority, heard oral arguments on the Biden administration's appeal of lower court rulings that restricted women's access to the pill, including its availability by mail. But during the arguments, there was little discussion of whether the Food and Drug Administration's decisions to lift restrictions on the drug were unlawful. Instead, the justices focused on whether the group of anti-abortion doctors who brought the lawsuit even had legal standing to bring the claim.

Politico has a follow up on something which seems pretty strange in retrospect. Just a few months ago, the Biden administration was leaking to the media that it was about to crack down on illegal immigration. Specifically, we were told there might be an executive order coming intended to limit the surge of asylum seekers. But all of that seems to have faded away. A month ago, the White House was openly considering a string of executive actions to curb migration at the southern border. But no announcements were made. And now, immigration advocates who had been engaged with the Biden administration about the moves say they no longer appear imminent...

Only zero-emission vehicles can be sold in participating states beginning from the 2035 model year, according to the Advanced Clean Cars II legislation. The rule, which was first adopted by California, means that automakers and dealerships would be banned from selling new gas cars in these states from that point onwards. Americans will not be forced to take their gas-powered cars off the road, however, and will still be able to buy used and secondhand gas vehicles. These states have gone further
