A teenager pulled a gun during a fight on a packed Florida beach earlier this week, before running through a crowd with the weapon and fleeing into the ocean. Felixander Solis-Guzman, 16, was arrested by officers from the Volusia County Sheriff's Office following the incident on New Smyrna Beach on Thursday. In shocking footage, Solis-Guzman can be seen brawling with four individuals on the packed beach before he pulls out a firearm. Deputies with the office had been on the beach at the time of the incident, and gave chase as Solis-Guzman caused revelers to scatter, with one shouting: 'He has a gun!'

A cockpit accident was the likely cause of a sudden drop that sent passengers on a LATAM Airlines Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner bouncing 'off the roof' during a flight to New Zealand, according to The Wall Street Journal. U.S. industry officials briefed on preliminary evidence from an investigation of the incident told the paper that a cockpit mishap may have pushed a pilot into the controls of the plane. According to the report, a LATAM Airlines flight attendant hit a switch on the pilot's seat while serving a meal, activating a motorized feature that pushed the pilot into the controls and sent the plane into a nose dive, the officials said.

FIRST ON FOX: Republican Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin on Thursday vetoed legislation requiring companies to disclose their internal diversity when applying for tax breaks or state incentives. The legislation — recently passed by the Virginia state legislature by slim party-line votes — would require the state's Major Employment and Investment (MEI) Commission to consider the diversity of an applicant business' board of directors when approving MEI incentive projects. Youngkin said such a requirement would harm investment in the state and simultaneously overlook the achievements of minority groups. "The Commission’s role is to scrutinize financing for individual incentive packages, not assessing whether a business adheres to a requirement akin to a demographic-based quota,"

The energy company Shell has watered down a key green target as it prepares to defy climate experts by growing its liquified natural gas business and holding its oil production steady until 2030. The company signalled that it may slow the pace of its emissions reductions for this decade by setting a new plan to reduce the carbon emissions intensity of the energy it sells by 15-20% by the end of the decade, compared with its previous target of 20%. The weakened target, which was set out in its latest energy transition strategy, will enable Shell to slow the pace of its emissions reductions in a decade that climatologists have warned

Embattled Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis can stay on and prosecute the election interference case against former president Donald Trump and his co-defendants for allegedly trying to overturn the results of the 2020 election — if special prosecutor Nathan Wade steps aside, a judge ruled Friday. Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee issued the decision early Friday, following two days of testimony from Willis, Wade and others close to them. In the decision he wrote: “The prosecution of this case cannot proceed until the State selects one of two options.

During an interview with Bloomberg on Thursday, White House National Economic Council Deputy Director Daniel Hornung stated that “our progress on inflation does continue,” but “we’ve expected some seasonality in January and February. We didn’t expect the progress to continue on a straight line.” Hornung said, [relevant remarks begin around 3:30] “I won’t comment on monetary policy and the Federal Reserve. I think what I can say, if you take a step back, our progress on inflation does continue, down from a peak of 9% to the 3% range. Always, I think, we’ve expected some seasonality in January and February. We didn’t expect the progress to continue on a straight line.

Fani Willis' future on the Donald Trump election fraud case in Georgia hangs in the balance with a judge set to decide on Friday if she should be disqualified over her affair with prosecutor Nathan Wade. Judge Scott McAfee set himself a deadline of this week to announce his ruling after a set of blockbuster hearings where the embattled Fulton County District Attorney was questioned about her dating history and thousands of texts and phone calls. Trump and his co-defendants in the Georgia racketeering case have called for Willis to be kicked off, claiming Wade and Willis' relationship was improper and broke ethics rules.

District Attorney Fani Willis and Special Prosecutor Nathan Wade had a long-term romantic relationship. They were caught lying about it in court testimony. Additionally, according to White House visitor logs, Mr. Nathan Wade visited White House lawyers prior to indictment of President Trump, while DA Willis met with staff (Mary McCord) from the January 6 Committee prior to the indictment. The scope of the political lawfare is in bright sunlight now. The Georgia prosecutor, meeting with Biden lawyers prior to the indictment against Biden’s political opposition, is a big issue that has yet to surface in front of Judge McAfee.

Democrats don’t support open borders for humanitarian reasons. They want the lines erased because they see every illegal alien as a likely Democratic voter crucial to their political power grab. But there’s another reason: They want to increase the populations of Democratic states to boost their representation in Congress and the Electoral College. Apparently, it’s not enough for Democrats to have become authoritarians, they have to be corrupt, too. Of course this is no surprise. Only the corrupt become authoritarians. Austrian economist Friedrich Hayek showed in chapter 10 of “The Road to Serfdom” why socialist systems never have decent people in charge.

The Biden administration's student loan bankruptcy policy is making it easier for borrowers to walk away from their debt, experts say. It was previously very difficult for Americans to part from their debt in court in a regular bankruptcy proceeding, but new rules are reportedly making this easier. 'We have gotten forgiveness for a number of clients under the new bankruptcy changes,' Malissa Giles, a consumer bankruptcy lawyer in Virginia, told CNBC.'The discharge is life changing for them and their families.' At the end of 2022, a new process for discharging student debt in the event of bankruptcy was introduced by the Department of Justice and the Department of Education.
