A California man has become the first person in the United States charged with illegally smuggling greenhouse gases into the country, officials said Monday. Michael Hart of San Diego was arrested under the American Innovation and Manufacturing Act of 2020, which prohibits the importation of hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) without proper permits from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). HFCs are potent greenhouse gases commonly found in refrigerators and air conditioners, building insulation, fire extinguishing systems, and aerosols. They can be hundreds to thousands of times more potent than carbon dioxide at trapping heat in the atmosphere, exacerbating the climate crisis.

Americans’ Productivity

Corporate and government “addiction” to migration is damaging the productivity that raises personal incomes and overall national wealth, say economists cited in a report Monday by the Wall Street Journal. “Increased reliance on low-skilled imported labor can lead to weaker productivity growth, which ultimately determines how fast economies can expand,” the newspaper wrote on March 4. The article cited two dairy farmers in Wisconsin. One farmer favors cheap labor supplied by the government’s unofficial illegal migrant program. The second farmer, however, invested in robot cow-milking devices:

Thanks to an ongoing Center for Immigration Studies Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit, the public now knows that U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has approved secretive flights that last year alone ferried hundreds of thousands of inadmissible aliens from foreign airports into some 43 American ones over the past year, all pre-approved on a cell phone app. (See links to prior CIS reports at the end of this post.)

The Supreme Court didn’t dig into the weeds of the entire insurrection debate, but one obvious issue with the various efforts to remove Trump from the ballot in various states was that insurrection had been left entirely to Democrat state officials to define. That kind of nonsense however won’t fly in an actual legislative process. Now that the Supreme Court blocked state officials from announcing that Trump can’t be on the ballot because he’s an “insurrectionist”, House members are now trying to play the same game. Congress will have to try and act,” Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.), the ranking member of the House Oversight Committee, told Axios. What he’s saying: Raskin,

A fellow Georgia prosecutor has come forward after viewing the televised testimony in the Fani Willis disqualification hearing, alleging what amounts to witness tampering on the part of the DA in Atlanta. If the account is truthful, that would make Fani the dumbest prosecutor ever, apparently blissfully unaware that the rules apply to her, too. (snip) A new witness could testify Fani Willis warned lover Nathan Wade’s former business partner to stay quiet about their affair (snip) “They are coming after us. You don’t need to talk to them about anything about us,” Willis is alleged to have warned Terrence Bradley in a September 2023 phone call.

You might think that the leftists who run California would be worried about the rapid decline of that state, but no: they are doing all they can to accelerate it. In the Wall Street Journal, Heather Mac Donald outlines California’s latest descent into racialist madness: "What would happen if lawmakers reinvented the criminal-justice system to target 'systemic racism' instead of crime? California is about to find out. Thanks to a 2020 law called the California Racial Justice Act, every felon serving time in the state’s prisons and jails can now retroactively challenge his conviction and sentencing on the ground of systemic bias. To prevail, the incarcerated prisoner need not show that

The efforts by government, captured institutions and radical activists to manipulate and menace can feel like an endless loop. But is it possible we’ve turned a corner, or at least nearing one that we can take? Recent events suggest so. The flagship institution of higher education in the red state of Florida is shutting down its diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) office. The University of Florida is ridding itself of the malign chief diversity officer position, sacking the program’s useless staff, and is also “halting any contracts involving the subject,” the Associated Press reports. What a welcome development,

It looks like another Soros DA in California will be facing a recall election. As we've been reporting, proponents of an effort to recall Alameda County's District Attorney, Pamela Price, have been gathering signatures for months to place a recall election on the ballot. On Monday those proponents turned in 123,387 signatures - 50,000 more than the 73,195 required. Alameda County Registrar of Voters Tim Dupris now has ten days to run validation checks to ensure that the signatures are from registered Alameda County voters and certify the number of valid signatures submitted. If his office certifies that at least 73,195 valid signatures were submitted,

The settlement commits the State Department to a payment to Judicial Watch of $97,000.

This explains why Democrats want Trump in jail. They can’t beat him. A new New York Times-Sienna poll found that 97% of Trump’s 2020 voters are ready to vote for him again in 2024. The same poll found that only 83% of Joe Biden voters will vote for Old Joe this year and 10% of Biden voters will vote for President Trump. Democrats are going to have to manufacture a s*** ton of ballots this year. These numbers are devastating. It appears all of those lawfare cases are backfiring.

In a 9-0 decision, the Supreme Court ruled states cannot use section 3 of the 14th Amendment to kick Donald Trump off state ballots over his alleged “insurrectionist” actions on Jan. 6, 2021. Learning that state officials aren’t empowered to simply toss leading presidential candidates off ballots came as a great surprise to many incredulous left-wingers. Once you’ve convinced yourself Trump led a Hitlerian putsch that nearly overthrew democracy, every crackpot legal theory aimed at stopping him sounds not only morally justified but legally sound.

The sources she cited at the hearing almost immediately went on record to contradict her sworn testimony. Legacy networks NBC, CBS, and CNN reported Hutchinson’s sources were prepared to go under oath to testify that her claims were false.
