This is an interesting response to the question of whether South Dakota Senator John Thune intends to seek the position of senate majority leader. Listen to the way he says it and the transparency of the long-discussed plan is crystal clear {GO DEEP, 2022} WATCH: (video)We have written about this plan for several years. Mitch McConnell personally groomed Thune for the position and has introduced him to all the key financial players that keep the DeceptiCons (Deceptive Conservatives) in office. (snip)
The only thing that makes the Deep State professional Republicans nervous, is the potential for President Donald Trump to intercede in the anointing.

WASHINGTON — Victoria Nuland, the third-highest ranking U.S. diplomat and frequent target of criticism for her hawkish views on Russia and its actions in Ukraine, will retire and leave her post this month, the State Department said Tuesday.
Nuland, a career foreign service officer who served as Assistant Secretary of State for Europe during the Obama administration but retired after Donald Trump was elected president, returned to government as Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs in the Biden administration.

Who knows? I have no reason to believe that Geroman has any inside sources. Nevertheless, it is worth recalling that recent weeks have seen quite a bit of buzz about billions being diverted from actual war making in Ukraine to … who knows where? Obviously lots has gone to high Ukraine officials, but your imagination is pretty much unlimited when there’s no accountability. Congress has been demanding some accountability and apparently not getting it. (snip)No wonder Mike Johnson figures he can tough this one out. Could it also have something to do with Turtle’s travails?

During his 2021 campaign, Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin committed to gutting neo-Marxist ideologies from state institutions. So, why won’t he commit to vetoing a bill that would require medical practitioners in the state to undergo “unconscious bias” training to keep their medical licenses?
Passed by the Democrat-controlled General Assembly last month, Senate Bill 35 aims to force the Virginia Board of Medicine to require health practitioners to complete “unconscious bias” and “cultural competency” training to renew their medical licenses. The bill would also require the board to select certain organizations “that identify and facilitate an evidence-based curriculum to comply with this legislation.”

Mitch McConnell and his friends are keen to paint the outgoing majority leader as the bookend of the Age of Reagan. Even some of his liberal opponents are happy to repeat the lazy mantra, if only to contrast gooey 1980s nostalgia with the populist conservatism of the new right.
(snip) any serious attempt to understand history’s longest-serving Senate leader needs to focus on the age in which he rose to power: those eight years of Republican rule in the early 2000s. (snip) by the time he won the mantle of minority leader, those days were gone. More than anything, Mitch McConnell was a Bush Republican.

Today, the Supreme Court gave a unanimous 9-0 rejection of Colorado’s state-level attempt to keep President trump off the ballot via Section 3 of the 14th amendment. Congress, not the States, is “responsible for enforcing Section 3 against federal officeholders and candidates.”
Techno Fog – According to the Supreme Court, States may only disqualify officeholders or candidates from state office. This power doesn’t extend to federal elections or officers: “Nothing in the Constitution delegates to the States any power to enforce Section 3 against federal officeholders and candidates.”
President Trump will deliver his remarks at 12 p.m.

The Supreme Court ruled that former President Donald Trump is eligible to run for office, overturning the Colorado Supreme Court decision that found him ineligible as a candidate and disqualified from the state ballot under Section 3 of the 14th Amendment.
“[R]esponsibility for enforcing Section 3 against federal officeholders and candidates rests with Congress and not the States. The judgment of the Colorado Supreme Court therefore cannot stand,” the per curiam order reads. “All nine Members of the Court agree with that result.”
The order was issued on March 4, just a day before more than a dozen states hold their primary elections.

The U.S. Supreme Court could issue a ruling as early as March 4 regarding a case that seeks to bar former President Donald Trump from appearing on primary and general election ballots for the 2024 presidential election.
The Supreme Court, in an unusual Sunday update to its schedule, didn’t specify what ruling it would issue. However, the justices on Feb. 8 heard arguments in the former president’s appeal of a ruling in Colorado and are due to issue their own decision.
The March 3 announcement said the opinion would be posted online at 10 a.m. Washington time. “The court will not take the bench,” it only said on its website.

A new study bucks recent trends in health research that say people who eat a lot of red or processed meat face an increased risk of heart disease.
A research team looked at UK Biobank data from over 1.8 million people: roughly 460,000 who ate processed meat, pork, beef, and mutton, respectively. Anyone with a history of cardiovascular disease was omitted from the study.
The team found that eating red or processed meat was not linked to a higher risk of cardiovascular disease. All odds ratios (ORs) of a person developing cardiovascular disease, coronary artery disease, stroke, heart failure, or atrial fibrillation were insignificant.

Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) said that former President Donald Trump made many wise decisions as president and can win in 2024 but the Utah Republican insisted he would “absolutely not” vote for him over President Joe Biden due to “character” and differences on foreign policy.
In an appearance on CNN’s “The Source” program on Wednesday, Mr. Romney said that, if the election were held today, President Trump “would probably win.”
He said there are “a lot” of things President Trump has done better than President Biden, adding that “Joe Biden has made extraordinary mistakes on the immigration front. It’s embarrassing how bad he’s been.”

Today’s second rally takes place in Richmond, VA – underscoring a strategic push in Virginia, a state that has seen a political shift in recent years. The timing of Trump’s rally, just days before Super Tuesday, is no coincidence. This pre-primary event is a clear attempt to make a final push for support in a state that could be crucial for Republican primaries.
Trump’s rally is expected to start at 6 p.m.
