With the same tenacity shown by the legendary outlaw himself, Utah lawmakers are once again trying to turn the site of the childhood home of Butch Cassidy into a state monument. [SNIP] Despite previous failed attempts to seek a designation for the site, the resolution sponsored by Rep. Carl Albrecht reads "that it is in the best interest of Piute County to preserve and maintain the Butch Cassidy home as a state monument." [SNIP] Cassidy worked closely with his partner — "Sundance Kid" Harry Longabaugh. The two were immortalized in a 1969 film starring Paul Newman and Robert Redford.

The drop represents a major hit for Disney, which has been pouring billions of dollars into its streaming services without yet reaching profitability.

Last week, a court in Hong Kong ordered that Evergrande, China’s massive property developer, must be liquidated. Real estate accounts for about one-quarter of China’s GDP, and Evergrande isn’t the only troubled part of the Chinese real estate sector. While I’d always like to see China constrained, not only is a collapsing China dangerous, but the real estate collapse also reminds us of what’s happening domestically. Business Insider reported on Evergrande’s liquidation, which has long been expected and which will be carried out in an orderly fashion. The assets are valued at $245 billion (which I suspect is inflated), while the company’s debts are $300 billion.

American deaths at the hands of illegal aliens “should not be politicized,” Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, who is facing impeachment, told the Washington Post this week. In a long profile by the Post, Mayorkas is featured as a victim of attacks by Republican lawmakers. This week, House Republicans fell just shy of the majority needed to approve articles of impeachment against Mayorkas, though leadership has vowed to try again. One of the reasons House Republicans have sought to impeach Mayorkas, as the Post notes, is the federal government’s inability to protect Americans from illegal immigration. Last year, for example, Mayorkas recalled having to face Angel Mom Elisa Tambunga.
