Boeing Co (BA.N) said on Sunday it will have to do more work on about 50 undelivered 737 MAX airplanes, potentially delaying some near-term deliveries, after its supplier Spirit AeroSystems (SPR.N), discovered two mis-drilled holes on some fuselages.
Boeing confirmed the findings in response to a Reuters query after industry sources said an "edge margin", or spacing problem, had been found in holes drilled on a window frame on some jets. President Joe Biden embraced his son Hunter after the men exited The Ivy restaurant in Beverly Hills, where they were celebrating Hunter's 54th birthday.
First lady Jill Biden had joined them at the restaurant but did not leave with them. Hunter's young son Beau, 3, came out with his father and grandfather. President Biden bent down to give his grandson a kiss.

House Democrats from Texas went after Gov. Greg Abbott (R) on Sunday over a standoff at the U.S.-Mexico border between state and federal law enforcement, accusing him of inciting potential violence and making border safety a purely political issue.
Rep. Joaquin Castro (D-Texas) described Abbott’s border security program as a “disaster” and part of the “most virulent anti-immigrant sentiment in a generation.” The governor appeared to ignore a Supreme Court order last month which allowed federal Border Patrol to remove barriers erected by state law enforcement. Abbott shrugged off the order, claiming that state law “supersedes” federal.
Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) on Sunday shot down a suggestion that former President Trump was exerting undue influence on decisions in the House about a potential border deal.
In an interview on NBC News’s “Meet the Press,” Kristen Welker asked Johnson whether Trump was “calling the shots here,” as the Speaker continued to insist that any border deal should be equivalent to H.R. 2 — a hard-line conservative border deal that stands little chance of making it to the president’s desk.
National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union” that the United States will take additional action after earlier airstrikes targeting Iran-backed militant groups, but he would not specify where including ruling out Iran.
Sullivan said, “The president ordered strikes in Iraq and Syria in response to the tragic death of three brave service members. Those strikes were carried out Friday night to good affect.” He added, “The president was clear when he ordered them and when he conducted them that that was the beginning of our response. Firefighters are wrestling with huge forest fires that broke out in central Chile on Friday. Officials have extended curfews in cities most heavily affected by the blazes and said at least 64 people were killed.
The fires have been burning with the highest intensity around the city of Viña del Mar, where a botanical garden founded in 1931 was destroyed by the flames. At least 1,600 people have been left without homes.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams’ plan to distribute $53 million to city migrants on pre-paid credit cards was blasted by 50 Cent on Saturday, with the rapper saying the proposal simply inspires him to believe former President Donald Trump is the man to address the country’s manifest problems.
