Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is ending his turbulent presidential campaign and will endorse former President Donald Trump.
DeSantis announced he’s ending his campaign in a video.
DeSantis’ run came to a halt following a dispiriting second-place finish in Iowa, a state where he and allies poured millions into an aggressive get-out-the-vote effort that featured the governor visiting all 99 counties. He spent week after week in the state instead of establishing a presence in other early voting states like New Hampshire and South Carolina.

I've said for a year.....It's not his year. Should have stayed in Florida doing an outstanding job.
I am convinced, admittedly without solid proof, that his overly aggressive wife pushed him into this ill-advised run. Perhaps something like "Doc" Jill?

He got bad advice from everyone. It was his for the asking if he'd just waited out this race. He would have been unstoppable. He just got bad advice and I honestly think the Bushes did that on purpose. And his wife had visions of being First Lady and living in the White House. A mistake all around by everyone.

DeSantis presidential campaign proved to be not ready for prime time. Maybe 2028.....

I always thought that 2028 was his time to run. However, I'm concerned that the Bushes were involved with his running this time. This means the Rino's and the swamp are his backers which is not a good sign for the future.

What we now know for sure is that there will be a lot fewer RINOs in Congress next year. The only question is, what percentage of the replacements will be Trump supporters?

Thank you, Ron. You are making Florida great, and later, you may yet be needed to make America great again.

I’m sad. I was never going to vote for him while PDJT is in the mix. But I like(d) him. He always seemed fearless, which reminded me of PDJT.
However, if he was influenced by the Bushies’ advice, I’m inferring he is not wise in seeking and accepting counsel.
If money was a motivation, that’s a problem, too.
In any event, I’m not sure how he now rounds this circle back in the square hole.

He's the best governor in the country by far; he should have waited 'til '28 to run for POTUS.

Well Nimarata, you have your one on one with DJT. Unfortunately I think that all of DeSantis support will go to the true MAGA candidate and you will lose by a bigger margin.

I give him credit for exiting graciously and endorsing President Donald John Trump.

A said it yesterday.....momentum building for President Trump like a snowball rolling down a snowy mountainside, getting bigger, faster and more unstoppable as it goes.

I find attempts to fault Casey for any of this way off the mark and snarky.
We generally forget that when he first ran for governor he was NOT a good campaigner. We in Florida were very lucky he squeaked by Gillum. DeSantis is not particularly affable. He's improved, but he's still wonky.
He's shown outstanding leadership in office, though, and his landslide re-election was a reward. There's a car in my neighborhood that sports a bumper, "Ron DeSantis—the Best Governor Ever." I pretty much agree.
It's his misfortune to go up against probably the greatest campaigner in this generation, Donald Trump.

Now the question for Nikki is how much humiliation will it take in the votes to push her out?

This reversal follows DeSantis's admission three days ago that he regrets shunning media earlier in the campaign, but claimed he had enough resources to remain in the race.
