The House passed a short-term spending bill on Thursday, sending the legislation to Joe Biden’s desk with just two days left before government funding runs out.
The House approved the bill in a vote of 314 to 108, with 107 Republicans and 207 Democrats supporting the proposal. The House speaker, Republican Mike Johnson, took up the bill under suspension of the rules, so he needed two-thirds of the chamber to support the legislation to get it passed. In a potentially worrisome sign for Johnson, 106 Republicans opposed the bill as hard-right members of the conference called for steeper spending cuts.

THe last budget was due by September 30, 2022. This budget was due by September 30, 2023. The 2023-2024 budget is now 3 1/2 months past due. That means that Congress has hd 15 1/2 months to come up with the spending bills for the budget. One would think (since it is not a surprise when the budget is due every year), that Congress would actually do their jobs. How about less vacation and holidays so you can get your work done. How about no Summer recess so you can get your work done. Work 5 days per week, 52 days per year like everyone else. If they cannot get the budget completed, they should not get paid.

Meanwhile, government sponsored LGBT coloring books are being printed up and delivered to K-5 classrooms from coast to coast, not to mention universities being funded for all sorts of insane studies of homosexual peccadillos. And Mike Johnson says, "No problem, let it pass!"
Fire him.

I don't suppose that this 'Stopgap Bill' contains any language to 'stop the gaps' in our borders to hinder the flow of tens of thousands of illegal alien invaders coming through every day.

Question: what else is in that bill that will cripple our country even more than it is already?

Actually #12, I'm pretty sure that all the spending continues during a "shutdown".
And any that is suspended is later made up in full. So....no benefit to any shut down as far as cashflow goes. Only that they can't be creating as much havoc as they usually do.

This was a mistake.
The Dems are stalling. They are getting their army into place and outfitted. This is like Hamas demanding cease fires - its only to gain them more time. They are planning to KILL all opposing voices - mark my words.
However, I'll laugh at them from beyond the grave. Their hired soldiers will kill them in turn to loot the nation and world these so-called Elites planned to rule.

It should be plainly obvious now that there is no stomach for fighting the tidal wave of the socialist liberals.... the republican party becomes more embarrassing and worthless every day.
Time to create a TRUE 3rd party of the members of the BASE.
Time for talking is over. 10 millions ILLEGALS are going to be a burden we can no longer support.

Relax citizens, its just the 16th annual extension of the 2008 budget...with adjustments for inflation, of course. Its all fine, perfectly normal. Business as usual. Move along, nothing to see here.

I gotta wonder about Johnson's future, with this "sellout" it may be in peril!
