It is slowly dawning on liberals across America that DEI is, in most contexts, illegal. The whole point of DEI is to discriminate against disfavored groups, and in favor of preferred groups. Liberals have a hard time understanding that there is anything wrong with this, but the courts–most notably, recently, in the Harvard and UNC cases–are beginning to set them straight.
In many states, legislators aren’t waiting for litigation to unfold. They are passing laws barring universities from spending money on DEI, disbanding DEI programs, and so on. Of course this is causing consternation in the world of higher education. For a glimpse of how the other side thinks,

Oh NO! My DEI degree is worthless? How will I pay off my loans? I hear NYC needs people to clean hotels holding illegals. There's always McDonalds. While you are at it, see if some ambulance chaser can get a class action going against all your alma maters for fraud. Good luck, cuz there is no cure for foolishness.

Dont wait for the feckless RINO's in the NC legislature or in the US Congress to do anything about DEI. They have had ample opportunity to do that and have done nothing. There's not a true conservative in this state who has been elected. Thank you Thom Tilli$$

The big concern about DEI is not that incompetent people get into college but that they graduate and are hired to do jobs based on their degree but that they are incompetent to do. Many companies are encouraging DEI hires. This creates a core of weak minded people in these companies that destroys their competence and competitiveness.
Normally, you might think, so what, the dopey companies go out of business and another will take their place to fill demand. After all, there are lots of alternatives to Bud Light. That's how capitalism is supposed to work. However, with pervasive mental rot throughout the economy, the US as a whole loses capability and competitive standing. THAT matters to EVERYONE in the US. There will be less medical breakthroughs, less technical advancements, ..., even poorer performances in the arts.
A meritocracy based society is constantly seeking the smartest people to do the best things in the best ways. It's tragic that the "smart" people in colleges and universities are so indoctrinated to Leftism that they can't or won't understand that. They keep going the the well of failed progressive thinking seeking the "prize" that never comes.

Why do we need legislation? It is already illegal. Why haven't 100s of lawsuit been filed against every organization or school using dei to not admit students or hire employees. Conservatives really need to get it together and start using lawfare against their enemies.

The endgame of the DEI fantasy is to insert preferred group members into ALL positions in government, academia and large corporations. Forget about the Equality piece, they want everything. What the idealist fools fail to recognize is that their endgame ends with results that can plainly be seen in places like Zimbabwe and South Africa, failure to maintain the culture that the white folks have built and a collapse into a society that resembles the 17th century or worse. America now has locations that are approaching that level, Chicago, Minneapolis, New Orleans, New York, San Francisco, Washington, DC. Fight it where you live but it is important to avoid getting on planes, visiting hospitals, going to certain colleges or visiting cities where they have already taken over.

Hinderaker says often the people who benefit from these DEI programs are privileged people who fit into one of the preferred groups. I am quite familiar with a typical example of this. One of the people in my chain of command was I believe a GS-13. Although this was some years ago, the minimum current pay for this level is $104,000. The other parent was a high-ranking administrator in a suburban school system, and I believe was even higher paid.
For high school graduation, they gave their son an expensive set of wheels for his car that cost more than the car was worth. Their children received extensive scholarships to the state university which had no relation to academic achievement or athletic prowess but were totally based on the fact that one parent was a member of a preferred class.
