Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R-NJ) is expected to drop out of the 2024 presidential race, according to a report.
Journalist Mark Halperin broke the news on his Substack after speaking with two anonymous sources.
Halperin wrote that the Christie campaign was expected to make an announcement at 5 p.m. Eastern time. Christie is not expected to immediately announce an endorsement. (X) Christie has been the one GOP contender who dared to call out front-runner Donald Trump for his election lies and other untruths.

His campaign has not responded to requests for comment from Halperin.
This is a breaking story and may be updated.

Maybe Bruce Springsteen will be successful in talking his BIGGEST fan back into the race. Nobody, even Liz Cheney, hates Trump more than Chris Krispy, who has to weigh getting out of the race before he gets Kremed.

Chris "Cholesterol" Christie.........
June, 2017
"Gov. Chris Christie now has the lowest approval rating of any New Jersey governor in recorded history, and it’s hurting his lieutenant governor’s campaign to replace him, according to a poll released Wednesday."
"The Quinnipiac University poll shows Christie’s approval rating among New Jersey voters at just 15 percent, with 81 percent disapproving. Christie’s approval rating is the lowest Quinnipiac found for any governor it measured in any state in more than 20 years."

In the real world, he was never actually "in" the race.

But... but... but... he said he was a shoo-in! The people loved him! Or at least fifteen to twenty people once loved him when he handed out free gold coins.

I could write his speech: "I hate Donald Trump. I am dropping out of the race. I hate Donald Trump". Then walk off the stage and go. But no it will be a diatribe.

I listened to El Gordo Christie ramble on until I couldn't stand it no more, and listening to him babble, it's obvious why his campaign went nowhere - he's an annoying jerk. Shut up already and exit the scene. And don't come back.

Guess all the free money stopped flowing. I think that's the only reason he 'ran.'

It was a weighty decision he made with a very heavy heart as it weighed on his mind as he pondered the ponderous decision. Chances of ever winning the nomination had always been slim to none, but nevertheless, he chewed on the idea, with fantasies of the presidency filling his most capacious imagination.
Unnecessarily, he fed himself with bitterness, seasoned with animosity, so his stepping down was attended by the regurgitation of bitter, sour, acrid resentments.

Poor Chris. He’ll never be POTUS, thus denying him all that free ice cream from the WH mess.

Heard Christie's speech announcing his suspending his campaign. He spoke mostly about running on truth and stopping Trump. Not a peep about who really needs to be stopped: Biden and Democrats. Seems that Christie would rather have a job at CNN or MSNBC and have Biden as President again than to defeat Biden and the Democrats. That is the Truth!

I never understood his rationale for running in the first place. He had no natural constituency and was never never likeable.

Do they still get to walk away and keep the remaining 'donations' they received for their campaign?
