The Vatican announced Tuesday that Pope Francis has chosen “diversity in the Church” as his prayer intention for the month of January 2024.
“Diversity and unity were already very much present in the first Christian communities,” the pontiff remarked in his video announcing his prayer intention for January. (snip) In July 2021, however, Francis clamped down on the celebration of the Traditional Latin Mass, calling the practice divisive. In his apostolic letter titled Traditionis Custodes (“Guardians of Tradition”), the pope banned the celebration of the Traditional Latin Mass in Catholic parishes and revoked accommodations to priests who want to use the extraordinary form of the Catholic liturgy.

Benedict XVI is still my pope. This guy is a fraud. I shudder to think who the Cardinals have lined up to replace him when the time comes. If the time comes.

My prayer intention for January is for peace in Israel. I am a Catholic and will be one till I die, but I don't listen to Francis anymore.

Perhaps the phony pope can point to any passage of scripture that mentions or supports diversity.

can the Pillsbury Dough Boy be impeached or otherwise discharged from his royal seat?
- we don't need him in the Holy Roman Catholic Church because
- he doesn't exhibit the kind of "religious practices" we are used to and are familiar with
- there already is " ‘Diversity in the Church’" and
- we don't need any more

I have no regrets walking away from the Catholic church decades ago. It's private for me.

As Catholics we are not "individuals." When we go to Mass we are ALL part of the "Mystical Body of Christ" as we worship together. No one is singled out by race or ethnicity. The word "Catholic" means universal.
Why Francis is doing this is cruel. Millions of people love the Latin Mass. We have several large parishes in Chicago where it is celebrated each Sunday. The Masses are packed. Why does he question the motives of those who want to attend? I love to attend. It takes me back to my childhood, where, in grade school we learned all the parts and learned to sing the major responses. I actually feel that I am in a special, holy, place. I don't attend Latin exclusively and I find that my mind wanders far more frequently when I don't.
I never thought that I would feel rebellious towards The Church. I feel that I am losing my country to people in charge who actually hate all that it stands for, and now my Church for the same reason. Nothing, and no human, however, will ever make me doubt my Faith in either.

From this 70 y/o Catholic, I see that Francis engages in routine, confusing, double-speak and makes me fear he isn't completely faithful to our doctrine. I am also Jesuit-trained and am well aware of that order's tendency to occupy the edge of truth using the excuse of 'dialog' to mitigate complaints. Hence the recent Vatican synodality as if untrained lay-persons had some pretense at doctrinal expertise when not even our priests are all theologians. Every Sunday at Mass, I see real diversity with white, black, hispanic, and asians members of the congregation in attendance. And I know that is not what the pope means. Talking out the side of his mouth he says 'diversity' but means, gays, trannies, and all manner of perverts. Yes, Jesus ate with sinners - but he never pretended that their sins were acceptable.

What is extraordinary about a Latin Mass?
It was once the only mass there was.
Maybe he can lower the standards for Priests so he can get some DEI going.
Francis is the Joe Biden of Catholicism. Biden attempts to destroy America , Francis attempts to destroy the Church.
The good thing is he is 87 years old and is not immortal.
Perhaps the next Pope will be more interested in the Faith and less interested in immigration and DEI.

Diversity in the Church?
I agree.
Particularly in the bureaucracy, they could use more Moral, Upright, Straight people to replace some of the Homosexuals, Pedophiles and Perverts.

What ever happened to “peace on earth”?
That’s what you get when you have a commie pope.

And who gets to define what is diverse and what isn't?
Blessing gay unions is diverse, but celebrating a Latin Mass is not?

Satanist, Francis the First, wants diversity but nothing Christian included! You gotta know where this Pederast will spend eternity!

"Diversity in the Church" = Sin in the Church.
The only way the Pope could make such an endorsement is if he does not believe his own Bible...and that slope is a very slippery one.
