Senator Tommy Tuberville (R., Ala.) said Tuesday he will release his hold on military promotions, effectively ending his months-long effort to pressure the Pentagon into changing its abortion policy.
In February, Tuberville initially blocked the Senate votes from moving forward over the Pentagon’s new abortion-leave policy that gave troops access to abortion services while on duty. For the past nearly ten months, the Alabama Republican delayed the confirmations of more than 400 military nominees despite bipartisan pressure.
In a closed-door meeting on Capitol Hill, Tuberville reportedly agreed with Senators Dan Sullivan (R., Alaska) and Joni Ernst’s (R., Iowa) plan to release his holds on the military promotions for three-star officers and below,

The presidents of Harvard University, the University of Pennsylvania, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology emphasized the importance of free speech on campus when pressed during a Tuesday congressional hearing on how antisemitism was allowed to run rampant at their respective institutions, which have in recent years failed to defend the First Amendment on countless occasions in the name of protecting marginalized communities.
Addressing lawmakers in front of the House Committee on Education & the Workforce Tuesday morning, Harvard president Claudine Gay condemned Hamas’s brutal attack and the resulting antisemitism on American campuses. Asked how antisemitism had become rife on her campus in particular,

The Department of Justice is preventing two would-be whistleblowers from testifying in the Biden impeachment investigation, House Republicans claim in a report on the status of their investigation released Tuesday.
The 78-page report, issued by the House Judiciary, Ways and Means, and Oversight Committees, accuses the DOJ of stonewalling the congressional investigation into allegations that the Biden administration gave the president’s son special treatment while investigating his failure to pax federal income taxes in 2017 and 2018.
“The Justice Department has still not fully complied with requests for relevant documents, and it has impeded the Committees’ investigation by baselessly preventing two Tax Division officials

The family of the young Kansas City Chiefs fan who was smeared as racist after he donned a tribal headdress and face paint at a recent game is threatening to sue the outlet that sparked the controversy for publishing what they saw are defamatory claims.
Holden Armenta’s parents, Shannon and Raul, hired law firm Clare Locke LLP to compel Deadspin, the outlet which published the hit piece condemning his getup, to retract the story. Authored by senior writer Carron Phillips, the story was headlined, “The NFL needs to speak out against the Kansas City Chiefs fan in Black face, Native headdress.”
The parents also warned that they may launch legal action

Hundreds gathered at the United Nations on Monday for a special session spearheaded by Israel’s Permanent Mission to the UN, to raise awareness of the sexual crimes committed against women during Hamas’s October 7 attacks on southern communities, amid growing anger over the international community’s perceived silence on the issue.
“On October 7, Israel suffered its most brutal massacre since the Holocaust; the atrocities were more barbaric than ISIS, some say more than the Nazis,” said Israeli Ambassador to the UN Gilad Erdan at the outset of the event. “Families were burned alive, children executed in front of their parents and parents executed in front of their children.

A corporation owned and controlled by Hunter Biden made several direct monthly payments to President Biden beginning in 2018, according to bank records released by the House Oversight Committee on Monday.
The subpoenaed bank records obtained by National Review reveal Owasco PC established a monthly payment of $1,380 to President Biden beginning in September 2018. The committee says the payments establish a direct benefit Biden received from his family’s foreign business dealings, despite Biden’s claims that he has never benefitted from or been involved in his son’s ventures.
“This wasn’t a payment from Hunter Biden’s personal account but an account for his corporation that received payments from China

Pro-Palestinian protesters marching through Philadelphia Sunday congregated outside Goldie, a falafel restaurant owned by American–Israeli chef Michael Solomonov, vandalizing its front door and windows and chanting “Goldie, Goldie, you can’t hide, we charge you with genocide.” Solomonov, born in Israel and raised in Pittsburgh, focused on Italian cuisine at the start of his career. That changed in 2003, when his brother, David, who had volunteered for the Israel Defense Forces, was killed by snipers on the Lebanese border. Solomonov now owns a variety of Israeli- and Jewish-style restaurants, mainly in Philadelphia.

Gov. Greg Abbott (R-TX) announced sweeping new measures aimed at keeping illegal migrants out of the United States as thousands have unlawfully crossed the border through his state under the Biden Administration. On Sunday, Abbott announced that state officers will soon be allowed to arrest and detain illegal aliens in an effort to curb the mass numbers of migrants entering the U.S. through the southern border.
"Well, I'll tell you a couple of things very interesting. For one, the problem is extraordinarily bad. The numbers are high, and that is because Joe Biden continues to lay out the welcome mat, welcoming illegal immigrants into the United States of America,"

Pro-Hamas protesters on Sunday night took to the streets of the West Philadelphia neighborhood known as University City, home to Ivy-league school UPenn, igniting smoke bombs with the colors of the Palestinian flag and chanting “Intifada revolution.”
Merriam-Webster describes intifada as an “UPRISING, [or] REBELLION,” while Wikipedia defines it further:
An intifada (Arabic: انتفاضة intifāḍah) is a rebellion or uprising, or a resistance movement. It is a key concept in contemporary Arabic usage referring to a uprising against oppression.[1
Yes, they are on the streets of an American city calling for rebellion. As Libs of TikTok's Chaya Raichik writes, "Imagine being a Jewish student there…"

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) spent the first 48 hours of renewed fighting by attacking targets throughout Gaza, and fighting deep into southern portions of the Gaza Strip — apparently surprising Hamas, which expected Israel to stay in the north alone.
The U.S. had openly opposed an Israeli invasion of the southern Gaza Strip, saying that Israel had to account for civilians first. Whether Israel defied the U.S, or the U.S. participated in the ruse, Hamas does not appear to have expected the southern push.
Israel also released a map to help civilians avoid fighting, with different areas of the Gaza Strip numbered. The U.S. suggested that the map satisfied its concerns,

Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) is taking worldwide criticism after appearing to deflect criticism of rape and sexual violence by Palestinian Hamas terrorists against Israeli women in its October 7 terror attack, saying Israeli misdeeds had to be considered.
As Breitbart News has reported, there is ample evidence of sexual violence against Israeli women during the attack, though the Israeli military was not able to conduct forensic tests, and the apparent victims known thus far were killed and cannot testify.
CNN host Dana Bash, interviewing Jayapal on State of the Union on Sunday, asked Jayapal — who leads the Progressive Caucus — about whether she condemned sexual violence committed on October 7.

The recent decision by Disney to pull its advertising from X drew fire from Elon Musk. During a conference appearance, the billionaire used the far more explicit form of telling someone to go jump in a lake to respond to the move. Musk also called out Disney CEO Bob Iger by name, accusing him of trying to "blackmail" X with money to eliminate free speech on the social media platform.
What was the reason behind Disney's move? According to reports, the company was reacting to a manufactured Media Matters "study" in which they were able to produce some ads next to antisemitic content. As RedState noted,
