I was cruising around on Twitter and saw something that blew my mind: Hamas is refusing to let any of the 600 American citizens (and 400 Canadians, and who knows how many others from elsewhere) who were in Gaza at the time of the attacks to leave.
Uh, wut? Why didn’t I know this before, and why hasn’t the media made a big deal of it? [Tweets]
At issue are Americans who were in Gaza on 10/7, whom Hamas has refused to allow passage out of the country.
The nugget was buried in a story about the suspension of flights out of Israel that had been facilitated by the State Department.

A Nevada man was arrested last week in connection to allegedly issuing ominous and antisemitic threats to a U.S. senator in the wake of Hamas’s bloody terror attack on Israel, according to a criminal complaint.
ABC7 reported:
John Anthony Miller, 43, allegedly began making the calls to the unnamed female senator on Oct. 11, four days after Israel’s war with Hamas began. […] While the senator is not named in the complaint, Sen. Jacky Rosen is Jewish, and Miller’s threats repeatedly seek to tie the lawmaker’s support for Israel to what he says is her Jewish background.
Miller is accused of leaving a voicemail with Rosen’s office on October 17th, court documents said.

We've seen a lot of twisted reactions calling for a ceasefire in the war between Israel and Hamas, including protests like those in New York City, where people chanted in support of Hamas.

We saw an unbelievably awful response from the UN — that organization that's supposed to be about bringing people together — that showed again it's about anything but with a couple of its resolutions last week. The juxtaposition of the results of those resolutions was jarring. First, they failed to pass a resolution condemning the Hamas attack on Israel. So that couldn't get the two-thirds vote required to pass.

Lost in the swirl of events over the past three weeks, as well as the rapid pace of events in cases in multiple courts involving former President Trump, is the fact that he moved to dismiss the Washington D.C. case filed against him by Special Counsel Jack Smith based on a claim of “Presidential immunity” from criminal prosecution for acts while in office.
On October 19, 2023, Smith filed an Opposition to that motion. Much like the motion itself, the Opposition escaped scrutiny as it came around the same time Sidney Powell and Kenneth Chesebro pled guilty – to what I’m still not certain – in the Georgia case,

After a University of California, Davis event Save Women's Sports spokeswoman Riley Gaines was scheduled to speak at in November was pulled from Eventbrite's website on grounds it violated their woke community guidelines and terms of service, Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R) is speaking out - and taking action.
Before we get to that, let's first take a look at the message Eventbrite sent informing the Davis College Republicans as to why the November 3rd event was removed from their site:
"We have determined that your event is not permitted on the Eventbrite marketplace as it violates our Community Guidelines and Terms of Service, with which all users agree to comply.

Now that Rep. Mike Johnson (R-LA) has been elected as the Speaker of the House, you know that Democrats are desperately trying to dig up any kind of dirt that they can find on him. Democrats target anyone who might stand in the way of their power, so you know it's a good sign that they're having such a meltdown over Johnson.
But you know how hard up they must be with The Atlantic’s effort to attack Johnson. It’s pretty comical, truthfully. If this is all they can come up with, Democrats are going to spend a lot of time gnashing their teeth.
What have they come up with?

Dean Phillips (D-Minn.) launched a longshot bid on Friday to unseat Presidentish Joe Biden in the upcoming Democratic primaries that functionally don’t matter, yet somehow Phillips has Democrats freaking out.
Washington Post columnist Dan Balz serves as the unofficial voice of what all the correct people in Washington are thinking, and he led his Saturday column with the story of how Sen. Eugene McCarthy — another Minnesota Democrat — spoiled President Lyndon Johnson’s reelection in 1968.
Phillips’ campaign, Balz wrote, "is built on perceived anxiety about Biden’s age," and serves as "a placeholder for the unease about Biden, 80, that exists among many Democrats."

The antisemitic Left seems ascendant. The UN appears to be pro-Jihad. Even these terrible days will pass into something better.
There is a famous story about King Solomon, the wisest of all men. He asked a jeweler to fashion him a ring that would help him to keep his head straight at all times. The jeweler was overwhelmed by the task given him and did not know what to offer the king. With the deadline approaching, the jeweler made a gold ring engraved in Hebrew, “This too shall pass.” King Solomon was thrilled with the ring. When one finds himself in bad times, he must hold onto himself

They’re as predictable as the tides – the left-wing press and their push otherize anything not directly related to the progressive agenda. Republicans finally got their act together and elected a new Speaker of the House. Immediately after the vote came the long knives for Mike Johnson because he made the mistake of being a Republican.
If you’re wondering who Mike Johnson is, you’re not alone. His name is a bore at warm milk; he sounds like the guy who played linebacker on your high school football team, though you can’t be sure. I feel like if I really thought about it,

Iran has begun aggressive war games.
Turkey—a supposed NATO ally—pledged publicly to send its troops to Gaza.
Putin has invited Hamas and Iran to Moscow for private talks.
Netanyahu announces an expansion of Israel’s necessary defense, and the reaction intensifies support for the terrorists—not Israel.
In hundreds of major cities, hundreds of thousands of protestors chant slogans supporting the complete elimination of the State of Israel and Jewish people altogether.
In America, those chanting such things appear to far outnumber those in attendance at rallies supporting Israel.
Most Western governments have been decidedly silent on the matter. In America, while Biden has parroted the right ideas,

As a young man, I can remember getting caught reading a Playboy magazine and using the excuse that I was reading an article. Obviously, I was trying to imply that all of those pictures of naked voluptuous women didn’t interest me. Nobody bought my excuse then, and we shouldn’t buy Biden’s now.
Of course, there are major differences in our stories. I was a young guy with raging hormones trying to convince people that it was the written word that interested me and not the pictures. Biden is going in the opposite direction. He can no longer correctly interpret the written word and is now relying on the pictures of reporters

The hits just keep on coming exposing the Public Health™ lies.
Common sense might dictate that one not receive flu and COVID shots at the time same – yet that’s exactly the recommendation of the CDC.
It turns out common sense wins out over the CDC yet again. [Tweet]
Via ABC News (emphasis added):
Older adults who received last year’s COVID booster and a high-dose version of the flu vaccine in the same visit may have a potential increased risk of stroke, according to a new FDA-funded study.
