The IDF said Tuesday that a hospital blast which reportedly claimed the lives of hundreds of civilians earlier in the day was caused by a misfired rocket launched by the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ), a terrorist group operating within the Gaza Strip.
“According to intelligence information, from several sources we have, the PIJ organization is responsible for the failed [rocket] fire that hit the hospital,” the IDF said in a statement. According to the Israeli military’s analysis of “operational systems, an enemy rocket barrage was carried out towards Israel, which passed in the vicinity of the hospital, when it was hit,” the statement added.

Nishad Singh, a Sam Bankman-Fried underling, testified on Monday that the disgraced former FTX CEO had his employees make political donations in his name despite the company’s massive shortfall. Singh, the third FTX insider to testify against Bankman-Fried, said in court that despite the digital currency platform’s financial problems in September 2022, he continued to receive funds from Alameda Research, the hedge fund associated with FTX, and allow FTX associates to use the money to donate to Democrat candidates in what he referred to as a “straw donor” scheme.

Palestinian officials say hundreds are likely dead after suspected Israeli airstrikes on a Gaza hospital, as humanitarian concerns mount over Israel’s ongoing deprivation of food, fuel and electricity to the enclave’s population.
Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital was sheltering thousands of displaced people when it was bombed Tuesday, the Palestinian Health Ministry said in a statement. Many victims are still under the rubble, it added.
The Israel Defense Forces are looking the hospital attack, spokesperson Daniel Hagari said, adding that it was unclear if the cause was an IDF strike or a failed Hamas launch.

Representative Jim Jordan fell short of the necessary 217 votes to become the next speaker of the House in the first round of voting on Tuesday, as a significant number of moderates within the Republican caucus refused to fall in line behind the hardline Ohio lawmaker.
While Republicans remain divided on Jordan, the Democrats unanimously backed House minority leader Hakeem Jeffries (D., N.Y.), just as they did when former Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R., Calif.) was elected in January.
At the end of the first ballot, Jeffries garnered 212 votes while Jordan received 200 and 20 others voted against the latter. Neither received a majority

The king of Jordan poured cold water on German Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s hopes that neighboring Arab countries could take in Palestinian refugees who are fleeing the Gaza Strip ahead of an anticipated ground offensive by the Israeli army.
The rebuff by King Abdullah II was made Tuesday morning at a press conference with Scholz following a meeting in the chancellery in Berlin, which Scholz also used to issue a warning to Iran and to Hezbollah against intervening in the Israel-Hamas conflict.
“I think I can speak here on behalf of Jordan … but also our friends in Egypt: This is a red line … no refugees to Jordan

US troops are making their way to the coast of Israel as the US continues to reiterate its support for the Middle Eastern country, CNN reported.
A defense official who spoke with the outlet said a rapid response force of 2,000 US Marines and sailors is headed toward the coast of Israel. It is unclear if this team would join the heavily armed US Navy carrier strike groups sent to the Mediterranean country's coast on Sunday. The USS Gerald R. Ford arrived last Tuesday, while the USS Eisenhower departed on Saturday.
Fox News reported that the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit was the Marine unit sent to Israel, according

When Donald Trump was in office the United States cut off funding that was going to terrorists.
It wasn’t a tough call. Or rather, it shouldn’t have been one. But as you would expect the Left in the US and elsewhere have a soft spot for Palestinian terrorists, who get a pass because their primary victims are Israeli Jews. As “White colonialists” (European Jews are White, but vast numbers are Arab and Black) the Jews are an approved target of hate.
The UN refuses to label Hamas or Hezbollah as terrorist groups and as a consequence they are eligible recipients of foreign aid, and the UN funnels huge amounts of

WARSAW, Poland — Poland’s voters delivered a clear verdict. After eight years of rule by a right-wing government, they have had enough. While the conservative ruling Law and Justice party won more votes than any other single party in a parliamentary election on Sunday, it lost its majority and will not hold enough seats to govern the country.
Three opposition groups who waged an energetic campaign on promises to help restore national unity, rule of law and cooperative ties with the European Union and other allies, are poised to get their turn to steer the Central European nation of 38 million people. But the path ahead will be demanding.

The Israel Defense Forces and Defense Ministry announced Monday that they were planning to evacuate civilians who live in towns up to two kilometers (1.25 miles) from the Lebanese border amid repeated rocket and missile attacks by Hezbollah and allied Palestinian factions in recent days.
The ministry’s National Emergency Management Authority (NEMA) said the residents would be taken to state-funded guesthouses.
The IDF said it has notified the heads of the local authorities in the area of the upcoming implementation of the plan. According to the IDF and Defense Ministry, the 28 communities included in the plan were: Ghajar, Dishon, Kfar Yuval, Margaliot, Metula, Avivim, Dovev, Ma’ayan Baruch, Bar’am, Manara, Yiftah,

A Cornell University professor was caught on camera telling students Hamas’ terror attack on Israel — which has left more than 1,400 dead — was “exhilarating” and “energizing.”
The remarks were made at a pro-Palestine protest by Russell Rickford, an associate professor of history at the top-tier Ithaca, New York school and posted online Sunday by a student who called them “shameful.” The footage of Rickford’s impassioned speech was also shared with The Post by two other tipsters. They declined to say when and where exactly the rally took place, but both said they were shocked by the brazen remarks.

The Taliban jihadist regime in Afghanistan sent its Industry and Commerce Minister Nooruddin Azizi to Beijing on Monday to attend this week’s “Belt and Road Forum,” a celebration of ten years of China’s global predatory lending scheme.
The Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) is nominally a program run by the Chinese Communist Party that offers poor nations funding to invest in otherwise unaffordable road, port, and railway projects, allegedly designed to help those countries become more competitive economically and ship their exports more efficiently. China offers funding in the form of high-interest loans with a long list of conditions attached, which later erode the sovereignty of the countries involved.

BBC staff in London say they fear walking outside alone after being harassed by the Iranian authorities, with British counter-terrorism police warning of an increased security threat.
The Guardian has been told that journalists at the BBC’s Persian language news outlet are being targeted with offensive messages and threats of sexual assault, with reports of family members based in Iran being arbitrarily detained.
In one message, an Iranian-British journalist working for the BBC says she was told: “On Westminster Bridge is a very deep river. It doesn’t matter that you don’t live in Iran – we can also do whatever we want in London.”
She says: “I left my country
