Disney spent at least $125 million to market and promote The Creator, and like everything else The Disney Grooming Institute touches, it exploded into a million pieces of failure. (snip) it came in third place, opening to just $14 million.
Worldwide, it grossed just $32 million. This sucker is DOA. No way will it clear the $200 million needed just to break even. China might like it, but China steals 75 percent of the box office. The Creator lost to Saw X (that’s “ten”), which came in second with $18 million. First place went to Paw Patrol 2’s $23 million opening.

Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

I think Disney is into Sado Masachist. They take pleasure in hurting themselves. Might take two generations to undo the damage.

It used to be that every movie they made was like hitting the jackpot. It was a simple business model they had that really worked well. They refuse to accept their new model isn't working but yet the keep producing woke movies. I guess they can just ask for a govt bailout

Disney has become synonymous with child predators. It’s that simple. Parents will not support a corporation regardless of its previous reputation if it openly goes after their kids. It’s a pretty simple concept. To continue down the dark path that Disney has chosen is a clear indicator of the company’s unwillingness to change their woke anti-children policies. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

This early gloating sounds like the panning of the Barbie movie. Well, look at https://www.boxofficemojo.com/year/2023/ Turns out that piece of anti 'patriarchal' nonsense was a box office hit. True, Sound of Freedom beat the latest Indiana Jones domestically. But they aren't as devastated as... well... they merit.
This thing will be plugged relentlessly in ads until it saves face.

Disney keeps digging and the hole continues to get deeper. I see a pattern here but apparently they don't.

I don't see how any of the three can be successful.
All 3 sound awful.

I wish the Disney company would go back to producing fairytales and stop with the LGBTQ+ grooming tales.

FTA: "How many people even knew The Creator was out there?"
I honestly never heard of it until I read this article, not that I would have gone to see it if I had. I am old enough that I could take my kids to see Disney movies. Now, I would not even let my grandkids watch a Disney movie at home. I might let them watch one of the older movies that my kids watched 25 to 30 years ago, but I refuse to buy anything from Disney.

They've been pushing The Creator ads on streaming venues lately...honestly, it looked like a pretty good sci-fi feature, but being a Disney production, no, I will not waste my time watching it, or any OTHER Disney production...maybe the old ones before Walt passed and they went 'woke'...but not the current blob of drivel...

The Creator...14M
Saw X...18M
Paw Patrol 2...23M
Sounds like none of the new movies have caught on. One is for little children. Another glorifies torture and murder. The third is PC. People want to be entertained and the movie industry consistently misses the target.

Millions see "Disney" and refuse to take their children, the precise opposite of what it used to be, when Disney meant good stuff for kids.
Not any more.

So, I actually went to see The Creator because I like science fiction about AI. What I saw was shocking. The movie is a Disney CGI action sci-fi that is well made with great effects. The story is a bit emotional and sappy, but with a happy ending.
What is shocking is that this was made as a Chinese propaganda movie, with the US as the evil killers (ala. Apocalypse Now) destroying the innocent "New Asia" villagers who work at jobs making robots. The conflict is between the Chinese who believe AI is peaceful and good, and the US that frames robots for destroying LA and spends the movie trying to destroy them with a giant drone like weapons platform. The lesson that Joshua, the protagonist, must learn is that he is fighting for the evil side (US) and must betray them to protect the innocent New Asian AI child who can lead him to his wife.
DIsney is so obsessed with making money in the Chinese market that the credits and titles all have Chinese subtitles even on US screens. It is pure anti-American propaganda, pro-Chinese propaganda. Amazing.
