Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., introduced a measure against McCarthy known as a motion to vacate on Monday night, accusing him of breaking promises he made to win the speaker's gavel in January.
Eleven Republicans joined all Democrats in voting against killing that measure on Tuesday afternoon. They are: Gaetz, Reps. Andy Biggs, R-Ariz., Matt Rosendale, R-Mont., Victoria Spartz, R-Ind., Nancy Mace, R-S.C., Ken Buck, R-Colo., Warren Davidson, R-Ohio, Eli Crane, R-Ariz., Cory Mills, R-Fla., Bob Good, R-Va., and Tim Burchett, R-Tenn.

The Democrats, as usual, are united. I'm afraid that they will figure out a way to get Jeffries as Speaker. Then kiss the whole impeachment inquiry good-bye.

The Rino's want to give in again--just one more time, until the next time. Like there is no one that could possibly replace McCarthy? Is that true? Oh, but the House will descend into chaos, always worried about themselves, but never about the country, which has already descended into a chaotic communist police state. No, McCarthy needs to go. Get someone that is not from a blue state, and that does not govern by uniting with the Democrats.

The wimpy House Republicans will not be happy until there is a leftist and socialist Democrat speaker who will tell them to sit in their chairs, shut up, and support leftist and socialist Democrat legislation that will be called unity!

As usual, Gaetz and his tiny band grab media attention and, as usual, don't even have a plan for who should be speaker. Not even OP has a recommendation. (No, Jim Jordan doesn't want the job.) Andy Biggs? Forgetaboutit. No one comes to mind.
Meanwhile Hakeem hangs out in the weeds, grinninhg and salivating.

We saw Kevin McCarthy make some major promises... and then break them. It is a mess, removing him with no successor lined up, but we need a do-over. Somebody will step forward and hopefully they will be a better GOP consensus builder.

Gaetz is like the dog that chased the car. He may have caught it, but has no idea how to drive.

Re #8, when will that perfect speaker "step forward"? The House can do nothing else until they elect a speaker... (cricketa),,,

Electing a Speaker from California was a terrible mistake.
I believe most democrats knew that from the beginning, the fact is not one Republican really wants the job, they are all too chicken stuff to want it.

Democrats have to be laughing their *** off at how stupid the Republicans are.
Principle is one thing if you've been operating under General Order instead of these Continuing Resolutions which have no room for "using the power of the purse".

Gee, looks like conservative Rebublicans are all in on diversity. See how diverse they can be with Democrats! Power is in unity. One is greater than dysfunctional many. It took less than 2 years for Rebublicans to prove they can't goobern. Ill say this, I have seen monkey feces fights at the zoo more organized than the Rebublicans in the House.

it took 15 voting sessions to "elect" him and only 1 to eject him, how much trust does anyone think the repubs really had in mccarthy, he was doomed from day 1 for Madame Guillotine and it happened, so now he's Representative McCarthy
moral of this melodrama is: do what you said you were gonna do, when you say you're gonna do it - this game of trying to "get along" with the demcommies is outlandishly a foolish delusion on mccarthy's part, the demcommies don't play like that and it's been proven over and over again, with them you do as "they" say or else you are persona non grata

It looks like Kevin McCarthy is about to be removed as Speaker of the House. The vote will happen live at about 4pm Eastern. I am staying hopeful that a better GOP Speaker candidate will be chosen, and soon. We deserve one.
