The impeachment trial of Texas Republican Attorney General Ken Paxton came to an end Saturday, with the eligible state senators voting not to remove him from office. The GOP-held state House voted to impeach the attorney general in late May over alleged corruption, bribery, obstruction and other charges related to the FBI’s investigation into real estate developer and Paxton donor, Nate Paul. The senators acting as the jury did not sustain the 16 articles of impeachment, and voted to acquit Paxton, according to the trial livestream.

Paxton's innocence of all charges were proven by any measure by the Paxton defense team. Only 2 Republicans consistently voted for the articles of impeachment, whom I believe were Robert Nichols and Kelly Hancock. Any Republican that voted for impeachment should be voted out of office. Buxby and his defense team did a remarkable job. The House Manager for impeachment was a disgusting rodent! Rusty Hardin was boring, and took hours to get a witness resume, so the defense would have no remaining time to present their case.

Wow. The vote was quick…there was no evidence to debate in this poorly considered political stunt. Bye bye, GWB. Let Romney lead you away…more of your ilk to purge to come.

Another phony 'impeachment' where there was NO evidence provided of any crimes. Now, arrest the prosecutor and put HIM (her?) in prison.

Yeah! I live in Idaho which is a red state full of RINO's. A former Idaho Governor is now advocating for rank-choice voting which will make Idaho blue for sure. Californians are moving here in droves to escape the laws there, but then they advocate some of the same crap here. Glad I'm old.

Abortion: A Non-Existent Right 5 replies

Murdering the Unborn Child is a practice as old as mankind itself, but that doesn’t make it a moral practice or something acceptable with any real justification. The Democratic Party’s century long advocacy and support for Baby Murder doesn’t make it more palatable, since their reasons have long been based on premises beyond immoral, as they have yet to be able to acknowledge that an embryo is a living being, while they also have pulled a non-existent “right to abortion” from thin air, largely due to a January 22nd 1973 Supreme Court ruling on Roe v. Wade.

A distressing new crime trend known as 'flash rob mobs' is on the rise and likely to cost California a whopping $19billion a year, guidance from the LAPD warns. The incidents have become increasingly frequent in soft-on-crime California, where detectives in the state's largest police force are now assembling designated teams to tackle the problem. The groups have been pillaging stores including Nordstrom and Versace. In response to the recent spate, officials at the Los Angeles Police Department have formed a taskforce, named the the Organized Retail Crime Taskforce (ORCT).

NEW YORK — Yelling that the future and their lives depend on ending fossil fuels, tens of thousands of protesters on Sunday kicked off a week where leaders will try once again to curb climate change primarily caused by coal, oil and natural gas. But protesters say it’s not going to be enough. And they aimed their wrath directly at U.S. President Joe Biden, urging him to stop approving new oil and gas projects, phase out current ones and declare a climate emergency with larger executive powers. “We hold the power of the people, the power you need to win this election,” 17-year-old Emma Buretta of Brooklyn and the youth

Senators Tom Cotton (R-Arkansas), Roger Wicker (R-Mississippi), Susan Collins (R-Maine), and Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina) have penned a letter to Joe Biden, urging him to send MGM-140 Army Tactical Missile Systems (ATACMS) to Ukraine. The senators argue that not doing so will “only prolong the war” between Ukraine and Russia. The senators’ proposal is misguided and perilous for the United States and global stability. The senators’ letter comes on the heels of the Senate Armed Services Committee’s unanimous approval for the Department of Defense to send long-range missiles to Ukraine.

Unions representing health care workers, fast food workers and other industries are increasingly flexing their power, as employees take to the picket lines this summer. Across industries, workers are seeking improved benefits, better working conditions and most commonly, increased wages. In California, nearly 1 million fast food and healthcare workers are set to get a major raise after a deal was announced earlier this week between labor unions and industries. Under the new bill, most of California's 500,000 fast food workers will be paid at least $20 per hour next year. And a separate bill will increase health care workers'

Conservative actor Matthew Marsden caused X users to devolve into uncontrollable laughter after asking what President Biden’s greatest accomplishments were, hilariously claiming his was the president’s invention of the wheel. Right at the top of that list, other than inventing the wheel, would be his propensity for not even being remotely capable of telling the truth, but the responses on X were far more imaginative than that. “The thing I admire about Joe Biden the most is when he invented the wheel. Which Biden achievement is your favorite?” Marsen asked tongue-in-cheek.

Joe Biden's relationship with his attorney general, Merrick Garland, is so icy it is 'in the deep freeze', according to a report on Saturday. Biden and his aides are infuriated by Garland's decision to appoint special counsels to investigate both Biden's handling of classified documents, and his son Hunter's business affairs. They told The Wall Street Journal that Garland was seen as going too far in his effort to appear independent from Biden, who appointed him. But Garland's aides told the paper that the widely-respected, low-key official was simply trying to stop any suspicion that Biden was influencing his decisions.

Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) issued an apology for vaping and displaying disruptive behavior during a Beetlejuice production, according to a statement her campaign team released Friday evening. Boebert apologized for her behavior and expressed regret for not telling the truth about whether she had vaped during the production, which later led to her removal from the crowd by theater staff. The apology comes just days after it was reported the Colorado Republican had been removed from the theater for “vaping, singing, [and] causing a disturbance” to other patrons, according to a city incident report. “The past few days have been

While speaking at an event this week, Vice President Kamala Harris suggested that it is the job of government to ensure equal outcomes. That is the exact opposite of what America is, it’s the exact opposite of the founding principles of this country. In America, people have equality of opportunity, not equal outcomes. Equality of outcomes is communism. The people who are leading us don’t even understand or like the core concepts of the country and they tell us with their own words and actions on a nearly daily basis.

Disgraced FBI agent Peter Strzok said there needs to be a special unit to protect FBI agents from Americans. It’s a number we’ve never had before,” she told lawmakers. Peter Strzok took it to another level and said the FBI needs an entire unit to protect agents from American citizens. The FBI recently formed a unit to investigate threats against prosecutors and FBI agents involved in the Hunter Biden probe. “We have stood up an entire threat unit to address threats that the FBI employee facilities are receiving,” executive director for human resources for the FBI Jennifer Moore told the House Judiciary Committee. Moore said threats to the FBI are “unprecedented.”

Donald Trump, 77, is leaning toward picking a woman as his running mate in 2024 – but says he doesn't think it will make much of a 'difference' who he asks to run with him as vice president. The ex-President said he is considering South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem, 51, as a running mate. 'I like not to think too much about that. You always do a little bit – but I really don't think it's time. I want to win,' Trump told NBC News' new Meet the Press host Kristen Welker.

Radical climate activist Greta Thunberg has reportedly been arrested and charged with disobeying the police for the second time in less than two months. Thunberg, 20, originally participated in a climate protest in the southern city of Malmo on June 19th. “The climate crisis is a matter of life and death for countless people. We choose to physically stop fossil fuel infrastructure. We are reclaiming the future,” she reportedly said at the time. A month later, she was “fined 1,500 Swedish crowns ($134) by a Swedish court on July 24 for failing to leave [the] protest when ordered by police,” according to Reuters.

In yet another example of how crazy this news week has been, we learned Tuesday that Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) and her companion were confronted by ushers and escorted out of a Denver theater Sunday over multiple complaints that they were taking photos, vaping and “causing a disturbance” during a "Beetlejuice" show. To quickly recap, according to reports, Boebert allegedly refused to leave at first and told theater employees when they threatened to involve the Denver PD to go and get them. An incident report noted that Boebert also allegedly tried a power play on the ushers after she and the unidentified man left their seats
